Peter Nero (born Bernard Nierow, May 22, 1934) is an American pianist and pops conductor.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, as Bernard Nierow, he started his formal music training at the age of seven. He studied piano under Frederick Bried. By the time he was fourteen, he was accepted to New York City's High School of Music and Art and won a scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music. Constance Keene, his teacher and mentor, once wrote in an issue of Keyboard Classics, "Vladimir Horowitz was Peter's greatest fan!" He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1956.
Nero recorded his first album under the name of Bernie Nerow in July 1957 under the Mode label MOD-LP117 which shows his technical virtuosity in the jazz genre.( I own the album). Nero recorded an album in 1961, and won a Grammy Award that year for "Best New Artist." Since then, he has received another Grammy, garnered ten additional nominations and released 67 albums. Nero's early association with RCA Victor produced 23 albums in eight years. His subsequent move to Columbia Records resulted in a million-selling single and album – Summer of '42.
Peter John Nero (born 27 June 1964) is a cricket umpire from Trinidad and Tobago.
Nero made his list A cricket debut in 2007, umpiring his first-class cricket debut the year after.
"Mack the Knife" or "The Ballad of Mack the Knife", originally "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer", is a song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for their music drama Die Dreigroschenoper, or, as it is known in English, The Threepenny Opera. It premiered in Berlin in 1928 at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. The song has become a popular standard recorded by many artists, including a US and UK number one hit for Bobby Darin in 1959.
A moritat (from mori meaning "deadly" and tat meaning "deed") is a medieval version of the murder ballad performed by strolling minstrels. In The Threepenny Opera, the moritat singer with his street organ introduces and closes the drama with the tale of the deadly Mackie Messer, or Mack the Knife, a character based on the dashing highwayman Macheath in John Gay's The Beggar's Opera (who was in turn based on the historical thief Jack Sheppard). The Brecht-Weill version of the character was far more cruel and sinister, and has been transformed into a modern anti-hero.
Mack the Knife (in German Mackie Messer) is the nickname of Macheath, a character from The Threepenny Opera, and also the name of a song from that work. It is also the title of the US film adaptation of the opera.
Other uses of the term, presumably all based on the original use, include:
Milo Yiannopoulos (Greek: Μίλων Γιαννόπουλος, born 18 October 1983) is a British journalist and entrepreneur. He founded The Kernel, an online tabloid magazine about technology, which he sold to Daily Dot Media in 2014. He is involved in the Gamergate controversy. He is the Technology Editor for Breitbart.com, a United States-based conservative news and opinion website.
Yiannopoulos was born in Greece, but was raised by a middle-class family in Kent. His mother is Jewish, and his stepfather is an architect. Yiannopoulos attended the University of Manchester, dropping out without graduating. He then attended Wolfson College, Cambridge where he studied English literature for two years before dropping out. Regarding dropping out of university, in 2012 he told Forbes, "I try to tell myself I'm in good company, but ultimately it doesn't say great things about you unless you go on to terrific success in your own right." In 2015, in an article titled "I dropped out of Manchester and Cambridge but it’s honestly fine", he wrote that he didn't believe a college degree was necessary for success, and that he believed he had achieved success without one.
Nero (37–68) was Roman Emperor from 54 to 68.
Nero may also refer to:
Nero Julius Caesar Germanicus (c. AD 6–AD 31) was a close relative of the Roman emperors of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
Nero was born around AD 6, to Germanicus and Agrippina the Elder. His paternal grandparents were Nero Claudius Drusus and Antonia Minor, daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia Minor. His maternal grandparents were Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and Julia the Elder, daughter of Augustus.
Nero's siblings included four brothers (Tiberius and Gaius Julius, who died young; Drusus Caesar; and the future Emperor Caligula) and three sisters (Agrippina the Younger, Julia Drusilla, and Julia Livilla). In 20, he married Julia (daughter of Drusus the Younger), daughter of Livilla and Drusus "Castor" (Tiberius' only son by Vipsania Agrippina). Though earlier he was betrothed to the daughter of Creticus Silanus, one-time governor of Syria.
His father Germanicus was heir apparent to his own adoptive father Emperor Tiberius, but Germanicus predeceased the Emperor in 19. He was replaced as heir by Drusus, his father-in-law. But he too predeceased the Emperor on September 14, 23.
The North Zone Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association will begin its 2021 umpires’ training course and it will be online. ICC Elite Umpire Joel Wilson along with former international umpire Peter Nero will be a couple of those who will be conducting the course. It will run every Monday and Wednesday except for public holidays. Wilson told us it will touch on the laws of the game coupled with field craft, mental and physical fitness. While he says there are opportunities for young aspiring umpires, he was very open in stating it's a long and tough road to the international game.

The original title is a play on the comic strip character "Prince Valiant." The alternate title is derivative of one of Yosemite Sam's choice insults at Bugs Bunny in this cartoon: "You better open up that gate, Prince Varmint, or I'll bust it down!" A Viking named Sam the Terrible is rowing upriver towards a castle, and he is noticed by two people on a nearby riverbank, who retreat to the castle sensing an invasion. As he passes by Bugs Bunny's hole, Bugs peeks out and thinks that Sam's outfit is that of an "electric can opener broken loose". As Bugs sees Sam enter the castle, Bugs takes it upon himself to fight Sam. In Bugs' first confronting Sam, who is trying to get the locals to come out, Bugs calls Sam's outfit a Halloween costume, and takes the sword from Sam and dulls it, renderi...

Oh, the shark has pretty teeth dear
And he shows 'em, pearly white
Just a jack knife has Macheath dear
And he keeps it way out of sight
When that shark bites with his teeth, dear
Scarlet billows begin to spread
Fancy gloves though has Macheath dear
So there's never, never a trace of red
On the sidewalk, one Sunday morning
Lies a body, oozin' life
Someone's sneaking 'round the corner
Could that someone be Mack the Knife
From a tugboat, on the river going slow
A cement bag is dropping on down
You know that cement is for the weight dear
You can make a large bet Mackie's back in town
My man Louis Miller, he split the scene babe
After drawing out all the bread from his stash
Now Macheath spends like a sailor
Do you suppose our boy, he's done something rash
Old Satchmo, Louis Armstrong, Bobby Darrin
Did this song nice, Lady Ella too
They all sang it, with so much feeling
That Old Blue Eyes, he ain't gonna add nothing new
But with his big band, jumping behind me
Swinging hard, Jack, I now I can't lose
When I tell you, all about Mack the Knife babe
It's an offer, you can never refuse
We got Patrick Williams, Bill Miller playing that piano
And this great big band, bringing up the rear
All the band cats, in this band now
They make the greatest sounds, you're never gonna hear
Oh Sookie Taudry, Jenny Diver, Polly Peachum, Old Miss Lulu Brown
Hey the line forms, on the right dear
Now that Macheath's back in town
You'd better lock your doors, and call the law
Because Macheath's back in town
Oh, the poor shark,
Yes, the sweet shark,
It has big teeth
Buried deep.
Then there's Macheath
With his big knife,
But it's hidden
In his slip.
And this same shark,
This poor sweet shark,
It sheds red blood
When it bleeds.
Mackie Big Knife
Wears a white glove,
Pure in word and
Pure in deed.
Sunday morning
Lovely blue sky,
There's a corpse stretched
On the Strand.
Who's the man cruisin'
The corner?
Well, it's Mackie,
Knife in hand.
Jenny Towler
Poor wee Jenny,
There they found her
Knife in breast.
Mackie's wandering
On the West Pier
Hoping only
For the best.
Mind that fire burnt
All through Soho.
Seven kids dead
One old flower.
Hey there Mackie,
How is she cuttin'?
Have another
Hold your hour.
And those sweet babes
Under sixteen
Story goes that
Black and blue
For the price of
One good screwing
Mackie, Mackie
How could you?
For the price of
One good screwing
Mackie, Mackie
How could you?
