This area was inhabited by indigenous peoples for thousands of years before the European encounter. At the time of European-Americans settlement, it was inhabited by the Cherokee and Muscogee Creek peoples, who became known as among the Five Civilized Tribes of the Southeast.
The County was created on December 10, 1807, by an act of the Georgia General Assembly with land that was originally part of Baldwin County, Georgia. It became part of the new area of upland settlement through the South eventually known as the Black Belt, and a center of large plantations for short-staple cotton. Invention of the cotton gin in the late 18th century had made processing of this type of cotton profitable, and it was cultivated throughout the inland areas. As migration continued to the west, the county population rapidly rose and fell through the nineteenth century. Georgia settlers pushed Congress for the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which eventually forced most of the Native Americans west of the Mississippi River.
Jasper County is the name of eight counties in the United States of America. All are named in honor of Sergeant William Jasper, a hero of the Revolutionary War: Bold Name indicates county sharing boundary with a Newton County. Five states have paired their two counties because of their namesake's common history.
Jasper County is the tenth studio album by country singer Trisha Yearwood. It was Yearwood's first studio album in four years since 2001's Inside Out.
Yearwood took a four-year break from recording after 2001 mainly because she began a relationship with Garth Brooks (whom she would later marry) and creative time. It was given a positive review by Allmusic, who called the album "one of her very best records."
The album reached number 1 on the Billboard country albums chart. It was also her highest peak on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 4. Her final album for MCA Nashville, it produced the singles "Georgia Rain" and "Trying to Love You", which peaked at number 15 and number 52, respectively, on the Hot Country Songs charts; the latter was also a number 28 hit on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts. Later presses of the album also included "Love Will Always Win", a number 23-peaking duet with her husband, Garth Brooks, which was also on Brooks's 2006 The Lost Sessions album. The track "Who Invented the Wheel" was originally recorded by Anthony Smith on his debut album If That Ain't Country.

Jasper County Sheriff Donnie Pope said this started around 11:20 a.m. when a woman was walking along Grandview Road. The woman said a man in his 40s was clicking his gun at her, but luckily the gun wasn’t loaded.
Deputies were dispatched to the area. Pope said his deputies heard shots from a home and soon were taking fire. The sheriff said the deputies returned fire, eventually hitting the man.
“It's a tragic enough situation already, anytime that there's loss of life. you never want anything like that to happen. but fortunately, none of our people were injured,” Pope said in a press conference Monday afternoon.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been asked to investigate the deputy-involved shooting.
Confirmed: #GBI at the scene of an officer involved shooting at the request of the Jasper County SO. Officers are ok. 1 male subject deceased.

``At age 14, DJ Spen began his career in music by producing radio edits and supermixes for WEBB AM in Baltimore. During that time he founded the regions first hip-hop/mix production group called Numarx whose popularity carried them into performing with national acts like LL Cool J, Run-D.M.C., and Eric B & Rakim.
In 1986, the group recorded its first full length LP entitled "It's Our Time" on Studio Records which featured the hit record "Girl You Know It's True" which was later covered by Milli Vanilli.
Spen became an on air personality and mix show director for WEBB, and after graduating from college, secured a job as late night personality for Majic 95.9 FM. This job landed him a late night hip-hop/house show on Friday nights, and the ol' skool formatted Flashback Saturday Night Dance Party for the station. Later, with the acquisition of two new stations in Washington D.C., Spen became Mix Show Director for the company.
While his radio career was changing constantly, Spen worked with the Basement Boys as a songwriter, drum programmer, and pre-production assistant. Involved with the company since 1989, his influence on early Crystal Waters and Ultra Nate projects can be heard.
With the start of Basement Boys Records in 1994, Spen formed the Jasper Street Company and released his first full production called "A Feelin'". Later, along with his partner Josane, Spen completed the Jasper St. Co. L.P. entitled "IN A SPENSANE WORLD". Spen is now a full time remixer/producer and a nightclub DJ worldwide.``

I wanna know, who invented the wheel. Tell me who discovered steel? It was the wheel an' the steel that caused this pain, An' made the car that took him away. I wanna know who invented the wheel. I wanna know, who found the rock. Tell me who laid the black top. It was the rock an' the black top that caused this pain, And made the road for the car, that took him away. I wanna know who invented the wheel. Somebody give me a name, 'Cause I just need someone to blame, For all of this heartache, And pain I've been feelin', Since he had to go, I wanna know. I wanna know who invented the time, I didn't spend when he was mine. It was all that time I didn't take... It was the rock and the black top that made the highway, For the wheel and the steel for the car, that took him away. Somebody give me a name, 'Cause I just need someone to blame, For all of this heartache, And pain I've been feelin', Since he had to go, I wanna know. I wanna know. I wanna know who invented the wheel.
