Adventures in Anarchist Autobiography | Sophie Scott-Brown| Anarchist Essays #42
In this essay, Sophie Scott-Brown explores the life and times of anarchist autobiography. From Proudhon to Kropotkin, Goldman to Read, many anarchists have written their life stories and provided generations of readers an intimate glimpse of the radical life, but what else motivates this sort of memory making? Moreover, how has it changed over time and what can it tell us about the relationship between anarchist ideas and anarchist identities?
Sophie Scott-Brown is a lecturer in Philosophy at UEA. Her latest book is Colin Ward and the Art of Everyday Anarchy (Routledge, 2022).
Our music comes from Them'uns (featuring Yous'uns).

So I took it upon myself to source as many of the tracks as I could so I could recreate this amazing mix with each edited track played in its entirety.
There's a slight caveat to that, though. I made sure to stay true to how Scott himself mixed them on the CD, so if he actually mixed a track halfway rather than editing half the track out and then still mixing at the outro, then I also mixed it halfway. That means this is a longer, fuller mix, but every single transition is identical to how it is on the original release.
Finally, I decided to up the BPM, from Scott's original 175 increasing to 178, I start at 178 and increase it to 183 when the Bouncy Techno hits towards the end.
