Animated Maps: Tectonic Plate Movement
This set of 41 paleo-elevation models (DEM) represents the changing paleogeography of the oceans and continents back to 540 million years ago (Cambrian-Precambrian Period). The snapshots of ancient elevation and bathymetry, based on the interpretation of the rock record, were estimated for time intervals 5 million years apart. The digital elevation model starts when Pangea split into the supercontinents of Laurasia (northern hemisphere) and Gondwana (southern hemisphere). These two continents subsequently subdivided to form the modern continents and ocean basins. India, which rifted from Gondwana ~100 million years ago collided with Asia to form the Himalaya mountains and Tibetan plateau 50 million years ago. The resolution of the data is 1 geographic degree.

Why There is No Bridge Between Europe and Africa
Have you ever wondered why there is no bridge between Europe and Africa? This video documentary examines the map of both continents, revealing the geography and distance that remains a barrier to a bridge joining the two landmasses. From the depths of the Mediterranean Sea to the tiny strait of Gibraltar, this informative video unpacks how geography has played a major role in isolating Europe and Africa. This will help you understand why there is no bridge between these two large continents and if there is any potential to ever build one (or a tunnel)

The EGU Committee on Education has organised Geosciences Information For Teachers (GIFT, http://www.egu.eu/education/gift/) Workshops since 2003. These are two-and-a-half-day teacher enhancement workshops held in conjunction with EGU's annual General Assembly. There, selected top-level scientists working in the Earth Sciences offer the invited teachers talks centered on a different theme every year.
The main objective of the GIFT workshops is to spread first-hand scientific information to science teachers of primary and secondary schools, significantly shortening the time between discovery and textbook, and to provide the teachers with material that can be directly transported to the classroom. In addition, the full immersion of science teachers in a truly scientific context (EGU General Assemblies) and the direct contact with world-leading geoscientists are expected to stimulate curiosity towards scientific research that the teachers then transmit to their pupils.
The use of GIFT videos is allowed exclusively for educational purposes.

3 potatoes. 3 carrots. 3 eggs. 4 slices of Havarti cheese. 150 g of fuet. 4 thin slices of jerky. 4 thin slices of Iberian ham. 8 thin slices of Iberian loin. 150 g of mayonnaise. Salt. Bread peaks. Parsley.
Preparation:
Cook the potatoes with their skin on the day before (30-35 minutes), the peeled carrots (20 minutes) and the eggs (10 minutes). When they are tempered, put them in the refrigerator and reserve them for the next day. Peel the potatoes and eggs, and grate them (with the widest part of the grater) into a bowl. Also grate the carrots. Cut the cheese slices into small cubes and add it. Remove the skin from the fuet, cut it into thin quarter moons and add it. Add the mayonnaise and a pinch of salt, and mix well. Place a ring (pastry cutter type) on a plate, fill it with the mixture and remove it. Assemble 3 other plates in the same way. Decorate each plate with 1 slice of cured meat, 1 of ham and 2 of loin. Prick the salads with some picks and decorate them with some parsley leaves.

3 potatoes. 3 carrots.
