Into the Storm (В бурю ; V Buryu ) is a 1939 Russian-language opera by Tikhon Khrennikov which won the approval of Stalin. Khrennikov composed the opera to a libretto by the dramatist Aleksei Faiko (ru) and original writer Nikolai Virta based on Virta's 1935 debut novel "Loneliness" («Одиночество»).
A group of high school students are in a car together in the night as a storm is brewing. When the storm gets worse, they look up ahead and see a tornado approaching. A girl begs for them to go, but the boy recording on a camera gets out to video tape the tornado. He gets back in the car, but the tornado picks them up before they can escape, killing them all.
In the town of Silverton, Oklahoma, the local high school senior class is preparing for graduation. The high school's vice-principal, Gary Fuller (Richard Armitage), has asked his two sons, Trey and Donnie, to record messages from the seniors for a time capsule to be opened in 25 years. Elsewhere, Pete (Matt Walsh), a veteran storm chaser, has been attempting to intercept and film tornadoes using a heavily armored Tornado Intercept Vehicle nicknamed Titus, but has come up short all year long. Upon learning of a major line of developing storms, the chasers confer and decide to head for Silverton in hopes of filming tornadoes. After arriving in Silverton, the team discovers that the cell they had been chasing has dissipated, upsetting Pete. As the team reconvenes to determine its next move, the Silverton cell abruptly strengthens, resulting in a hailstorm and tornado. As the team films, the funnel abruptly shifts course and heads for the high school.
The Second World War has recently ended in Europe, and the people of the United Kingdom are awaiting the results of the 1945 general election. During this time, Winston Churchill goes to France for a holiday with his wife Clemmie. Through a series of flashbacks, Churchill recalls some of his most glorious moments during the war, and the effect it had on their marriage.
Achilles’ most notable feat during the Trojan War was the slaying of the Trojan hero Hector outside the gates of Troy. Although the death of Achilles is not presented in the Iliad, other sources concur that he was killed near the end of the Trojan War by Paris, who shot him in the heel with an arrow. Later legends (beginning with a poem by Statius in the 1st century AD) state that Achilles was invulnerable in all of his body except for his heel. Because of his death from a small wound in the heel, the term Achilles' heel has come to mean a person's point of weakness.
Etymology
Achilles' name can be analyzed as a combination of ἄχος (akhos) "grief" and λαός (laos) "a people, tribe, nation." In other words, Achilles is an embodiment of the grief of the people, grief being a theme raised numerous times in the Iliad (frequently by Achilles). Achilles' role as the hero of grief forms an ironic juxtaposition with the conventional view of Achilles as the hero of κλέος kleos ("glory", usually glory in war).
The Achilles company built scooters and mopeds in West Germany between 1953 and 1957. The moped was powered by a 48cc engine, while the scooters were powered by 98cc and 123cc Sachs engines. When the factory closed down, the British Norman Cycles firm purchased the production equipment to manufacture their own moped.

From the film INTO THE STORM, Brendan Gleeson re-enacts Winston Churchill’s famous speech to the House of Commons on 4 June 1940, immediately following the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk and on the eve of a likely Nazi invasion of Great Britain. In reality, Unlike some of his other great wartime speeches, Churchill's 4 June speech in the House of Commons was not actually broadcast by Churchill on the radio; extracts were read on that evening's BBC news broadcast. Yet it often considered his finest oration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_shall_fight_on_the_beaches

"KBO" from Into the Storm
This scene features Brendan Gleeson playing Winston Churchill opposite Iain Glen as King George VI. (Plays Ser Jorah Mormon on GoT.) I always liked this scene because through out the film Churchill uses the term "Keep Buggering On". In the U.S. they allow the phrase "bugger" on prime time TV. It's actually quite a graphic term. For the scene with the King, they tastefully changed it to "Keep Buggling On". Trailer: https://youtu.be/bP59oLL6-lQ Buy or rent on youtube here: https://youtu.be/XfmGQL9tbtM

Into The Storm 2009 - New Trailer HD
this is a very enjoyable war drama without reaching any great heights in excitement. Brendan Gleeson acts well as Churchill and overall the film gives us a good impression of the difficulties of the time and how Churchill managed those difficulties and his 'assistants'. His fallibility as well as his leadership are well known and I agree with the earlier comment that the Stalin like character was terrific and a real star in his somewhat brief role. Roosevelt was well portrayed and you should not worry Mr Attley was portrayed as a Scot.

I'm going to make it by myself, It is the young man who still lives at home I'm going to make it on my own, It is the greyhead who can only moan I'm going to cut off all my ties, I'm going to wipe out all the lies, I'm going to leave the old disguises -- I'm leaving my home, the simple land I'm handing myself a helping hand Heading into he storm I'm going to get there by myself, It is the hero breaking up the house I'm going to make the morning train, I'm going to take whatever time allows I've got my maps and my guitar, Let my old friends prop up the bar Although the pst becomes a dear thing -- Six inches of soil, left behind Sun that used to smile, never mind Heading into the storm I'm going to make it by myself There has to be a time and place to say it I'm going to stand up on my own, If there's a pace then I'm the one to stay it I hear the voices from the sea, They say the world's the place for me I've got to leave my old disguises -- I'm leaving my home, simple land I'm handing myself a helping hand
