"Oblivion" is a song by British band Bastille from their 2013 album Bad Blood. It was released digitally in the UK on 5 September 2014 as the eighth overall and final single from the album. A limited edition 7-inch vinyl edition of the single, featuring the previously unreleased track "bad_news" as the B-side, was also released on 8 September.
The song was featured on an episode of the television series The Vampire Diaries in 2012.
Background and release
The band confirmed during their headline set at London’s Somerset House on July 15 that "Oblivion" will be the next single from Bad Blood.
Music video
The music video was exclusively premiered on MSN Music UK on Monday July 21. It was later published through Bastille's Vevo channel on YouTube the same day. The video was directed by Austin Peters (who previously directed the band's "Flaws" and "Laura Palmer" music videos) and stars actress Sophie Turner (known for her role in the television series Game of Thrones). She is seen lip-syncing to the lyrics of the song, singing in front of a crowd of people at a demolition derby.
Bad News is the self-titled debut album from British heavy metal group Bad News released in October 1987 by EMI. The album features a cover of the famous Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody" and was produced by Queen's guitarist Brian May. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released as a single and had a music video created for it, written and directed by Adrian Edmondson, who portrays Vim Fuego in the group. The video was released as a video single by Picture Music International. In 2004, EMI re-released the album with a re-ordered track listing and with additions of tracks derived from the group's follow-up album The Cash In Compilation.
Bad News made their television debut during 1983, in the first series of The Comic Strip Presents... (written by Edmondson, and produced by Michael White/Comic Strip Productions). The episode, "Bad News Tour", took the form of a satirical fly-on-the-wallrockumentary, in which the incompetent band is followed travelling to a gig in Grantham, by an almost equally inept documentary film crew: It seemed to take much inspiration from Mark Kidel's 1976 BBC documentary So You Wanna Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star? that followed the Kursaal Flyers around Scotland and northeast England. The episode was also coincidentally in production at the same time as This Is Spinal Tap, which was released the following year to a much wider audience and subsequently greater acclaim.
"Bad News" is the 13th episode of the sixth season of the CBSsitcomHow I Met Your Mother and their 125th episode overall. It aired January 3, 2011. TV Guide listed "Bad News" in its list of 2011's Top TV Episodes.
Plot
Future Ted tells his kids that Marshall and Lily are anxious and worried about their chances of having a baby. After several months of trying to conceive without success, their doctor refers them to a fertility expert. As they tell Ted the news at MacLaren's, Barney arrives and announces to Ted and Marshall's dismay that he needs a partner for a laser tag tournament.
Lily goes to her appointment with the fertility expert, Dr. John Stangel (Neil Patrick Harris), only to discover that he looks exactly like Barney, save for a beard and dark brown hair, raising her immediate concern that he is in fact Barney in disguise. When Lily confronts Barney, Marshall vouches for Barney, saying that they spent the whole day together. To convince her that Stangel and Barney are not the same person, Marshall attends Lily's appointment and also immediately assumes Stangel and Barney are the same person. Barney shows up, acknowledges the similarity, and leaves. Lily still thinks Dr. Stangel is Barney in disguise upon hearing him say "Scoot up", mistaking it for Barney's catch phrase of "Suit up." After getting Barney and the doctor in the room together throughout the procedure, Lily is convinced that they are in fact two different people.
Spice Crackers is the fifth studio album from German synthpop group Camouflage, released in September 11, 1995 by BMG.
Background
The band's new contract with BMG Germany provided them with full creative freedom, allowing the two to utilise works originally intended for their failed opera project and make them much more experimental, and sometimes even inspired by science fiction films. In March 1995 the band performed in Stuttgart and debuted the new material.
Overall, the album was a completely new venture for the group, and unfortunately was not a success. Due to this, the band went their separate ways.
Singles
Two singles were released from the record: "Bad News" in August 1995 and "X-Ray" in early 1996. Music videos were filmed for both. "X-Ray" was remixed by Tranceformer and Ronda Ray for release. Both were included on the band's 2001 retrospective "Rewind".
Re-release
Due to the album being out of print, the band remastered and re-released the album in 2009. It features two discs, the second comprising B-sides and other rarities, some unreleased, from the Spice Crackers era. A download-only album was also released, containing all the remixes from the two singles.

13 Things People Who Self-Harm Want You To Know
Self-harm is common in young people with depression and anxiety but it also affects people of all ages. So what is self-harm? Self-harm also known as self injury is deliberately hurting your own body, such as cutting or burning, in a way to cope with emotional pain, intense anger or frustrations. While it is true that anyone can be affected by self-harm, some people are more likely to self-harm than others because of things that have happened in their lives such as their childhood, family, or friends. In this video, we want to cover some of the stories or insights that people who self-harm want you to know.

What are some things you've done as a
result of your psychopathy?
Sometimes when I think about these
stories, these Guilt stories, I don't know
what people would feel guilt about so I
do have a little bit of mind blindness
There. You know like I I've never lived
the life of somebody who feels this
empathy, this guilt, and so I don't
know what might trigger it.
I've never
really felt anything for animals
you know. I've never had a pet or
ever felt like a connection to animals.
I've never tortured animals. I
know you know some Psychopaths do torture animals for
various reasons but I never was
one of those that tortured animals. There was, however,
one time I was teaching swimming lessons and
I went out saw that there was this baby
opossum in the water. It was
just struggling to try
to get out of the pool and I thought the
baby opossum must have fallen in the
pool during the night or in the early
morning and now he's trying to get out.
But I also thought an opossum is a
pest and I don't want this opossum around me.
If I fish the opossum out then who
knows what he's going to do. Even domesticated animals can kind
of turn on you especially when they feel
like they're kind of in that fight or
flight kind of moment so I was like, I'll
just drown the opossum. What I did is I
just got a hose and just kept
hosing him so he's trying to get up
and I'm just trying to drown him
with the hose and I do that for
five minutes and he's he's actually a
trooper this baby opossum and so I
thought, this is not working. I figured I'll just
cancel the swimming lesson and just go
off and do something else, you know, go to
the beach for that afternoon.
I think maybe that seems cold-hearted to
people the way I went about it
but that's just kind of an interesting thing too - we're
socialized to certain things.
Different things are cold-hearted to different people and I
guess I am just immune to socialization
in general.
Another
example that stands out to me is
I was living in Los Angeles and it
would have been a
12-unit apartment complex. It was kind of
a nice apartment complex and I was an
attorney at the time and I was
making well into the six
figures and so it was very
comfortable for me to pay the rent. But I
noticed that my neighbors across from me
were driving like 1980s 1990s
Civics. Both of them were driving these
old Civics and I thought
I wonder how these people are paying
rent? I thought of it sometimes and I also
noticed, since they parked
right next to me, that they had these two
bikes that were collecting dust. I had
a friend visit me one weekend and I
thought let's go biking. And I thought,
well I have my bike but I don't have a
bike for you and I don't want to have
to drive somewhere and rent a bike because it's very inconvenient. I figured we should just
take my neighbors’ bikes. So I went down
and I pumped up the air and the
seats had dust on them - I mean they
clearly hadn't been ridden for years and
they were just little cheap Schwinn bikes
you know probably $100 or something.
So we bike and we come back several
hours later–we bike to the beach and it was great, it was fun. And then in
the evening I get this knock on the door
and I go answer it. Luckily it was me who answered and
not my roommate at the time because I answer
it and it's my neighbor and she said: you
know my bikes were missing earlier and
we were looking all over for them
and then we noticed that they were
replaced. Do you know what
happened with the bikes? I said yes, I
borrowed your bike and I
took it to the beach with my friend. Color drained from my neighbor’s
face–she was so angry at me. She
was like, why would you do something like
that and I'm gonna call the police and
that's theft. And I said it's probably
not theft technically - if anything it's
conversion, the tort of conversion, and
you'd have to sue me in small claims
court and I don't think the damages
would be very high because I just took
the bikes for several hours.
That was kind of my reaction but she
was livid.
The thing that people
find most shocking about the
book is when I say that I'm probably
smarter than the person reading the book. I find that to be an unusual
reaction for that to be the
most shocking thing in the book. It
surprised me, I didn't understand why
people would feel that way because that's
just statistically true. I mean I score
in the 99th percentile on all
standardized tests. Maybe there's been once or twice when I haven't
scored the 99th percentile
even on graduate school tests.

Oh baby, baby
Oh baby, baby
Oh baby, baby
How was I supposed to know
That something wasn't right here
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
And now you're out of sight, yeah
Show me, how you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now what we've got
My loneliness is killing me
I must confess, I still believe
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign

Self-harm is common in young people with depression and anxiety but it also affects people of all ages. So what is self-harm? Self-harm also known as self injury is deliberately hurting your own body, such as cutting or burning, in a way to cope with emotional pain, intense anger or frustrations. While it is true that anyone can be affected by self-harm, some people are more likely to self-harm than others because of things that have happened in their lives such as their childhood, family, or friends. In this video, we want to cover some of the stories or insights that people who self-harm want you to know.

Confessions of a Sociopath: A Life Spent Hiding in Plain Sight

TRANSCRIPT
What are some things you've done as a
result of your psychopathy?
Sometimes when I think about these
stories, these Guilt stories, I don't know
what people would feel guilt about so I
do have a little bit of mind blindness
There. You know like I I've never lived
the life of somebody who feels this
empathy, this guilt, and so I don't
know what might trigger it.
I've never
really felt anything for animals
you know. I've never had a pet or
ever felt like a connection to animals.
I've never tortured animals. I
know you know some Psychopaths do torture animals for
various reasons but I never was
one of those that tortured animals. There was, however,
one time I was teaching swimming lessons and
I went out saw that there was this baby
opossum in the water. It was
just struggling to try
to get out of the pool and I thought the
baby opossum must have fallen in the
pool during the night or in the early
morning and now he's trying to get out.
But I also thought an opossum is a
pest and I don't want this opossum around me.
If I fish the opossum out then who
knows what he's going to do. Even domesticated animals can kind
of turn on you especially when they feel
like they're kind of in that fight or
flight kind of moment so I was like, I'll
just drown the opossum. What I did is I
just got a hose and just kept
hosing him so he's trying to get up
and I'm just trying to drown him
with the hose and I do that for
five minutes and he's he's actually a
trooper this baby opossum and so I
thought, this is not working. I figured I'll just
cancel the swimming lesson and just go
off and do something else, you know, go to
the beach for that afternoon.
I think maybe that seems cold-hearted to
people the way I went about it
but that's just kind of an interesting thing too - we're
socialized to certain things.
Different things are cold-hearted to different people and I
guess I am just immune to socialization
in general.
Another
example that stands out to me is
I was living in Los Angeles and it
would have been a
12-unit apartment complex. It was kind of
a nice apartment complex and I was an
attorney at the time and I was
making well into the six
figures and so it was very
comfortable for me to pay the rent. But I
noticed that my neighbors across from me
were driving like 1980s 1990s
Civics. Both of them were driving these
old Civics and I thought
I wonder how these people are paying
rent? I thought of it sometimes and I also
noticed, since they parked
right next to me, that they had these two
bikes that were collecting dust. I had
a friend visit me one weekend and I
thought let's go biking. And I thought,
well I have my bike but I don't have a
bike for you and I don't want to have
to drive somewhere and rent a bike because it's very inconvenient. I figured we should just
take my neighbors’ bikes. So I went down
and I pumped up the air and the
seats had dust on them - I mean they
clearly hadn't been ridden for years and
they were just little cheap Schwinn bikes
you know probably $100 or something.
So we bike and we come back several
hours later–we bike to the beach and it was great, it was fun. And then in
the evening I get this knock on the door
and I go answer it. Luckily it was me who answered and
not my roommate at the time because I answer
it and it's my neighbor and she said: you
know my bikes were missing earlier and
we were looking all over for them
and then we noticed that they were
replaced. Do you know what
happened with the bikes? I said yes, I
borrowed your bike and I
took it to the beach with my friend. Color drained from my neighbor’s
face–she was so angry at me. She
was like, why would you do something like
that and I'm gonna call the police and
that's theft. And I said it's probably
not theft technically - if anything it's
conversion, the tort of conversion, and
you'd have to sue me in small claims
court and I don't think the damages
would be very high because I just took
the bikes for several hours.
That was kind of my reaction but she
was livid.
The thing that people
find most shocking about the
book is when I say that I'm probably
smarter than the person reading the book. I find that to be an unusual
reaction for that to be the
most shocking thing in the book. It
surprised me, I didn't understand why
people would feel that way because that's
just statistically true. I mean I score
in the 99th percentile on all
standardized tests. Maybe there's been once or twice when I haven't
scored the 99th percentile
even on graduate school tests.
