The Music were an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their debut album, The Music, in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, Welcome to the North (2004) and Strength in Numbers (2008), before parting ways in 2011.
The Music all met at Brigshaw High School, except Phil Jordan who went to Garforth, and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001 the song "Take the Long Road and Walk It" circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. Around this time the NME and Steve Lamacq were describing them as the best unsigned band in Britain. The band were quickly signed by Hut, who released their first EP You Might as Well Try to Fuck Me.
In 2002, following another EP (The People) they released their eponymous début album which reached No. 4 in the UK album charts. Their début single was re-issued as part of a two-disc set to promote the album, and reached No. 14 in the singles chart. Two further singles from the album, "Getaway" and "The Truth is No Words" reached No. 26 and No. 18 respectively. June 2003 saw them filling in for an absent Zwan on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
Kamal Humphrey De Iruretagoyena, better known by his stage name Radioinactive, is an indie hip hop artist from Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the Shape Shifters collective. He was a member of Log Cabin along with Eligh, Murs and Scarub. He has released a number of solo albums, as well as collaborating with artists such as Busdriver, Daedelus and Antimc.
Radioinactive released the first album, Pyramidi, on Mush Records in 2001.The Weather, his collaborative album with rapper Busdriver and producer Daedelus, was released on the label in 2003.
In 2004, he released Free Kamal with producer Antimc. Josh Drimmer of Dusted Magazine said: "Intelligent and fun, it’s a good record to listen to with a cool glass of lemonade. And a dictionary."
The second solo album, Soundtrack to a Book, was released on Stranger Touch Records in 2006. Mason Jones of Dusted Magazine said, "Soundtrack to a Book is an excellent mini-album, perhaps the best yet from Radioinactive."
He released the third solo album, The Akashic Record, on Flying Carpet Studios in 2012.
The Music is the eponymous debut album by British rock band The Music, first released in September 2002. It was certified gold in Japan for 100,000 copies shipped in March 2003.
The UK release of this album also contains a track in the pregap called "New Instrumental", which plays upon rewinding from the start of "The Dance". A live version of this song also appeared as the B-side to "Take the Long Road and Walk It".
"Thank You for the Music" is a song by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was originally featured on the group's fifth studio album ABBA: The Album (1977), and was released as a single on 6 November 1983, to promote the Epic Records compilation album of the same name (similar compilations were released in other countries). The song "Our Last Summer", which was originally featured on the group's seventh studio album Super Trouper (1980), was the B-side. The song was simultaneously released in Ireland (as Epic were the licensees for both UK and Ireland), and later released in France (by Disques Vogue), with the same B-side but different artwork, and the Netherlands (by Polydor Records), with "Medley" as the B-side (and again, different artwork).
"Thank You for the Music" was also the B-side to the single "Eagle" in 1978, which itself was only released in limited territories, namely Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Australia (though in some territories, such as the Netherlands, it was released as a double A-side). "Thank You for the Music" also formed part of ABBA: The Movie. It was released as an A-side single in South Africa where it peaked at number 2 in August 1978 and became the eighteenth best-selling single of that year.
Thank You for the Music is a song by ABBA
Lala VC (20 April 1876 – 23 March 1927) was an Indian recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth soldiers.
Lala was born at Parol, Hamirpur district, Himachal Pradesh, India in 1876. He entered the Indian Army in February 1901. He was 38 years old, and a Lance-Naik in the 41st Dogras, Indian Army, when he was awarded the VC during World War I for most conspicuous bravery.
The citation reads:
Finding a British officer of another regiment lying close to the enemy, he dragged him into a temporary shelter, which he himself had made, and in which he had already bandaged four wounded men. After bandaging his wounds he heard calls from the Adjutant of his own regiment who was lying in the open severely wounded. The enemy were not more than one hundred yards distant, and it seemed certain death to go out in that direction, but Lance Naik Lala insisted on going out to his Adjutant, and offered to crawl back with him on his back at once. When this was not permitted, he stripped off his own clothing to keep the wounded officer warmer, and stayed with him till just before dark, when he returned to the shelter.

Proudly presenting THE MUSIC OF SOUND: a concept album exploring the musicality of life. https://bit.ly/2PmKAX4 | Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with manipulating sound. At age 10, armed with a crappy computer mic and windows ’95, I stayed up late pitching my voice up and down, recording random shit around the house and crafting weird sonic atmospheres. It’s clear now how these early childhood experiments laid the foundation for my musical style and creative path. My new album is a modern expression of that childhood obsession - a juicy musical blend of sounds from nature, electronics, everyday life, and pop culture, interlaced with wisdom from musicians and philosophers. But in the end, using words to describe music is pointless. The only way to understand it is to ...

June 2003 saw them filling in for an absent Zwan on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
sometimes so high
sometimes so low
what’s this about
you’ll never know
serve as a slave
to eerie sounds
throughout your days
they never leave
my hips are throbbing with alien rhythms
my heart is pounding with alien riffs
my head is full of alien melodies
the music is my home
I’m in here all alone
at times it feels so safe
sometimes it’s gotta burn
sometimes it’s gotta burn
music fills up my brains
music flows in my veins
music at night and day
