How to cook jasmine rice perfect every-single-time? Well, that’s real simple. Get the perfect rice to water ratio. I have shared tips and tricks to make perfectly cooked jasmine rice.
Prep Time: 1 minute
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Rest Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 4 cups
Ingredients
▢1 cup Thai jasmine rice
▢1 ¼ cup water
Instructions
1. If you choose to rinse rice, rinse until water in the bowl is clear.
2. Add rinsed rice to medium stainless steel sauce pan along with water.
3. Bring it to rapid simmer on medium high heat. You should see water bubbles tripling in the pan.
4. Cover pot with glass lid. Reduce heat to low and cook for 12 minutes undisturbed. Avoid the temptation to open lid and check.

You've been cooking Jasmine Rice wrong your whole life
Jasmine rice is softer than other white rice. So you only need 1 1/4 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice.
Also, if you buy your rice retail and you use 1 1/4 cups of water, it's totally fluffy whether you rinse or not.
In fact, if you rinse, you have to reduce the water by 2 tablespoons.
I did side by side taste tests, and the difference was barely noticeable. Rinsing rice is a pain. Skip it - just use the right amount of water!
CAVEAT: If you guy direct from rice farmers or other places not retail (ie in shiny plastic packets) then you MUST RINSE to clean it :)

1 1/2 cups water, room temp
1 Cup Jasmine Rice
1 tablespoon olive or canola oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, opional
1. In a 4-quart saucepan, over high-heat, bring water to boil.
2. Add rice, oil & kosher salt. Stir once. Bring to a second boil. Cover with tight fitting lid. Reduce heat to low/simmer. Cook for 15 minutes or until all the water has absorbed.
Serve while steaming hot!!

After Uncle Roger @mrnigelng posted about the BBC "chef" destroying rice for fried rice, I just HAD to make a video to better represent our golden grain.
A foolproof way to cook almost any rice on the stovetop! (note: brown rice or aged basmati may take more water and cook time)
Here we learn how to cook jasmine rice on the stovetop. While most people have rice cookers that take the guesswork out of the cooking process, this method is slowly becoming a lost art! Learn how to cook rice without burning it ever again! I certainly burnt my rice the first time I tried to cook it years ago!
This method works for any amount of rice, although you should increase the cook time by 5 minutes for 4 cups of rice!

About Pai:
Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the YouTube channel Pailin's Kitchen.
Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her "playtime" in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.
After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via YouTube videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes. We love making these Copycat Chipotle burrito bowls at home. I make chipotle chicken, cilantro lime rice, and fajita vegetables from scratch. Serve it up with your favorite toppings for a delicious and nutritious meal.

3 Tablespoons of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce plus 1 pepper
3 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ cup canola oil
2 Tablespoons white vinegar
2 lbs chicken thighs boneless, skinless
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 lime for squeezing on top of cooked chicken

1 large red onion thinly sliced
2 bell peppers (any color) thinly sliced

A foolproof way to cook almost any rice on the stovetop! (note: brown rice or aged basmati may take more water and cook time)
Here we learn how to cook jasmine rice on the stovetop. While most people have rice cookers that take the guesswork out of the cooking process, this method is slowly becoming a lost art! Learn how to cook rice without burning it ever again! I certainly burnt my rice the first time I tried to cook it years ago!
This method works for any amount of rice, although you should increase the cook time by 5 minutes for 4 cups of rice!
How much rice should you cook???
1 measured cup raw = 3-4 side servings cooked
All you'll need is:
rice
mixing bowl
saucepot with cover
water
NO SALT, NO OIL!
Instructions:
1. wash your rice in the mixing bowl till water runs clear
2. transfer to sauce pot
3. add enough water till it reached 1cm (or half an inch) above rice level
4. cover and bring to boil on MAX
5. when it just starts to steam, turn to low
6. leave covered and allow to cook 15-20mins
7. shut off heat and let sit at least 5mins
8. fluff rice and serve immediately
