Nucleotide Bases in Asteroids - How Do You KNOW? 45 - Explore Alliance
In 2019, NASA announced that an international team had found sugars essential to life in meteorites. The discovery added to the growing list of biologically important compounds that have been found in meteorites, supporting the hypothesis that chemical reactions in asteroids – the parent bodies of many meteorites – can make some of life’s ingredients.
Daniel Barth focuses on how asteroids may have delivered nucleotides that assisted in the rise of life here on Earth.

A very short and easy explanation behind the science of waves. How are ocean waves formed and what are the factor behind their formation.
Waves are a powerful natural Phenomenon. In fact, just .2% of the total energy of ocean waves could be used to power the entire world. Waves are caused by a number of factors.
The oceans on the earth's surface are attracted to the moon through the effects of gravity.

Program of the October 2022 chapter meeting.
Just as milkweeds are the only plants Monarch butterflies use to raise their young, our native plants are also critically important to the adult Monarchs as they migrate through Texas. TPWD Texas Nature Trackers Biologist Craig Hensley will share with you the natural history of milkweeds and introduce you to native plants that provide important nectaring sources for Monarchs as they migrate through Texas each fall.
About the Speakers
Craig Hensley is a Texas Nature Trackers Biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. He has also served as a district Wildlife Biologist and for eight years was the Park Interpreter for Guadalupe River State Park. A native of Iowa, Craig has worked in the field of interpretation/nature education for 30+ years, from Minnesota and Iowa to Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. He is an avid naturalist, photographing and studying everything from wildflowers and butterflies to birds, dragonflies, and all else in-between. He is father to two grown children and grandfather to five.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Otto Hahn (8 March 1879 – 28 July 1968) was a German chemist and pioneer in the fields of radioactivity and radiochemistry. He is referred to as the father of nuclear chemistry. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1944 for the discovery and the radiochemical proof of nuclear fission. This process is exploited by nuclear reactors and is one of the basics of nuclear weapons that were developed in the U.S. during World War II.
He served as the last President of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society (KWG) in 1946 and as the founding President of the Max Planck Society (MPG) from 1948 to 1960. Considered by many to be a model for scholarly excellence and personal integrity, he became one of the most influential and respected citizens of the new postwar country West Germany.
Hahn was an opponent of national socialism and Jewish persecution by the Nazi Party.
Albert Einstein wrote that Hahn was "one of the very few who stood upright and did the best he could in these years of evil". After World War II, Hahn became a passionate campaigner against the use of nuclear energy as a weapon.
