The Jasper County Courthouse in Jasper, Texas is a building from 1889. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 1984. The courthouse was designed by Eugene T. Heiner in an Italianate style with clock tower. It was stuccoed and altered when additions were added in 1934 giving the building a Neoclassical look. The clock tower was removed in 1957. Another addition was built on in 1960.
The Jasper County Courthouse in Carthage, Missouri is a building from 1894. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. This highly photographed Richardsonian Romanesque edifice designed by architect Max A. Orlopp Jr. was constructed with local Carthage marble and has medieval castle features that include turrets, towers, and arches. It is the second most photographed building in Missouri. Museum and guided tours are open to the public. It remains in use by Jasper County officials.
The county clerk at the time the courthouse was approved was Annie White Baxter, the first woman to be elected a county clerk in the United States. As a member of county government, she exerted a significant degree of influence in the planning of the building,
and she is memorialized on the grounds.

In most counties in the United States, the local trial courts conduct their business in a centrally located courthouse which may also house county governmental offices. The courthouse is usually located in the county seat, although large metropolitan counties may have satellite or annex offices for their courts.
In some cases this building may be renamed in some way or its function divided as between a judicial building and administrative office building. Many judges also officiate at civil marriage ceremonies in their courthouse chambers. In some places, the courthouse also contains the main administrative office for the county government, or when a new courthouse is constructed, the former one will often be used for other local government offices. Either way, a typical courthouse will have one or more courtrooms and a court clerk's office with a filing window where litigants may submit documents for filing with the court.

All are named in honor of Sergeant William Jasper, a hero of the Revolutionary War: Bold Name indicates county sharing boundary with a Newton County. Five states have paired their two counties because of their namesake's common history.
Jasper County is the tenth studio album by country singer Trisha Yearwood. It was Yearwood's first studio album in four years since 2001's Inside Out.
Yearwood took a four-year break from recording after 2001 mainly because she began a relationship with Garth Brooks (whom she would later marry) and creative time. It was given a positive review by Allmusic, who called the album "one of her very best records."
