Maria Amalia of Saxony, Queen of Spain and Naples & Sicily
Maria Amalia (November 24, 1724 – September 27, 1760) was the daughter of Augustus III of Poland, Elector of Saxony and Maria Josepha of Austria, and in her later life Queen of Spain and Naples & Sicily, consort to Carlos III of Spain.
She was well-beloved by the people of Naples & Sicily for 21 years, but died from tuberculosis only year after her husband ascended the Spanish throne. She had 13 children, 7 who lived into adulthood.
Maria was only 14 when she married the 22 year old Carlos, but despite being an arranged marriage the couple became very close. Maria heavily promoted the arts in her new home country, including the construction of the Caserta Palace. Maria Amalia was described as a beauty and as a skillful rider, and she accompanied Charles on his hunts. As Queen, she exerted...

Maria Josepha Of Saxony, Daughter In Law Of Louis XV was born on November 4, 1731 in Dresden and died on March 13, 1767 in Versailles. She was Dauphine of France by her marriage to the Dauphin Louis Ferdinand, son of Louis XV, King of France and Navarre, and Maria Leszczyńska.
Maria Josepha mothered thirteen children. Five were born stillborn, three died in infancy, and three became kings of France.
