The RAFAEL Luz (Hebrew: ŚŚŚ, Hazelnut) was the first missile built in Israel. RAFAEL developed the missile using knowledge gained from the French MD-620 missile which was built for the Israel Defense Forces by Avions Marcel Dassault-Breguet Aviation. Originally intended to have three versions â surface-to-surface, air-to-ground and anti-ship, technical problems and budget cuts forced Rafael to produce the surface-to-surface and air-to-ground versions alone, although they never saw operational service.
Development
The missile, with a length of about 3 meters, had a range of 27Â km. It was launched from a ground vehicle carrying two missiles, and guided by an operator using a joystick and an electro-optical guidance system
The anti-ship variant was dropped for budgetary and technical reasons, as the electro-optical guidance system and joystick performed poorly in poor lighting conditions. Ori Even-Tov, an engineer at Rafael, had already proposed alternative solutions, but these were rejected. The anti-ship version would later be developed into the successful IAI Gabriel. In 1962, the surface-to-surface and air-to-ground variants were dropped as well before becoming fully operational, with the IDF instead favoring the use of artillery due to cost-benefit reasons.
Luz is the ancient name of a royal Canaanite city, connected with Bethel (Genesis 28:19; 35:6). It is debated among scholars whether Luz and Bethel represent one and the same town - the former the Canaanite name, and the latter the Hebrew name - or whether they were distinct places in proximity to each other.
Mentioned in Book of Judges
Luz is also considered to be a town in the north, described in Judges 1:22 "And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Beth-el; and the LORD was with them. 23 And the house of Joseph sent to spy out Beth-el--now the name of the city beforetime was Luz. 24 And the watchers saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him: 'Show us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will deal kindly with thee.' 25 And he showed them the entrance into the city, and they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let the man go and all his family. 26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz, which is the name thereof unto this day."
Luz Casal (Spanish pronunciation: [luΞ kaËsal]; born November 11, 1958 at Boimorto) is a Spanishpopsinger. She grew up in neighbouring Asturias, took singing, piano and ballet classes, and moved to Madrid to pursue a career as a musician.
She became famous in the early 1980s, and remained an important figure in Spanish pop music all through said decade and beyond, with her sound gradually maturing towards soft adult pop. She recorded a cover version of Ătienne Daho's French language song "Duel au Soleil" in Spanish called "Un nuevo dĂa brillarĂĄ", which became a hit song. Since the beginning of her career, she has sold over five million albums.
In January 2007, Luz Casal was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent an operation at the Ruber Clinic in Madrid., seven months later, she revealed to the Spanish media that she had overcome her disease. More recently in May 2010, she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer in her other breast and had to cancel her current tour to be operated on.
In ordinary British-English usage predating guided weapons, a missile is "any thrown object", such as objects thrown at players by rowdy spectators at a sporting event.
Missile is a 1987 American documentary film by Frederick Wiseman. It chronicles the 14 week training course for the men and women of the United States Air Force who are charged with manning the ICBM silos in remote places like Minot AFB and Whiteman AFB. The film shows discussions of the ethics of nuclear war, shows scenes from the daily lives of trainees, and shows demonstrations of training exercises such as counterterrorism, the launching of nuclear missiles, the command and control process, and basic military training. Most scenes in the film are of classroom training, interspersed with exercises in training facilities. The film includes a scene of an Air Force church service memorial for the astronauts killed in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.
In the typical style of Wiseman's films, the documentary is unadorned by commentary, narration, or music.

How TOW anti-tank missiles - Anti-Armor Missile Work
In its basic infantry form, the system breaks down into a number of modules: a folding tripod mount, a launch tube (into the rear of which encased missiles are inserted), a mandatory daysight tracker unit, which can be augmented with an optional AN/TAS-4 or AN/TAS-4/A gas-cooled night sight (or an all-in-one tracker unit on the M41 ITAS version), and a traversing unit, which mounts onto the tripod and carries the launch tube and sight, that also includes the weapon's trigger and the bridging clamp, which mates with the missile's umbilical data connector. In addition to this main assembly, there is a separate FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM (FCS) module, which performs all guidance calculations, and a battery pack to power the system. These two modules link to each other, with the FCS then linked to the daysight with a cable.

It was a wire-guided Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight (SACLOS) ATGM. Its semi-automatic guidance system was much more accurate than of the previous Soviet ATGMs. The operator just have to keep a crosshair on the target, while the guidance system guides the missile on the target automatically. The Fagot has a hit probability of 80-90%, opposed to 50-60% of the previous Soviet ATGMs. Together with its other features the Fagot was incomparable to anything in the West, such as American BGM-71 TOW or the Franco-German MILAN and had little in common with its peers.
The baseline 9M111 missile is factory-fitted and sealed in launch tube. It has a range of 2 000 m. The missile is fitted with High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead and penetrates 400 mm of steel armor. Though penetration is reduced to 200 mm once the missile hits the target under 60° angle. Such result was not impressive and soon improved missiles, as well as improved variants of the Fagot appeared.
When launched the missile spins toward the target and emits a red tail light so its course can be followed visually. Maximum rate of fire is 3 missiles per minute.
The missile is mounted on a 9P135 tripod-launcher system. It combines a collapsible launcher unit on tripod with an integrated guidance unit/controller box and firing mechanism. The launcher of the Fagot allowed its deployment in a concealed position or behind cover. Unlike the BGM-71 TOW, for example, the Fagot could be launched without the operators exposing themselves. In travelling order the launcher unit can be split into several parts. The operators carry a total of 8 missiles.
Hope you enjoy!!

Deliberately choosing your game's mechanics and systems can actually reinforce the ideas you want your player to think about when they make choices. How tow anti-tank missiles work | how anti-armor missile work | wire guided missile how it works | First produced in 1970, TOW is one of the most widely used anti-tank guided missiles. The TOW anti-tank guided missile is still deadly after nearly 50 years of service where it proved itself as a very effective weapon. The TOW anti-tank missiles were responsible for many destroyed tanks, mostly Russian-made.
The TOW missiles are typically used by various companies for heavy anti-armor work but still the TOW is able to knock-out even the most protected tanks. The weapon is used in anti-armor, anti-bunker, anti-fortification and anti-amphibious landing roles.

The 9K111 Fagot (Bassoon) is a Soviet Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM). Its development program was launched in 1966. It was the first Soviet second-generation ATGM. The Fagot had some features of a Franco-German MILAN, though it was a different weapon. The Fagot weapon was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1970. It was produced in large numbers and was widely exported to Soviet allies. This weapon was designated in the West as AT-4 or Spigot.
The Fagot marked a departure from the previous Soviet anti-tank missiles like the Malyutka (Western reporting name AT-3 Sagger) and the older Fleyta (AT-2 Swatter).
