La Reina High School is a private Catholic college preparatory junior and senior high school for girls sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame, founded in 1850 in Coesfeld, Germany. The Christian education of youth has always been the Congregation's principal apostolic activity.
La Reina was established in the fall of 1964. The school campus is situated on a 40-acre (160,000m2) parcel of land. The three original buildings were completed between 1964-1967. James Francis Cardinal McIntyre dedicated La Reina on October 15, 1967. The multipurpose building, now consisting of an auditorium-gym, cafeteria, five classrooms, a mock trial room, a computer lab, and nine offices was built in 1986. This building completed the campus, increasing the maximum enrollment from 400 to approximately 620.
La Reina (Spanish: "The Queen") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. It was originally the Larraín family ranch; the corruption of the Larraín surname gives the area its unusual name. It was created in 1963 from an eastern portion of the Ñuñoa commune.
La Reina is a leafy, residential commune, inhabited by mostly mid to upper-mid income families, with certain areas inhabited by mid-low (Villa La Reina) and high-income (La Reina Alta, towards the east) groups. It consistently ranks in the top five communes with the best quality of life in the Metropolitan Region. A small airport —Aerodrómo Eulogio Sánchez Errázuriz (better known as Tobalaba)— is located on the southern part. The military recently opened its new hospital complex along the commune's main avenue Avenida Larraín.
Demographics
According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, La Reina spans an area of 23.4km2 (9sqmi) and has 96,762 inhabitants (44,293 men and 52,469 women), making the commune an entirely urban area. The population grew by 4.7% (4,352 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses. The 2006 projected population was 96,551.
La Reina (also known as the Creole cattle) is a Nicaraguan local breed originating from the Bos taurus varieties brought to America during the Spanish colonization in the 15th century. In the 1950s Joaquin Reyna and her uncle Juan Diego Sol, both being Nicaraguan breeders, formed a herd with approximately 200 females with typical characteristics of Creole cattle from which the Reyna breed was created, their name originating from Juan Diego Sol himself. Selection of animals was focused on red coat colour (sorrel) and milk production. The Nicaraguan government started an official inventory in the 1970s and in 1988 the Reyna cattle were declared as national patrimony, and in conjunction with the National Agrarian University of Nicaragua (Universidad Nacional Agraria) (UNA) agreed to a genetic improvement program of the cattle.
The purebred Reyna Creole cattle population in Nicaragua consists of about 650 purebred females, including calves, heifers and cows distributed in five herds. Considering four herds with records the number of cows presently amount to 285.
In most jurisdictions, secondary education in the United States refers to the last four years of statutory formal education (grade nine through grade twelve) either at high school or split between a final year of 'junior high school' and three in high school.
History
The United States historically had a demand for general skills rather than specific training/apprenticeships. High school enrollment increased when schools at this level became free, laws required children to attend until a certain age, and it was believed that every American student had the opportunity to participate regardless of their ability.
In 1892, in response to many competing academic philosophies being promoted at the time, a working group of educators, known as the "Committee of Ten" was established by the National Education Association. It recommended twelve years of instruction, consisting of eight years of elementary education followed by four years of high school. Rejecting suggestions that high schools should divide students into college-bound and working-trades groups from the start, and in some cases also by race or ethnic background, they unanimously recommended that "every subject which is taught at all in a secondary school should be taught in the same way and to the same extent to every pupil so long as he pursues it, no matter what the probable destination of the pupil may be, or at what point his education is to cease."
Upon its release, "High School" received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who felt its production was reminiscent of her earlier mixtape tracks. It peaked at number 64 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and additionally reached numbers 15 and 20 on the BillboardHot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs component charts. Elsewhere, the track charted moderately throughout international singles charts, including number 31 on the UK Singles Chart.
An accompanying music video was directed by Benny Boom, in which Minaj is depicted in the midst of an affair with Lil Wayne. The clip additionally includes footage of the "Pink Pill", a variation of the "Beats Pro" speaker created by Beats Electronics in collaboration with Minaj.
