Underdogs of History: The Bolsheviks vs All of Russia
The October Revolution, or Bolshevik Revolution, was a takeover of the Russian government in 1917 by a group of radical socialists led by Vladimir Lenin, and was the second part of the Russian Revolution. This video examines all the groups and elements working against the Bolsheviks, and how they overcame them. It should also be made clear that the ‘underdog’ moniker in the title is not meant to frame the Bolsheviks positively. This is merely the first episode in a new series, ‘Underdogs of History’.

Were Jews Responsible for the Bolshevik Revolution?
Some Narrations by Grant Koch
I have made this documentary quite longer than usual and to date it is my longest video (apart from my economics lecture on lend lease). Here I tackle the issues of Jewish emancipation and over representation in the Bolshevik revolution with a certain academic flair. This video contains my largest list of sources ever compiled (40+), thus showing how serious I have taken this topic in order to dispel such an impacting myth. I know many of you requested that I complete this documentary, so I do hope you enjoy my work.
The video begins by outlining how exactly Jews ended up in Russia, as there were historically few Jews in both Kievan Rus, the tsardom of Muscovy, and the tsardom of Russia. It covers details on the religious tolerance of the Polish-Lithuanina c...

The Russian Revolution
The February Revolution (known as such because of Russia's use of the Julian calendar until February 1918) began on March 8, 1917 (or February 23 on the Julian calendar), when demonstrators clamoring for bread took to the streets in the Russian capital of Petrograd (now called St. Petersburg).

A council of workers called the St. Petersburg Soviet was created in all this chaos, and the beginning of a communist political protest had begun.
Overview. The Russian Revolution took place in 1917, during the final phase of World War I. It removed Russia from the war and brought about the transformation of the Russian Empire into the Union of ...

Forgotten Peasant Revolts Against Lenin - The Russian Civil War(s) 1920
Watch The Great War on Nebula: https://go.nebula.tv/the-great-war
Freeing peasants and workers from oppression was one of the main messages of the Bolsheviks. The peasants in the countryside were happy to get rid of the landowning class and supported socialist ideas of land reform but once the Bolsheviks turned to "War Communism" to maintain their power against the Whites and other forces, the reluctant support of the peasants dropped - and in 1920 they turned to open revolt.

It covers details on the religious tolerance of the Polish-Lithuanina commonwealth and delves into its partition, which caused a mass influx of Jewish immigrants into the Russian Empire. What resulted was the pale of settlement which was a region of restricted movement and habitation. I attempt to overlap this with Marxist theory as well to explain how Jews were drawn to the socialist movement given that they were largely Urban thus resonating with the Marxist proletarian message.
The second half of the video is arguably the most important because I take this background of repression in order to show the machinations of Jewish political movements in the heyday of the revolution. This goes hand in hand with an analysis of the different political organs of the Bolshevik government, like Sovnarkom, Politburos, and so on. As expected I conclude that Jews were over represented, but not by as much as many people like to claim. The problem is other ethnic minorities were also over represented so this becomes a whataboutery argument. Finally to conclude, I delve into Stalinism albeit briefly in order to show that the character of the Soviet Union was not inherently one to be Jewish.
I hope you all find this video worth the wait and would appreciate any support via my patreon page. Thank you all!
Also with massive thanks to my friend Zoya for translating!

The February Revolution (known as such because of Russia's use of the Julian calendar until February 1918) began on March 8, 1917 (or February 23 on the Julian calendar), when demonstrators clamoring for bread took to the streets in the Russian capital of Petrograd (now called St. Petersburg).
The Russian Revolution of 1905 was said to be a major factor to the February Revolutions of 1917. The events of Bloody Sunday triggered a line of protests. A council of workers called the St. Petersburg Soviet was created in all this chaos, and the beginning of a communist political protest had begun.
Overview. The Russian Revolution took place in 1917, during the final phase of World War I. It removed Russia from the war and brought about the transformation of the Russian Empire into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), replacing Russia's traditional monarchy with the world's first Communist state.
1917 Russian Revolution. The 1917 Russian Revolution was not, as many people suppose, one well organised event in which Tsar Nicholas II was overthrown and Lenin and the Bolsheviks took power.
Bolshevik, ( Russian: “One of the Majority”) , plural Bolsheviks, or Bolsheviki, member of a wing of the Russian Social-Democratic Workers' Party, which, led by Lenin, seized control of the government in Russia (October 1917) and became the dominant political power.

The Political Spectrum Explained In 4 Minutes
In the modern political world, the terms ‘left-wing’ and ‘right-wing’ can often be heard and misunderstood. But what do these terms mean and where do they come from? The terms Left and Right were first used in an ideological context during the French Revolution of the 18th century. Those on the left were in support of the revolution and those on the right supported the monarchy. This idea of the left supporting change and the right wanting to keep the status quo continues today and is key in some of their philosophy.

What is the Political Spectrum? | Left Vs Right
This video describes what a political spectrum is, and what it is used for. It goes into the most common political spectra called the Left-Right spectrum and what each side is in simplistic terms. It then charts out different political theories and ideologies, policies, and parties from the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Poland. Afterwards, it concludes with some caution about the left-right spectrum and why it is important to understand what it is when analyzing bias in the media, politics, and in yourself.

To discover the origins of the left v right paradigm, one must go as far as 1789 with the creation of the National Constituent Assembly, whose main task was to create a constitution. Now, while France is proudly republican today and any trace of royalty has long been guillotined away, that wasn’t always the case and a large portion of the population supported the King, or at least those who represented that population. As such when on November 11th, 1789, the assembly had to vote on whether the constitution would grant the King an absolute veto or a partial veto, those who favored an absolute veto were asked to sit on the right of the President of the Assembly and those who favored a partial veto, which was the more radical position, were asked to sit on the President of the Assembly. This wasn’t done symbolically but… to make the vote count easier for the President of the Assembly who felt a bit overwhelmed by the 1,500 deputies. And just like that, France started this idea of change vs tradition, of liberalism vs conservatism which still shapes the political landscape to this day!
It would take another century before the left vs right spectrum became popular outside of France. In the beginning of the 20th century, as revolutions were sprouting across the world, the press and academics needed a quick way to categorize the different ideologies that were fighting each other, especially as these ideologies, both left and right, became increasingly radical. For example, the Bolsheviks, who loved anything related to the French revolution, immediately embraced the leftwing v rightwing spectrum but used themselves as the center. In England, however, it took longer to become popular and books only started referencing it in the late 1920s. Adoption in the US was just as slow but eventually, as partisanship increased in the 1960s during the civil rights movement, the idea of a left vs right political spectrum cemented along the beliefs of both parties.
Well, often the political spectrum looks something like this. On the left side of politics, you tend to see ideas like liberty, equality (aka egalitarianism), progress, and internationalism. On the right side of politics, you tend to see ideas like authority, hierarchy, tradition, and nationalism. On the left, you often see reform, while on the right, you often see reaction. Those on the left tend to want MORE government involvement to make society better. They want it more top down, while those on the right tend to want LESS government involvement to make society better. They want it bottom up. Ideas on the left are often called “liberal” and ideas on the right are often called “conservative.”
