Panzer Corps brings back the venerable tactical and strategic gameplay of the Five Star General series by the legendary SSI. If you don't remember it, imagine intricate multi-layered gameplay, grand offensives, and fierce struggle for victory across Europe and Africa in the largest armed conflict in recorded history - World War II.
Basic gameplay
Panzer Corps is a tactical game, where you don't need to worry about establishing bases or building units, but rather effectively using them in combined arms operations and defeat the enemy. All the action takes place on the tactical map which covers the majority of the screen. In most scenarios your goal is to capture or hold victory hexes, marked with golden border. Every unit may make one move and one attack per turn. A unit’s remaining actions are indicated by small icons above the unit’s strength plate.
Deployment
In a campaign game core units travel with you from battle to battle and auxiliary units may come temporarily under your control. At the deployment phase you are free to manage your core army – give the units green or use prestige to buy elite replacements, over-strengthen and upgrade them – all without using a turn. To do this, select a unit in the list and click the appropriate button in the UI sidebar. You can also purchase additional units by clicking Purchase button. Prestige is the games currency – you earn it by capturing cities and are allocated some at the start of each mission. You use it to repair and upgrade your units and recruit new units.
Losses from previous missions are not replaced automatically. You need to do this manually for every damaged unit if you want it to fight at full strength in the upcoming battle. At the deployment phase green replacements are free, so you can always bring your core units to full strength, but they will lose some experience in the process. By giving your units Elite replacements you preserve their hard earned experience, but this costs prestige.
Units with full experience stars are able to over-strengthen, i.e. increase its strength beyond the normal limit. A unit earns star for each 100 points of experience, and for each star it can be over-strengthened by one point. In order to over-strengthen a unit, just select the Elite Replacements button. Only one point of strength is added each turn. Note that over-strength points cost more than ordinary replacements, but every point of over-strength makes your elite units even stronger and resilient.
When you have finished allocating replacements and upgrades, deploy your core units on the map within the highlighted deployment zone. To deploy a unit, select it in the list and then select the deployment hex where you want to place it. You can use the strategic map to quickly find all potential deployment locations.
Units
All units are marked with their unit class icons. Axis units are gray, allied units are green. The strategic map can show ground or air units, but not both at the same time. Use the Toggle Ground/Air button to switch between showing ground and air units.
Units can move on the tactical map, with their range determined by terrain and weather conditions. After a unit has moved, you can undo its move and choose a different destination as long as the unit did not discover an enemy unit. To do this, use Undo Move button on the UI sidebar.
In most cases units with transports (infantry or towed guns) mount automatically when you move them further than they can walk, and they dismount automatically at the beginning of their turn. However, you can also mount and dismounts units manually using the Mount/Dismount button. This can be useful if you want to attack from your transport, or leave the unit loaded for the duration of the enemy’s turn.
Some units belong to a rare type of multipurpose units, which can change roles and switch between unit classes by using the Switch button. Note that after moving or attacking the unit cannot switch its role until its next turn.

We are playing Panzer Corps Gold.
Let's Play / English / Gameplay / walkthrough / playthrough / turn-based strategy / PC Game / Uncut / Full Gameplay with Comments / Digital Art / Second World War 2 / WW2 / Tactics / Lets Play
The PC game Panzer Corps Gold is a turn-based strategy game based on World War 2 events. It offers many historic and some fictive scenarios that can be experienced if the player is particularly successful – or unsuccessful. It is a successor to the classic and highly renown Panzer General series (which was first published in 1994 by SSI) and is relatively similar, but also sports some new features. Panzercorps Gold edition contains a great number of campaigns and scenarios for the Axis, the Allies and the Soviets.
The game was produced by The Lordz Games Studio and published by Slitherine Ltd. In 2011. It is being played on a hex-field map. It can be described as a more complicated (and more interesting) variant of chess.
The player has to chose which units to deploy, which to develop over the course of the campaign and sometimes has strategic choices that determine what kind of mission aka strategic map will be next. The game sports a great variety of thousands of units like different types of infantry, artillery, tanks, anti-air or anti-tank, cavalry, fighter planes, tactical bombers, strategic bombers and naval units many of which are historically accurate WW2 models. Getting to know the military gear of the phases of WW2 is a highly interesting topic that makes this game shine.
In the game as a military general the player's goal is not only to be successful in the missions but also to accumulate prestige. With prestige you pay for new units, replacements and technological upgrades.
The game focuses on pure strategy. That means for example that there are only limited logistical challenges, no production of war material and no further aspects of warfare like good or bad leadership of individual units or medical aid for the soldiers. Also the whole political dimension of WW2 is not implemented, and neither are aspects like war crimes or the crimes the SS and Wehrmacht committed in the conquered and occupied states or the Soviets committed for example in Poland or Ukraine. This unreflected approach makes the game too clean and a bit problematic especially when playing the Axis or the Soviets. So reading and thinking about the topic on your own is advised.
Still, it is an accessible and highly enjoyable game that is relatively easy to understand and relatively hard to master. I will comment here and there on history as I happen to know a thing or two about WW2.
In this Let's Play we will play the complete grand campaign on the side of the Axis starting in 1939 with the Nazi-German assault on Poland that started the events of WW2 all through all the war's fronts until the end of the war. We will play on difficulty level of “General” which will give the enemy a 150% prestige advantage and the highest level of AI. So there will be waves after waves of Polish tanks coming at us (those were pretty good ones in reality by the way, just not not used to their full potential).
We will role-play the game as an honest and honourable but somewhat ever more cynical general of the German Wehrmacht. Thus we will create our own narrative connecting all the missions.

Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge introduces players to the first downloadable content, immersing them in a dynamic and engaging narrative battlefield that unfolds during the epic Battle of the Bulge, starting a few days before the fateful date of December 16th, 1944.
The campaign kicks off with a smaller-scale US attack along the border region between Belgium and Germany, providing a compelling starting point for players. This historical conflict, which raged on for 4-6 weeks, comes to life with a unique twist that ensures an engaging gameplay experience.
This introductory battle serves as a manageable yet thrilling experience, allowing players to acclimate to the game's mechanics and storyline. As the campaign progresses, it sets the stage for a dramatic turn of events—a surprise German offensive that adds layers of complexity and excitement to the gameplay.
Rather than cramming the entire Battle of the Bulge into a single scenario, it has been divided into smaller battles, each representing just a few days of in-game time and covering a limited geographic area, typically spanning a few dozen miles. This approach grants players an unprecedented level of detail, allowing them to relive key moments of this monumental battle.
NEW CHALLENGES
Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge introduces a new layer of challenges. In the early stages of the German offensive, you'll be outgunned and outnumbered. Additionally, the adverse weather conditions limit the main Allied strength – airpower. To ensure an enjoyable and balanced gaming experience, you can earn rewards, including heroes and extra units, and select from different scenarios three times during the campaign, enabling you to choose between different areas of the battle.
FEATURES
Experience the Battle of the Bulge with in a more zoomed-in scale, featuring the famous Siege of Bastogne

Let's play Panzer Corps 1
The invasion of France, 1940 on Field Marshal difficulty, Scenario : Reims (1/2)
This will be a playthrough of the invasion of France in 1940. I tried to keep the focus on speed as much as possible. So expect suboptimal decisions now and then..
https://store.steampowered.com/app/268400/Panzer_Corps_Gold/
Mission Briefing:
Greetings once again, Herr General, I trust that you and your men are ready for action now that your weeks rest has ended, ja?
Although France's allies have fled the continent or surrendered, the French foolishly continue to resist! They have re-organized their surviving forces, and are attempting to form a new line on the Somme and Aisne Rivers. You have been tasked to breach this final line of defence.
The French are nearing the very end of their reserves, but they are not depleted yet, so you should still be prepared to encounter serious resistance as well as coordinated counter-attacks from the direction of Vouziers. Good luck, Herr General!
