The Worst Typhoons of 2024: Unbelievable Destruction Worldwide!
Storm "Kathleen" struck Portleven, Cornwall on April 6, 2024, causing waves up to 25 feet high.
Strong winds reaching 70 miles per hour led to the destruction of beach structures and flooding in coastal areas.
Authorities issued 119 flood warnings, fearing further damage to infrastructure.
The storm became one of the most powerful of 2024, causing significant damage to the UK coastline.
On August 14, 2024, a catastrophic storm caused by the DANA weather phenomenon struck the island of Formentera, Spain.
The storm brought powerful winds exceeding 100 km/h, leading to widespread destruction across the island.
In the port of La Savina, a large number of yachts struggled against the sea, with many vessels being destroyed despite their efforts.
The severity of the storm forced the closure of the port, leaving many stranded and unable to evacuate.
Infrastructure was severely impacted, with blocked roads and damaged buildings, while emergency services worked through the night to respond to the crisis.
Typhoon "Gaemi" (Karina) began forming on July 20, 2024, and reached the northeastern Philippines on July 22 with wind speeds of 120 km/h.
The typhoon caused torrential rains, leading to flooding and landslides in the provinces of Cagayan and Batanes.
On July 23 in Manila, two barges collided due to strong winds on the Pasig River, resulting in an oil spill and water contamination.
By July 24, the typhoon reached its maximum strength with winds of 230 km/h and wave heights of 6.1 meters, resulting in 22 fatalities.
The typhoon led to the evacuation of thousands and extensive damage to infrastructure.
On August 27, 2024, Typhoon "Shanshan" struck Japan, starting with the southern island of Kyushu.
The cities of Makurazaki and Kagoshima bore the brunt of the destruction, with homes damaged and flooding occurring.
Millions of people were evacuated from their homes, and the economy of the region began to feel serious consequences.
Transportation systems were paralyzed, with flights canceled and roads becoming impassable due to flooding and debris.
Super Typhoon "Yagi" struck Hainan, China, on September 7, 2024, with maximum wind speeds of 234 km/h.
More than 800,000 homes were left without electricity, and roads were flooded, paralyzing the transportation system.
The typhoon caused significant damage to infrastructure, although no reports of fatalities were received.
Authorities evacuated over 300,000 residents before the storm made landfall to minimize the impact.
Yagi continued its path toward northern Vietnam, leaving behind destruction and recovery challenges.
