Shōjo Comic(少女コミック, commonly abbreviated to 少コミ Shōkomi, Sho-Comi or Shōcomi) is a shōjo mangamagazine published twice monthly in Japan by Shogakukan since 1968. It was originally published weekly and it continued to be published weekly until the 1980s. Many influential shōjo manga ran in Shōjo Comic during the 70s. Moto Hagio's works and Keiko Takemiya's works in particular were very groundbreaking.
The manga it features is marketed to appeal to girls from late middle school through high school. Originally the manga in Shōjo Comic were very tame, and rarely featured anything that could be considered sexual in content, not even kissing scenes. Over time, with successful stories such as Mayu Shinjo's series Kaikan Phrase (Sensual Phrase), which was heavy in sexual content, Shōjo Comic is now seen as having more sexual content than its competitors Margaret and Hana to Yume.
The manga series from this magazine are later compiled and published in book form (tankōbon) under the Flower Comics imprint.

What Is Shoujo Manga?
The demographics in manga can be confusing for those of us not living in Japan. Especially when it comes to shoujo which most people will deem as any series with romance or a female main character. But what is shoujo exactly? And can we decipher what they look like?

Shojo Beat is an imprint from the company Viz Media that publishes works of manga geared towards young girls and women. It has been around for more than 10 years now but has the label grown at all since its conception? Or has it lost relevancy even during the manga boom?

...an animatic? I dont even know if i can call this an animatic anymore-- but it's what usually what I call these type of videos. Oh well.
Anyway, wow, I'm weirdly proud of myself for finishing this!! This silly old video was in my WIP for like 3 years? (ಠ_ಠ) Damn. It's a miracle it even got to see the light of day.
The art style might be inconsistent since I literally took a 2-year break in between. It's so weird since it feels like I'm looking at someone else's drawings.
And the characters! Yu (the dumbass girl) and Fei, her friend who begrudgingly indulges in her weird skit during a rehearsal break.

This episode delves into the history, evolution, and highlights of Shojo manga, Japanese comics aimed at teen girls. There’s some surprising depth to the stories thanks to its golden age in the 1970s featuring the works of the Year 24 Group. From originators like Osamu Tezuka to innovators like Moto Hagio and Keiko Takemiya, this episode also discusses influences both local and worldwide.
Hello and welcome ladies and gentlemen, today we are taking a look at the early history of shoujo manga, Pre-Year 24.

The demographics in manga can be confusing for those of us not living in Japan. Especially when it comes to shoujo which most people will deem as any series with romance or a female main character. But what is shoujo exactly? And can we decipher what they look like?

It has been a whole year since my second video I ever posted 'The Decline of Shoujo Anime' came out. A video that put me on the map as a youtuber and pushed me to make content on the platform. However a lot changes in a year... And I'm coming in hot with new information and shoujosei anime to promote.

Ella was transported. She’d grown up reading shōjo manga, or “girls’ comics,” and drawing art based on the Japanese countercultural styles she saw within them — the clothes, she assumed, were “very cute but unattainable” in America... She’s not alone ... .
The comics might look like sexist male fantasies, but many come from the tradition of shōjo manga, drawn by and for women, featuring empowering stories that defy traditional gender stereotypes.
