He went on to develop a career as a television presenter and writer, as well as continuing with acting work. He currently presents the television bloopers show It'll Be Alright on the Night for ITV, replacing Denis Norden in 2008.
Rhys Jones has fronted a number of documentary series for both the BBC and ITV including Mountain in 2007, Greatest Cities of the World between 2008 and 2010 and A Great Welsh Adventure in 2014.
Early life and education
Rhys Jones was born in Cardiff, the son of Gwynneth Margaret (née Jones) and Elwyn, a doctor. The family moved because of his father's occupation to West Sussex when he was 6 months old. He attended Conifers Primary School in Midhurst, West Sussex, junior school in Epping, Essex, and Brentwood School, also in Essex. While the family was resident in Essex, his father had a boat in West Mersea on Mersea Island, which they would sail around the coast of Suffolk and into The Broads.
Rhys Jones (born 30 June 1994) is a Paralympianathlete from Wales competing in category T37 sprinting events. Jones qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the 100m and 200m sprint. Making the final of the 200m at his first major games.
History
Jones was born in Church Village near Pontypridd in Wales in 1994. Jones, who has cerebral palsy, played football for a pan-disability side before switching to athletics after attending a Disability Sports Wales trial. He attended his first junior competition, in Blackpool in 2008, winning four gold medals in the T37 category. By 2010 he was entering senior championships, competing in sprints and the long jump in the 2008 CP National Championships in Nottingham.
In 2011 Jones entered events across Europe taking first place at the Czech Open. He posted two personal bests in 2012, 12.25s in the 100m sprint at Birmingham and 25.24s in the 200m in the London Disability Athletics Challenge. He qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics in both 100m and 200m sprint. He followed his first Paralympic Games by qualifying for this 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon finishing 7th in the 100m and 8th in the 200m.
Rhys Jones is a Welsh rugby union player. A fly half, he is the son of former Wales international Kingsley Jones. Rhys Jones is Wales Youth, Under 18, Under 19, Under 20 and Wales 7s international.
"Madison Blues" is a blues song by American blues musician Elmore James. It is an upbeat Chicago-style shuffle featuring James' amplified slide guitar and vocal. He recorded it in 1960 for Chess Records, during a session that also produced "Talk to Me Baby" ("I Can't Hold Out") and "The Sun Is Shining", a follow-up to his popular single "The Sky Is Crying".
James recorded the song with his long-time backup band, the Broomdusters: tenor saxophonist J. T. Brown, pianist Little Johnny Jones, and second guitarist Homesick James, with drummer Odie Payne. It is a twelve-bar blues notated in 4/4 time in the key of D and includes a twelve-bar slide-guitar intro and two twelve-bar sections with Brown's sax solo. The chorus makes a pun on "blues":
Put on your Madison blues shoes (2×)
I've got the Madison blues, now put on your Madison blue shoes
^Cite error: The named reference Leonard was invoked but never defined (see the help page).
Music writer Don Snowden describes the session as "showcas[ing] his mature style—the trademark bottleneck guitar licks and raw-edged, gritty vocals complemented by J. T. Brown's braying sax solos, tinkling piano by Johnnie Jones and Odie Payne's tough, propulsive drumming." The song was not issued as a single, but was later included on the Elmore James/John Brim compilation albums Tough (Blue Horizon, UK, 1968), and Whose Muddy Shoes (Chess, US, 1969).
Madison Blues – Live & Studio Recordings (or just Madison Blues) is a compilation album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 2003. It is a compilation of BBC session tracks and live concert material from the band's first post-Peter Green line up, none of which had previously been officially released. It is unusual within Fleetwood Mac's catalogue as it focuses on the period between the successful Peter Green period and the start of the Bob Welch period which eventually led to another successful period for the band in the mid to late 1970s. Packaged as a double CD with a DVD interview with guitarist Jeremy Spencer, it came in a cardboard box with a foldout inner sheet.
The release also included four tracks by the Christine Perfect Band, which was planned as a project for Christine Perfect in 1969, after her brief solo career. This was later abandoned and she joined Fleetwood Mac in the summer of 1970.
This boxed release should not be confused with another Fleetwood Mac compilation album of the same name, a single disc released in 1994, which consists of selected material from the Live in Boston concerts.
