SCREAM franchise, In-Depth Interview w/ Horror creator Kevin Williamson!
After writing the 1996 mega-hit, “Scream,” Kevin Williamson became the go-to horror screenwriter — composing scripts for films like “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Halloween H20,” “The Faculty,” “Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” and even this year’s pandemic slasher, “Sick.” Tune in to hear stories about writing so many of our favorite horror films, like which “Scream 2” scene was originally meant for “IKWYDLS,” what real-life experience inspired “Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” why he didn’t receive an official writing credit on “Halloween H20,” and his intended stories for “Scream 5” & “Scream 6.”

Scream: Kevin Williamson Confirms Matthew Lillard’s Stu Is Dead
Many of you know how strongly I believe that Matthew Lillard's Stu is dead, dead, dead at the end of Scream, but certain people (perhaps a certain Merri Hour co-host?) love bringing up theories claiming Stu actually managed to survive getting stabbed too deep and having a TV dropped on his head.
Need more proof that Stu is, indeed, dead? How about confirmation straight from Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson?

Scream: Kevin Williamson Confirms Matthew Lillard’s Stu Is Dead
Despite the Scream franchise’s body count, there’s one character that fans haven’t been able to put to rest. Fortunately, Collider’s Perri Nemiroff went straight to the source to mine for solid answers to theories that have been circulating since 1997. 'Sick' Review: The Latest Film From 'Scream' Writer Kevin Williamson — Rewind of the Living Dead
#horror #horrorpodcast #Sick
Kevin Williamson — best known as the screenwriter behind the original “Scream” as well as films such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “The Faculty” — was looking for a setting for a new slasher movie but he wasn’t sure if tackling a subject as serious as the COVID-19 global pandemic was something he should explore.
Previous attempts to set films during the pandemic had largely failed but he was inspired by other genre filmmakers like Jordan Peele, who have used movies to tackle hard-hitting issues while still making a truly compelling story.
Williamson timed his story for April 2020, which was just after the global pandemic really took hold and he kept his film small yet continued to look for ways to ratchet up the tension at every turn.
The plot...

Despite the Scream franchise’s body count, there’s one character that fans haven’t been able to put to rest. Fortunately, Collider’s Perri Nemiroff went straight to the source to mine for solid answers to theories that have been circulating since 1997. While talking with Scream’s original screenwriter, Kevin Williamson, we discovered the true fate of Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher.
In 1996, Wes Craven’s Scream offered its audience a slasher that did some healthy self-reflecting. From motive to suspects, every aspect of a good horror movie came under scrutiny by its cast, who seemed to know they were running the slasher gamut. Based on the screenplay by Williamson, horror buffs, on and off-screen, were pleasantly surprised by the big reveal when our final girl, Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, was cornered by not one unexpected killer, but two. As it turns out, Sid’s boyfriend, Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), and their friend Stu were taking turns slicing and dicing their way through Woodsboro High.

The plot centered around a pair of college friends who decide to quarantine at a family lake house far away from the city but they soon discover that being isolated doesn’t mean they are actually alone after a masked killer begins stalking them.
In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we’re going to put on our masks and spray down everything with Lysol as we review the 2023 slasher film “Sick”…
