Lombard Street (Baltimore)
Lombard Street is a major street in Baltimore. It forms a one-way pair of streets with Pratt Street that run west-east through downtown Baltimore. For most of their route, Pratt Street is one-way in an eastbound direction, and Lombard Street is one way westbound. Both streets begin in west Baltimore at Frederick Avenue and end in Butcher's Hill at Patterson Park Avenue. Since 2005, these streets have been open to two-way traffic from Broadway up until their end at Patterson Park; in addition, Lombard is also two-way from Fulton Avenue to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, near the University of Maryland at Baltimore campus.
To the east of Patterson Park, both Pratt and Lombard Streets start again at Linwood Avenue. Lombard Street continues mostly as a multilane street up until Kane Street, short of reaching Interstate 95. Lombard, which is known as Lombard Street East in this area, with part of an interchange with the Harbor Tunnel Thruway and access to Bayview Medical Center.

Lombard Street, London
Lombard Street is a street in the City of London, notable for its connections with the City's merchant, banking and insurance industries, stretching back to medieval times.
From the junction at Bank, where nine streets converge by the Bank of England, Lombard Street runs southeast for a short distance, before bearing left into a more easterly direction, and terminates at a junction with Gracechurch Street and Fenchurch Street. Its overall length is 1⁄4 km (1⁄6 mi).
It has often been compared with Wall Street in New York City.
Description
Lombard Street, since the construction of King William Street, has two distinctive sections. The short section between Bank and the church of St Mary Woolnoth is spacious and has two-way traffic (including several bus routes) which continues along King William Street. The street then bears to the east and the remainder is much narrower (retaining its medieval character) and is one-way, with vehicular traffic directed east to west.
At the eastern end of the street, a number of modern buildings exist on both sides of the street, in contrast to the older buildings and architectural styles along much of it length. Built 1990–92, the former headquarters building of Barclays covers a large plot on the north corner of Lombard and Gracechurch Streets, and is the largest and tallest building in the vicinity of Lombard Street at 87 metres (285 ft) high.

Lombard Street is an east–west street in San Francisco, California that is famous for a steep, one-block section with eight hairpin turns. The street was named after Lombard Street in Philadelphia by San Francisco surveyor Jasper O'Farrell.
Route description
Lombard Street's west end is at Presidio Boulevard inside The Presidio; it then heads east through the Cow Hollow neighborhood. For twelve blocks, between Broderick Street and Van Ness Avenue, it is an arterial road that is co-signed as U.S. Route 101. Lombard Street continues through the Russian Hill neighborhood and to the Telegraph Hill neighborhood. At Telegraph Hill it turns south, becoming Telegraph Hill Boulevard to Pioneer Park and Coit Tower. Lombard Street starts again at Winthrop Street and ends at The Embarcadero as a collector road.
Lombard Street is known for the one-way block on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, where eight sharp turns are said to make it the most crooked street in the world. The design, first suggested by property owner Carl Henry and built in 1922, was intended to reduce the hill's natural 27% grade, which was too steep for most vehicles. It is also a hazard to pedestrians, who are accustomed to shallow inclines, up to 4.86° because of wheel chair navigability concerns. The crooked block is perhaps 600 feet (180 m) long (412.5 feet (125.7 m) straightline), is one-way (downhill) and is paved with red bricks. The sign at the top recommends 5 mph (8 km/h).

Prince Rogers Nelson (born June 7, 1958), known by his mononym Prince, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor, and has been a major figure in popular music for over three decades. Prince is renowned as an innovator and is widely known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, and wide vocal range. He is widely regarded as the pioneer of Minneapolis sound. His music combines rock, R&B, soul, funk, hip hop, disco, psychedelia, jazz, and pop.
Prince was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and developed an interest in music at an early age, writing his first song at age seven. After recording songs with his cousin's band 94 East, 19-year-old Prince recorded several unsuccessful demo tapes before releasing his debut album For You in 1978, under the guidance of manager Owen Husney. His 1979 album Prince went platinum due to the success of the singles "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?" and "I Wanna Be Your Lover". His next three records — Dirty Mind (1980), Controversy (1981), and 1999 (1982) — continued his success, showcasing Prince's trademark of prominently sexual lyrics and incorporation of elements of funk, dance, and rock music. Baltimore, Ontario
Baltimore, a village located in the southeast portion of Hamilton Township in Northumberland County in central Ontario, is just north of the town of Cobourg. It is located at the intersection of County Road 45 (formerly Highway 45) and County Road 74 (Dale Road).
Baltimore was first occupied by the Irish immigrant John McCarty around 1805, and was named after his family's ancestral home in Baltimore, County Cork, Ireland. It is best known today for the presence of historic Ball's Mill, built in 1842.

Located just five blocks from the Fisherman’s Wharf, in the heart of San Francisco, up a series of steep hills, is the famed Lombard Street, which is often dubbed the "crookedest street in the world." At an elevation of 325’, Lombard Street takes you through 8 very steep and curvy switchbacks at a 27% grade, which means, for every 100 feet you travel, the street drops 27 feet. In 1999, a Crooked Street Task Force was created to try to solve traffic problems in the neighborhoods around the winding section of Lombard Street. In 2001, the Task Force decided that it would not be legal to permanently close the block to vehicular traffic.
Instead, the Task Force decided to institute a summer parking ban in the area, to bar eastbound traffic on major holidays, and to increase fines for parking in the area. The Task Force also proposed the idea of using minibuses to ferry sightseers to the famous block, although residents debated the efficiency of such a solution, since one of the attractions of touring the area is driving along the twisting section of the street.

Lombard Street is best known for the one-way section on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, in which the roadway has eight sharp turns (or switchbacks) that have earned the street the distinction of being the crookedest [most winding] street in the world (though this title is contested).

In 1999, a Crooked Street Task Force was created to try to solve traffic problems in the neighborhoods around the winding section of Lombard Street. In 2001, the Task Force decided that it would not be legal to permanently close the block to vehicular traffic.
Instead, the Task Force decided to institute a summer parking ban in the area, to bar eastbound traffic on major holidays, and to increase fines for parking in the area. The Task Force also proposed the idea of using minibuses to ferry sightseers to the famous block, although residents debated the efficiency of such a solution, since one of the attractions of touring the area is driving along the twisting section of the street.

Ability to pass on such street is in San Francisco, which is known to be standing on the hills .... And there in the city Lombard #Street (Lombard Street). Moreover, it is a 27-degree hill, so it still has eight "critical" turns. #Lombard Street (San Francisco). Of course, the curved section is only part of the entire #road. The speed limit on it only 5 miles / hour (8 km / h), and can only go down. On both sides of the road are the most expensive mansions in San Francisco.
The road was built in such a strange way, long ago, because the first vehicles due to the weakness of the engines could not cope with 27% slope. Yes, and pedestrians to climb is not very convenient. In 2001, local authorities had almost closed it to vehicles, but, on reflection, decided to move one way - from the top down and to limit and prohibit parking.

Lombard Street (Baltimore)
Lombard Street is a major street in Baltimore. It forms a one-way pair of streets with Pratt Street that run west-east through downtown Baltimore. For most of their route, Pratt Street is one-way in an eastbound direction, and Lombard Street is one way westbound. Both streets begin in west Baltimore at Frederick Avenue and end in Butcher's Hill at Patterson Park Avenue. Since 2005, these streets have been open to two-way traffic from Broadway up until their end at Patterson Park; in addition, Lombard is also two-way from Fulton Avenue to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, near the University of Maryland at Baltimore campus.
To the east of Patterson Park, both Pratt and Lombard Streets start again at Linwood Avenue. Lombard Street continues mostly as a multilane street up until Kane Street, short of reaching Interstate 95. Lombard, which is known as Lombard Street East in this area, with part of an interchange with the Harbor Tunnel Thruway and access to Bayview Medical Center.
