History of wine
The earliest archaeological evidence of wine production yet found has been at sites in Georgia (c. 6000 BC),Iran (c. 7000 BC),Greece (c. 4500 BC) and Armenia (c. 4100 BC), where the oldest winery to date was uncovered.
The altered consciousness produced by wine has been considered religious since its origin. The Greeks worshiped Dionysus and Bacchus and the Romans carried on his cult. Consumption of ritual wine was part of Jewish practice since Biblical times and, as part of the eucharist commemorating Jesus's Last Supper, became even more essential to the Christian Church. Although Islam nominally forbade the production or consumption of wine, during its Golden Age, alchemists such as Geber pioneered wine's distillation for medicinal and industrial purposes such as the production of perfume. The Turkic Uyghurs were even responsible for reïntroducing viticulture to China from the Tang dynasty onwards.
Wine production and consumption increased, burgeoning from the 15th century onwards as part of European expansion. Despite the devastating 1887 phylloxera louse infestation, modern science and technology adapted and industrial wine production and wine consumption now occur throughout the world.

IV century AD: saint Nino. She was a woman, who preached Christianity in Georgia and with her work, Georgia became Christian country officially in 326 AD. but in Georgia, there always have been Christian church from the 1'st century.
V century AD: the foundation of Tbilisi (The capital of Georgia) by King Vakhtang
XI century AD: King David the Builder. He was very good strategy developer. He won every battle against Muslim invaders. approximately 35 battles. and one, the most important - Battle of Didgori in 1121 against Seljuk Turks and Muslim Coliation Army. Georgia had around 50k warriors, Seljuks had around 350-450k warriors and kind David was victorious.
XII century AD: Lady-King Tamar. She was one of the most powerful king in Georgia's history. (Also Tamar wasn't male).
Also this guy's name was Shota Rustaveli. He wrote poem "the knight in panther's skin" in Georgian language"Vepkhistkaosani". There are 6,648 lines in poem. In each line there are 16 vowel and is considered as the masterpiece of the Human literature. It is called "The Geogian Bible".
XIII century AD : Mongolians came to Georgia and They destroyed the strength of this country, but could not destroy it's Independence and high sovereignty. after their rule and after the fall of the Constantinople, United Kingdom of Georgia was divided in 8 independent little Georgian states.
XIV century AD :In the second half of the 14th century, George IV managed to expel the Mongols from Georgia.
XIX century AD :Georgia became part of the Russian Empire in the 19th century. And that people in this clip are famous Georgian writers and public figures.
XX century AD: Georgia was liberated from the Russian Empire in the 20th century, declaring independence on May 26, 1918. The Democratic Republic of Georgia existed for only less than three years before the Soviet occupation in March 1921. 70 years later, on April 9, 1991, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Georgia declared independence.
This artist was Niko Pirosmani. He was a Georgian Primitivism Artist, one of the founder of this artistic type, who posthumously rose to prominence. Relatively poor for most of his life, he worked a variety of ordinary jobs. Now his each painting costs millions.
And second scene was from movie "father of a soldier". This Soviet film is about the participation of Georgians in the Second World War, where more than 300 thousand ethnic Georgians died. The Soviet army was commanded by Georgian Stalin together with 120 other Georgian Generals.

6000 BC : The first Wine invented in Georgia, in the Proto-Georgian (Proto-Kartvelian) culture of Shulaveri (Shulaveri-Shomu tepe culture), in the Kakheti region.
1300 BC:The Argonauts came to Georgia to take the Golden Fleece (Colchian Knowledge). They had 3 task. One of them was that Argonauts had to tilth ground with fiery bulls.
III century BC: first Georgian alphabet (Georgians have 3 alphabets but they use only one in modern life)
IV century AD: saint Nino. She was a woman, who preached Christianity in Georgia and with her work, Georgia became Christian country officially in 326 AD. but in Georgia, there always have been Christian church from the 1'st century.
V century AD: the foundation of Tbilisi (The capital of Georgia) by King Vakhtang
XI century AD: King David the Builder. He was very good strategy developer. He won every battle against Muslim invaders. approximately 35 battles. and one, the most important - Battle of Didgori in 1121 against Seljuk Turks and Muslim Coliation Army. Georgia had around 50k warriors, Seljuks had around 350-450k warriors and kind David was victorious.
XII century AD: Lady-King Tamar. She was one of the most powerful king in Georgia's history. (Also Tamar wasn't male).
Also this guy's name was Shota Rustaveli. He wrote poem "the knight in panther's skin" in Georgian language"Vepkhistkaosani". There are 6,648 lines in poem. In each line there are 16 vowel and is considered as the masterpiece of the Human literature. It is called "The Geogian Bible".
XIII century AD : Mongolians came to Georgia and They destroyed the strength of this country, but could not destroy it's Independence and high sovereignty. after their rule and after the fall of the Constantinople, United Kingdom of Georgia was divided in 8 independent little Georgian states.
XIV century AD :In the second half of the 14th century, George IV managed to expel the Mongols from Georgia.
XIX century AD :Georgia became part of the Russian Empire in the 19th century. And that people in this clip are famous Georgian writers and public figures.
XX century AD: Georgia was liberated from the Russian Empire in the 20th century, declaring independence on May 26, 1918. The Democratic Republic of Georgia existed for only less than three years before the Soviet occupation in March 1921. 70 years later, on April 9, 1991, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Georgia declared independence.
This artist was Niko Pirosmani. He was a Georgian Primitivism Artist, one of the founder of this artistic type, who posthumously rose to prominence. Relatively poor for most of his life, he worked a variety of ordinary jobs. Now his each painting costs millions.
And second scene was from movie "father of a soldier". This Soviet film is about the participation of Georgians in the Second World War, where more than 300 thousand ethnic Georgians died. The Soviet army was commanded by Georgian Stalin together with 120 other Georgian Generals.

The earliest known evidence comes from 7,000 BCE in China, where residue in clay pots has revealed that people were making an alcoholic beverage from fermented rice, millet, grapes, and honey. So how did alcohol come to fuel global trade and exploration? Rod Phillips explores the evolution of alcohol.

History of wine
The earliest archaeological evidence of wine production yet found has been at sites in Georgia (c. 6000 BC),Iran (c. 7000 BC),Greece (c. 4500 BC) and Armenia (c. 4100 BC), where the oldest winery to date was uncovered.
The altered consciousness produced by wine has been considered religious since its origin. The Greeks worshiped Dionysus and Bacchus and the Romans carried on his cult. Consumption of ritual wine was part of Jewish practice since Biblical times and, as part of the eucharist commemorating Jesus's Last Supper, became even more essential to the Christian Church. Although Islam nominally forbade the production or consumption of wine, during its Golden Age, alchemists such as Geber pioneered wine's distillation for medicinal and industrial purposes such as the production of perfume. The Turkic Uyghurs were even responsible for reïntroducing viticulture to China from the Tang dynasty onwards.
Wine production and consumption increased, burgeoning from the 15th century onwards as part of European expansion. Despite the devastating 1887 phylloxera louse infestation, modern science and technology adapted and industrial wine production and wine consumption now occur throughout the world.
