Jerry Reed Hubbard (March 20, 1937 – September 1, 2008), known professionally as Jerry Reed, was an American country music singer, guitarist, and songwriter, as well as an actor who appeared in more than a dozen films. His signature songs included “Guitar Man,” “U.S. Male,” “A Thing Called Love,” “Alabama Wild Man,” “Amos Moses,” “When You're Hot, You're Hot” (which garnered a Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance), “Ko-Ko Joe,” “Lord, Mr. Ford,” “East Bound and Down” (the theme song for the 1977 blockbuster Smokey and the Bandit, in which Reed co-starred), “The Bird,” and “She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft).”
Reed was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the second child of Robert and Cynthia Hubbard. Reed’s grandparents lived in Rockmart, and he would visit them from time to time. He was quoted as saying as a small child, while running around strumming his guitar, “I am gonna be a star. I’m gonna go to Nashville and be a star.” Reed’s parents separated four months after his birth, and he and his sister spent seven years in foster homes or orphanages. Reed was reunited with his mother and stepfather in 1944. Music and impromptu performances helped ease the stressful times the new family was under.
Jerry Maxwell Reed (born October 8, 1955 in Bryson City, North Carolina), is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched for all or part of nine seasons between 1981-1990.
Reed was originally drafted out of high school by the Minnesota Twins. He was chosen in the 11th round of the 1973 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign, instead opting to attend Western Carolina University. After four years at WCU, Reed was again drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 22nd round of the 1977 draft. He played the next four seasons in their farm system before earning a September call-up in 1981.
Reed pitched just 41⁄3 innings in 4 games in the majors in '81. He pitched another 7 games for the Phillies in 1982, then was traded to the Cleveland Indians with two other prospects (Wil Culmer and Roy Smith) in exchange for John Denny to boost the Phillies' September stretch run, which fell three games short of the division-winning St. Louis Cardinals.
Limehouse Blues may refer to:
"Limehouse Blues" is a popular 1922 British song written by the London-based duo of Douglas Furber (lyrics) and Philip Braham (music). It was made famous by Gertrude Lawrence. It has been recorded hundreds of times since, and remains in the standard jazz repertory. Some of the most notable recordings include those by Sidney Bechet, Django Reinhardt, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Stan Kenton, The Dave Brubeck Quartet featuring Gerry Mulligan, the Ellis Marsalis Trio, Chet Atkins with Les Paul and The Mills Brothers. Outside jazz it has been recorded by a number of bluegrass artists, most notably by Reno and Smiley.
The song has been performed in such films as Ziegfeld Follies (by Fred Astaire and Lucille Bremer in Asian makeup), and Star (by Julie Andrews, again, in Asian makeup). The song's title was used for the 1934 film Limehouse Blues.
The song was inspired by the Limehouse district of east London, which housed the London Chinatown of the late 19th and early 20th century (until the London West End Chinatown was established). The Chinese references can be heard in both the lyrics and the melody.
Limehouse Blues (also known as East End Chant) is a 1934 American crime film set in London's Chinese district and starring George Raft and Anna May Wong. The film is named after the song "Limehouse Blues". It was directed by Alexander Hall.
The film was not a commercial success when first released.

Limehouse is a district in east London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Located 3.9 miles (6.3 km) east of Charing Cross, It is on the northern bank of the River Thames opposite Rotherhithe and between Ratcliff to the west and Millwall to the east.
Limehouse stretches from Limehouse Basin in the west to the edge of the former Chinatown in Pennyfields in the east; and from the Thames in the south to the Victory Bridge at the junction of Ben Jonson Road and Rhodeswell Road in the north.
The area gives its name to Limehouse Reach, a section of the Thames which runs south to Millwall after making a right-angled bend at Cuckold's Point, Rotherhithe. The west-to-east section upstream of Cuckold's Point is properly called the Lower Pool
The name relates to the local lime kilns or, more precisely, lime oasts, by the river and operated by the large potteries that served shipping in the London Docks. The name is from Old English līm-āst "lime-oast". The earliest reference is to Les Lymhostes, in 1356.
Limehouse (foaled February 26, 2001 in Florida) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse. Campaigned by W. Cothran Campbell's Dogwood Stable and trained by leading trainer Todd Pletcher, the chestnut son of popular sire Grand Slam was purchased at the Fasig-Tipton sale (August 2002) as a yearling for $140,000.
During his racing career, Limehouse won 7 of 21 starts, including the 2003 Bashford Manor Stakes (Grade 3), the 2004 Hutcheson Stakes (Grade 2), the 2004 Tampa Bay Derby (Grade 3), and the 2005 Brooklyn Handicap (Grade 2). He also ran 3rd in the 2004 Blue Grass Stakes (Grade 1) and was 4th behind Smarty Jones in the 2004 Kentucky Derby at 42/1 odds.
Limehouse was retired sound after running 6th in the Breeders' Cup Mile in 2005 and currently performs stud duties at Vinery in Lexington, Kentucky for a fee of $17,500 for a single live cover breeding. His first crop will be of racing age in 2009.

Burt Reynolds recalls the most terrifying scene during the filming of Smokey and the Bandit. He remembers the scene where Sally Fields' stunt double was behind the wheel and he was in the passenger seat. They were supposed to jump over a wall, land in the Little League baseball field, go AROUND the game, and then through another wall. However, that's not exactly what happened. Instead of going around the game, the stunt woman panicked and they ended up flying over all the kids in the field. Luckily, they all ducked and nobody was hurt. But as you can imagine it could've ended quite differently and put an end to a lot of peoples careers... The Ballad Of Gator Mcklusky
Jerry Reed
He was raised in the swamp
In the back of a slough
He grew up eatin' rattlesnake meat
And drinkin' homemade brew
Now folks here about call him Gator
And everybody knows him well
Meanest man ever to hit the swamp
Folks swear he come straight outta hell
Well Gator McKlusky sittin' on a stump
Hammer pulled back on a twelve gauge pump
Watchin' that swamp lookin' out for the law
While he make the best corn liquor you ever saw
(Rock gut whiskey...)
While he's makin' that mash he watches and he looks
Old Gator he knows that swamp like a book
Somethin' out there movin' Gator whaddaya see
Ain't nothin' but the snakes and the gators and me
Everything's okey-dokey in the Okefenokee
That sheriff ain't snoopin' around
So cook that moonshine down
'Til it's good and clear
Everything's okey-dokey in the Okefenokee
That sheriff he'd soon mess around with the devil
Than to get his self long messin' around in here
One day he was cookin' some mash he was almost done
When they spotted the law and they had to run
So he headed for the swamp and they followed him in
But the law might as well been a-chasin' the wind
(Look out for that snake, sheriff...)
Well they chased on back through the muck and the slime
To the back of that swamp where the sun don't shine
But the law won't never catch Gator my friend
'Cause he knows that swamp like the back of his hand
Watch out boys old smokey's in the Okefenokee
The sheriff's out there snoopin' around
So shut that business down
And let's disappear
Look out boys old smokey's in the Okefenokee
But that sheriff he's really gonna catch the devil
If he keeps on snoopin' around in here
(Gator's in the swamp, sheriff...)
(Go get him...)
(If you can...)
(Careful, sheriff...)
