Brief Political History of Guyana
This video recounts the history of Guyana. From its first inhabitants to the Presidency of Irfaan Ali. It looks at how and why the Dutch colonized the area, why it became a British colony, the critical period of Cheddi Jagan's leadership and why it has had tumultuous politics since the 1950s especially during the regime of Forbes Burnham.

"If You're Foreign Don't Walk The Streets Here" 🇬🇾 (#105)
If you're one of the rare souls who decides to take a trip to Guyana, the least visited country in the Americas, chances are your first stop will be Georgetown, the capital city. With a population of only around 200,000, it looks and feels almost like a small town. But this city is no joke. With the newfound oil wealth driving prices up, crime is starting to skyrocket. Although everyone in Guyana suffers from theft, American oil workers and Chinese merchants in particular are hunted in the streets by muggers. I was no oil worker, but I was assumed to be one.

The History of the Three Guyanas
There's a region in South America that seems awkward, out of its place, but quite interesting. This is a place where Spanish, French, Portuguese, Dutch and English speakers all meet, where the French and EU flags wave on polls, and where indigenous groups live side by side with African communities. I'm talking about the Guianas, the north-eastern chunk of South America. And we're going to explore it today.

Flying into Guyana - First Impressions of Georgetown
How I Afford to Travel (Free Training) → https://www.twominuteincome.com
Our 10 day trip through Guyana starts here in the capital of Georgetown!
This was an incredible trip to one of the least visited countries in the world. We started in Georgetown and got the chance to try to make the famous Seven Curry, with Singing Chef Adventures. Then we went to the National Park to find the manatees, before finally ending up along the river for sunset.
From exploring the Amazon basin, to finding a harpies eagle nest, to staying in community eco lodges and finally flying to Kaiteur Falls - Guyana is a country to add your list.
Special thanks to Wilderness Explorers for the incredible itinerary - https://wilderness-explorers.com/

In this final video of my Guyana series, I will take you into the night of Georgetown, Guyana. At every turn, I was warned about the dangers of life in GT. Instead of remaining in the hotel I took to the streets to look for the vibe and experience what GT has to offer.

Check out Singing Chef Adventures - https://www.singingchefadventures.com/
Huge thanks to @jonny.melon for the extra drone footage.
