How did the Bolsheviks Take Russia?
How did the Bolsheviks Take Russia?
The Russian Empire. The Soviet Union. Between the two were events that are remembered today as pillars of modern Russian history. Bloody Sunday, the February Revolution, the July Days, the October Revolution, and more proved to be the stepping stones between the fall of the empire marked by the dramatic abdication of Tsar Nicholas II, and the rise of the Soviet Union following the socialist uprising throughout the nation. But how did these events occur?

Today we will briefly go over the main points and answer the question: why did the October Revolution become possible, and how did the Bolsheviks take power?

Underdogs of History: The Bolsheviks vs All of Russia
The October Revolution, or Bolshevik Revolution, was a takeover of the Russian government in 1917 by a group of radical socialists led by Vladimir Lenin, and was the second part of the Russian Revolution. This video examines all the groups and elements working against the Bolsheviks, and how they overcame them. It should also be made clear that the ‘underdog’ moniker in the title is not meant to frame the Bolsheviks positively. This is merely the first episode in a new series, ‘Underdogs of History’.
