From late 2010, Kim Jong-un was viewed as heir apparent to the leadership of the nation, and following his father's death, he was announced as the "Great Successor" by North Korean state television. At Kim Jong-il's memorial service, Chairman of the Supreme People's AssemblyKim Yong-nam declared that "Respected Comrade Kim Jong-un is our party, military and country's supreme leader who inherits great comrade Kim Jong-il's ideology, leadership, character, virtues, grit and courage". On 30 December 2011, the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea formally appointed Kim as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army. In April 2012, the 4th Party Conference elected him to the newly created post of First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Kim Jong (born 19 April 1989) is a North Korean table tennis player. She competed for North Korea at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She won gold medals in mixed doubles events with Kim Hyok-bong at the 2013 World Championships and the 2014 Asian Games.
During Kim's regime the country suffered from famine, partially due to economic mismanagement, and had a poor human rights record. Kim involved his country in state terrorism and strengthened the role of the military by his Songun, or "military-first", politics. Kim's rule also saw tentative economic reforms, including the opening of the Kaesong Industrial Park in 2003.
North Korea (listen), officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK; Chosŏn'gŭl:조선민주주의인민공화국;hancha:朝鮮民主主義人民共和國;MR:Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk), is a country in East Asia, in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. The name Korea is derived from the Kingdom of Goguryeo, also spelled as Koryŏ. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang. North Korea shares a land border with China to the north and northwest, along the Amnok (Yalu) and Tumen rivers, and a small section of the Tumen River also forms a border with Russia to the northeast. The Korean Demilitarized Zone marks the boundary between North Korea and South Korea.
Korea emerged as a singular political entity after centuries of conflict among the Three Kingdoms of Korea, which were unified as Silla (57 BC – AD 935) and Balhae (AD 698 – 926). The united Silla was eventually succeeded by Goryeo in 935 at the end of the Later Three Kingdoms period. Goryeo, which gave name to the modern exonym "Korea", was a highly cultured state and created the Jikji in the 14th century. The invasions by the Mongol Empire in the 13th century, however, greatly weakened the nation, which forced it into vassalage. After the Yuan dynasty's collapse, severe political strife followed. Goryeo eventually fell to an uprising led by General Yi Seong-gye, who established Joseon in 1388.

Kim Jong Un Returns to North Korea After Putin Summit in Russia
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has returned home from a trip to Russia where he deepened “comradely fellowship and friendly ties” with President Vladimir Putin, state media reported.
During Kim’s six-day trip to Russia, his longest foreign travel as a leader, the two countries said they discussed boosting their defense ties but didn’t disclose any specific steps. Foreign experts speculate the two countries, both locked in confrontations with the West, were pushing to reach arms transfer deals in violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions.
The official Korean Central News Agency in separate reports said Kim’s train crossed a border river on Monday morning and Kim was greeted by the “ardent” cheers of a huge crowd at a Pyongyang rail station Tuesday evening. Wednesday’s KNCA report sa...

North Korea Bans Laughing! | Kim Jong Un | Dhruv Rathee
President and dictator Kim Jong Un has banned laughing, drinking, and even shopping in North Korea for 11 days as a part of mourning on the 10th anniversary of his father Kim Jong-il. People are not even allowed to cry out loud and take bodies to cremation if someone dies during this period. These rules might sound weird and funny to us, but this is a serious concern as the citizens of North Korea are brainwashed to the extent that they do not even know what's right and what's wrong. Watch this video where I explain these rules and why they are a problem in the 21st century.

Putin Meets North Korea's Kim Jong Un at Russian Space Center
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Putin arrived at a Russian space center for their first summit in four years, which the US said could focus on weapons deals that help the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine
Putin has arrived at the Vostochny Cosmodrome space center in the Amur region Wednesday, Interfax reported from the site, and Kim arrived after Putin, it said. Video from the center showed Kim in a suit stepping out of a limousine and shaking hands with Putin.
Shortly before the meeting, North Korea put on a display of force, firing two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off its east coast, South Korea’s military said. It was likely the first time North Korea has launched ballistic missiles with Kim out of the country.

Wednesday’s KNCA report said senior North Korean officials congratulated him on advancing relations with Russia.

The US has said that Kim and Putin are likely to discuss North Korea providing artillery and rockets to Russia for its war in Ukraine. Kim may be looking for food aid and technology to support his plans to deploy a nuclear-powered submarine and spy satellites.

North Korea released a new song praising leader Kim Jong Un for being a "friendly father" and a "great leader". The music video for the song was aired on the state-controlled Korean Central Television on Wednesday (Apr 17), in a move that appears to be part of a propaganda drive to enhance his standing.

Wednesday’s KNCA report said senior North Korean officials congratulated him on advancing relations with Russia.

The US has said that Kim and Putin are likely to discuss North Korea providing artillery and rockets to Russia for its war in Ukraine. Kim may be looking for food aid and technology to support his plans to deploy a nuclear-powered submarine and spy satellites.

I can smash a glass against the wall, pick up the pieces and we’re better for it. ‘Cause you know everybody weds, then the beast can mow the lawn, and the queen can feed the kids. And we’ll be better for it. I’m not impressed, suburbia. Could you do a little better for me? I’m gonna smile ‘till my teeth ache, I am determined for my family’s sake. Happily married like the rest of them, I’m better ‘cause I buy American. I’m not impressed suburbia.
