Legislative assembly
Legislative assembly is the name given in some countries to either a legislature, or to one of its branch. The name is used by a number of member-states of the Commonwealth of Nations, as well as a number of other countries, with notable examples being that of the Australian States, which each have a legislative assembly as a Lower House.
Legislative assemblies in the Commonwealth
The modern-day legislative assembly in a Commonwealth country, either as a national or sub-national parliament, is in most cases an evolution of one of these colonial legislative chambers.
In a number of territories, the name House of Assembly is used instead.
Examples of legislative assemblies in Commonwealth countries
In India, the lower or sole house of each constituent state's parliament is called the legislative assembly, or Vidhan Sabha. The same name is also used for the lower house of the legislatures for two of the union territories, Delhi and Puducherry. The upper house in the seven states with a bicameral legislature is called the legislative council, or Vidhan Parishad. Members of the former are called MLAs, and those of the latter MLCs.

Legislative Assembly (British Guiana)
The Legislative Assembly was the lower house of the Legislature in British Guiana between 1961 and 1964.
History
A new constitution was promulgated on 18 July 1961, replacing the unicameral Legislative Council with the Legislature. The new body consisted of a 13-member Senate and a 36-member Legislative Assembly. Whilst the 13 members of the Senate were nominated, the Legislative Assembly was elected, and consisted of 35 members elected in single-member constituencies, and a Speaker elected by the elected MPs.
Elections to the new Legislature were held on 21 August 1961. The People's Progressive Party (PPP) won 20 seats, the People's National Congress (PNC) won 11 and the United Force four. Both houses convened for the first time on 5 October 1961, when members elected Rahman Baccus Gajraj as Speaker.
Although the PPP had only received 1.6% more of the vote than the PNC, it won almost double the number of seats. This resulted in mass demonstrations led by the PNC, a general strike and severe inter-racial violence. A few weeks after the elections the British authorities intervened by sending in troops and the Governor declared a state of emergency.

Legislative Assembly of Emilia-Romagna
The Legislative Assembly of Emilia-Romagna (Assemblea Legislativa dell'Emilia-Romagna) is the regional council, hence the regional legislative authority, of Emilia-Romagna.
It was first elected in 1970, when the ordinary Regions were instituted, on the basis of the Constitution of Italy of 1948.
Composition
The Legislative Assembly of Emilia-Romagna (Assemblea Legislativa dell'Emilia-Romagna) is composed of 50 members, of which 39 are elected in provincial constituencies with proportional representation, 11 from the so-called "regional list" of the elected President and the last one is for the candidate for President who comes second, who usually becomes the leader of the opposition in the Council. If a coalition wins more than 55% of the vote, only 6 candidates from the "regional list" will be elected and the number of those elected in provincial constituencies will be 53.
The Assembly is elected for a five-year term, but, if the President suffers a vote of no confidence, resigns or dies, under the simul stabunt vel simul cadent clause (introduced in 1999), also the Assembly will be dissolved and there will be a fresh election.

On Thursday, February 2, the exhibition "The Sculptors of Speed" was inaugurated at the Palace of the Legislative Assembly of Emilia Romagna in Bologna. It's a superb exhibition of "mannequins" or "Mock-Ups" of the most beautiful bodywork made in aluminium by the Modenese master coachbuilders. The association is called ModenArt and brings together the latest sheet metal workers (a very simplistic term, I would say sculptors) who have worked at Carrozzeria Scaglietti. From their expert hands came masterpieces such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. Tra settembre 2019 e gennaio 2020, La Lega cercherà di conquistare il gioiello PDino, approfittandosi della bassa fiducia dei cittadini nei confronti della sinistra in cui non si riconoscevano più. Agli emiliani e ai romagnoli spettava scegliere se cadere nell’innovativo bigottismo e semplicismo Leghista o se imporsi e proteggere i valori di eguaglianza, tolleranza e europeismo, come fecero i partigiani 80 anni prima. Certo combattere i nazi-fascisti e manifestare in strada contro un paffutone come Salvini non è esattamente la stessa cosa, ma la gente lo ha fatto lo stesso con tanto entusiasmo e orgoglio, anche se, il partito di loro riferimento aveva messo i loro interessi in secondo piano.
Detto questo, andiamo a parlare del circo che è stata questa campagna elettorale. Salvini, facci sognare.

Michel interrupted Von der Leyen at EUCO Press conference!!! The breakdown in relations has started to impinge on the workings of the EU, according to officials from both institutions. Though the two leaders appear alongside each other at post-summit press conferences, dialogue on day-to-day matters between the leaders and their close staff is all but nonexistent.
In the nearly three years since their tenures began, relations between Michel and von der Leyen have undergone an extraordinary breakdown, with staff from the two institutions discouraged from communicating and the two leaders locking each other out from meetings with foreign dignitaries.
The dysfunctional partnership is not only impacting the EU’s legislative and political agenda, which depends on a delicate inter-institutional balancing act. It’s also threatening to undermine the EU’s standing in the world.
According to officials, the relationship started off calmly. “There were some minor hiccups, but nothing unexpected,” said one EU official. In the early months, the Council’s secretariat scheduled a weekly afternoon meeting between Michel and von der Leyen every Monday.
But though the meetings soon petered out, things didn’t completely fall apart until April 2021 after the two leaders traveled to Turkey to meet with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Cameras caught von der Leyen’s shocked reaction when Michel quickly snagged the only chair next to the Turkish president, leaving her to sit on a couch across from the Turkish foreign minister. The Commission president, the first woman to occupy the position, later told the European Parliament she was “hurt” by the incident, blaming the snub on sexism.
Dubbed “Sofagate,” the incident went viral globally, with the mutual (if not always public) recriminations driving a downward spiral in relations that has only worsened since.
At the height of the uproar, it was widely reported that Michel added insult to injury by canceling a regular Monday lunch with von der Leyen due to a conflict with a visit by an African head of state. Today, Council officials say that von der Leyen had repeatedly canceled the lunch meetings, even before Sofagate. “In reality, it never took place weekly.” Commission officials say the two meet “almost” every week in various fora, though the scheduled one-to-one has been abandoned.
In contrast, von der Leyen and Michel’s predecessors Juncker and Tusk met most weeks and had a good working relationship, helped by their previous acquaintance as prime ministers and despite differences over policy issues like migration.

On Thursday, February 2, the exhibition "The Sculptors of Speed" was inaugurated at the Palace of the Legislative Assembly of Emilia Romagna in Bologna. It's a superb exhibition of "mannequins" or "Mock-Ups" of the most beautiful bodywork made in aluminium by the Modenese master coachbuilders. The association is called ModenArt and brings together the latest sheet metal workers (a very simplistic term, I would say sculptors) who have worked at Carrozzeria Scaglietti. From their expert hands came masterpieces such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. These cars, on an aesthetic level, with the use of the "Filone" technique, the iron pipes that function as mannequins to create the 1:1 scale model and then beat the sheet metal into it to give it its shape, are on display here. Also present at the inauguration were the Master Coachbuilders, still alive, who worked on creating these awesome masterpieces. As the late art critic Philippe Daverio called them, the "Last Platonists". We are talking about people like Afro Gibellini and Oriello Leonardi. ModenArt is a project born from the idea of Jean-Marc Borel (we will all remember how he was the director of Bugatti Automobili in Campogalliano) and helped, among others, by Antonio Ghini, for years Communication and Brand Director of Ferrari Automobili. The exhibition will remain visible to the public, free of charge, from 2 to 12 February 2023, Viale Aldo Moro 50, Bologna. Enjoy! 😉
Giovedì 2 Febbraio si è svolta l'naugurazione della mostra "Gli Scultori della Velocità" presso il Palazzo dell'Assemblea Legislativa del'Emilia Romagna a Bologna. Si tratta di una splendida esposizione di "manichini" o "Mock-Up" delle più belle carrozzerie realizzato a mano, in alluminio, dai Maestri Carrozzieri Modenesi. L'associazione di chiama ModenArt e riunisce gli ultimi battilastra (termine molto riduttivo, direi scultori) che hanno lavorato alla Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Dalle loro sapienti mani sono usciti capolavori quali le Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. Queste vetture, a livello estetico, con l'utilizzo della tecnica del "Filone", i tubi di ferro che funzionano da manichino per realizzare il modello in scala 1:1 per poi batterci la lamiera per darne la forma, sono qui in esposizione. Presenti all'inaugurazione anche gli stessi Maestri Carrozzieri, ancora in vita, che hanno lavorato alla realizzazione di questi splendidi capolavori. Nella puntata precedente; abbiamo parlato di quella volta in cui il nostro eroe, Matteo Salvini, ha fatto cadere il suo governo che aveva formato con i cinque stelle di Di Maio mentre stava a mare. La crisi gli si è ritorta contro però, con Zingaretti che ha preso la palla al balzo e ha colto l’occasione di formare una nuova alleanza giallo-rossa. In questo episodio invece, ci sposteremo da Roma fino alle terre della bassa Padania, o meglio, l’Emilia Romagna, una regione storicamente rossa e sotto l’egemonia del partito democratico, controllo che da molti anni si assottiglia sempre di più e che ha creato un altissimo livello di astensionismo elettorale.
Tra settembre 2019 e gennaio 2020, La Lega cercherà di conquistare il gioiello PDino, approfittandosi della bassa fiducia dei cittadini nei confronti della sinistra in cui non si riconoscevano più. Agli emiliani e ai romagnoli spettava scegliere se cadere nell’innovativo bigottismo e semplicismo Leghista o se imporsi e proteggere i valori di eguaglianza, tolleranza e europeismo, come fecero i partigiani 80 anni prima. Certo combattere i nazi-fascisti e manifestare in strada contro un paffutone come Salvini non è esattamente la stessa cosa, ma la gente lo ha fatto lo stesso con tanto entusiasmo e orgoglio, anche se, il partito di loro riferimento aveva messo i loro interessi in secondo piano.
Detto questo, andiamo a parlare del circo che è stata questa campagna elettorale. Salvini, facci sognare.

The tenth event took place on Thursday the 21st of October at 15:00 CEST. The topic of this event is “How Emilia Romagna is including RRI in its RIS3“.
The main speakers of the 10th dialogue were Angelica Laterza, from the Emilia Romagna region, and Kristian Mancinone, social innovation expert at ART-ER the regional development agency of Emilia Romagna.
Angela Laterza presented the new Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) of Emilia Romagna. The new S3 has been updated in continuity with the former one. In fact, the results of the previous seven years were taken into account. The regional government noticed an evolution of technology, production systems, and, more important, the regional research ecosystem. The new S3 is also dealing with the new global challenges such EU cohesion policy 2021-2027 and Agenda 2030. In addition, the new S3 is also sustainable according to the Green Deal principles and the Regional Strategic Document 2021-2027.

A CALRE delegation of Presidents of several European Regional Legislative Assemblies visited the JRC - Joint Research Centre - of the European Commission in Ispra, Varese on November, 25 2016, on the occasion of a visit of a CoR delegation. The visit was a great opportunity for Regional Parliament Presidents to learn about the activities and the projects relevant to regional and territorial levels of government developed by the JRC, whose mission is to support EU policies as a science and knowledge service.

Michel interrupted Von der Leyen at EUCO Press conference!!! The breakdown in relations has started to impinge on the workings of the EU, according to officials from both institutions. Though the two leaders appear alongside each other at post-summit press conferences, dialogue on day-to-day matters between the leaders and their close staff is all but nonexistent.
In the nearly three years since their tenures began, relations between Michel and von der Leyen have undergone an extraordinary breakdown, with staff from the two institutions discouraged from communicating and the two leaders locking each other out from meetings with foreign dignitaries.
The dysfunctional partnership is not only impacting the EU’s legislative and political agenda, which depends on a delicate inter-institutional balancing act. It’s also threatening to undermine the EU’s standing in the world.
According to officials, the relationship started off calmly. “There were some minor hiccups, but nothing unexpected,” said one EU official. In the early months, the Council’s secretariat scheduled a weekly afternoon meeting between Michel and von der Leyen every Monday.
But though the meetings soon petered out, things didn’t completely fall apart until April 2021 after the two leaders traveled to Turkey to meet with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Cameras caught von der Leyen’s shocked reaction when Michel quickly snagged the only chair next to the Turkish president, leaving her to sit on a couch across from the Turkish foreign minister. The Commission president, the first woman to occupy the position, later told the European Parliament she was “hurt” by the incident, blaming the snub on sexism.
Dubbed “Sofagate,” the incident went viral globally, with the mutual (if not always public) recriminations driving a downward spiral in relations that has only worsened since.
At the height of the uproar, it was widely reported that Michel added insult to injury by canceling a regular Monday lunch with von der Leyen due to a conflict with a visit by an African head of state. Today, Council officials say that von der Leyen had repeatedly canceled the lunch meetings, even before Sofagate. “In reality, it never took place weekly.” Commission officials say the two meet “almost” every week in various fora, though the scheduled one-to-one has been abandoned.
In contrast, von der Leyen and Michel’s predecessors Juncker and Tusk met most weeks and had a good working relationship, helped by their previous acquaintance as prime ministers and despite differences over policy issues like migration.

On Thursday, February 2, the exhibition "The Sculptors of Speed" was inaugurated at the Palace of the Legislative Assembly of Emilia Romagna in Bologna. It's a superb exhibition of "mannequins" or "Mock-Ups" of the most beautiful bodywork made in aluminium by the Modenese master coachbuilders. The association is called ModenArt and brings together the latest sheet metal workers (a very simplistic term, I would say sculptors) who have worked at Carrozzeria Scaglietti. From their expert hands came masterpieces such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. These cars, on an aesthetic level, with the use of the "Filone" technique, the iron pipes that function as mannequins to create the 1:1 scale model and then beat the sheet metal into it to give it its shape, are on display here. Also present at the inauguration were the Master Coachbuilders, still alive, who worked on creating these awesome masterpieces. As the late art critic Philippe Daverio called them, the "Last Platonists". We are talking about people like Afro Gibellini and Oriello Leonardi. ModenArt is a project born from the idea of Jean-Marc Borel (we will all remember how he was the director of Bugatti Automobili in Campogalliano) and helped, among others, by Antonio Ghini, for years Communication and Brand Director of Ferrari Automobili. The exhibition will remain visible to the public, free of charge, from 2 to 12 February 2023, Viale Aldo Moro 50, Bologna. Enjoy! 😉
Giovedì 2 Febbraio si è svolta l'naugurazione della mostra "Gli Scultori della Velocità" presso il Palazzo dell'Assemblea Legislativa del'Emilia Romagna a Bologna. Si tratta di una splendida esposizione di "manichini" o "Mock-Up" delle più belle carrozzerie realizzato a mano, in alluminio, dai Maestri Carrozzieri Modenesi. L'associazione di chiama ModenArt e riunisce gli ultimi battilastra (termine molto riduttivo, direi scultori) che hanno lavorato alla Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Dalle loro sapienti mani sono usciti capolavori quali le Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. Queste vetture, a livello estetico, con l'utilizzo della tecnica del "Filone", i tubi di ferro che funzionano da manichino per realizzare il modello in scala 1:1 per poi batterci la lamiera per darne la forma, sono qui in esposizione. Presenti all'inaugurazione anche gli stessi Maestri Carrozzieri, ancora in vita, che hanno lavorato alla realizzazione di questi splendidi capolavori. Come li definì il compianto critico d'arte Philippe Daverio, gli "Ultimi Platonici". Stiamo parlando di persone quali Afro Gibellini ed Oriello Leonardi. ModenArt è un progetto nato dall'idea di Jean-Marc Borel (ricorderemo tutti come fosse il direttore della Bugatti Automobili a Campogalliano) ed aiutato tra gli altri da Antonio Ghini, per anni Direttore Comunicazione e Brand della Ferrari Automobili. La mostra resterà visibile al pubblico, gratuitamente, dal 2 al 12 Febbraio 2023, Viale Aldo Moro 50, Bologna. Buona visione! 😉

Legislative assembly
Legislative assembly is the name given in some countries to either a legislature, or to one of its branch. The name is used by a number of member-states of the Commonwealth of Nations, as well as a number of other countries, with notable examples being that of the Australian States, which each have a legislative assembly as a Lower House.
Legislative assemblies in the Commonwealth
The modern-day legislative assembly in a Commonwealth country, either as a national or sub-national parliament, is in most cases an evolution of one of these colonial legislative chambers.
In a number of territories, the name House of Assembly is used instead.
Examples of legislative assemblies in Commonwealth countries
In India, the lower or sole house of each constituent state's parliament is called the legislative assembly, or Vidhan Sabha. The same name is also used for the lower house of the legislatures for two of the union territories, Delhi and Puducherry. The upper house in the seven states with a bicameral legislature is called the legislative council, or Vidhan Parishad. Members of the former are called MLAs, and those of the latter MLCs.
