Highway 6 (Hebrew:כביש 6, Kvish Shesh), also known as the Trans-Israel Highway or Cross-Israel Highway (Hebrew:כביש חוצה ישראל, Kvish Ḥotzeh Yisra'el), is a major electronic tollhighway in Israel. Highway 6 is the first Israeli Build-Operate-Transfer road constructed, carried out mainly by the private sector in return for a license to collect tolls on the highway for a given number of years. It is also one of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken in Israel.
History
The highway was officially dedicated as the Yitzhak Rabin Highway (Hebrew:כביש יצחק רבין, Kvish Yitzḥak Rabin), though this name is not commonly used. It started operating in the early 2000s and is being lengthened as construction proceeds on newer sections. The northern terminus was extended to the Ein Tut Interchange on July 20, 2009 where the highway now merges into Highway 70 heading northwards.
Goals
The aim of the Highway is to provide an efficient north-south transportation corridor in the country while allowing drivers to bypass the traffic-congested Tel Aviv region, located in the center of the country. Thus it is the Eastern-most major highway in Israel, in some places located almost right on the Green Line. Currently the highway is 140km long, all of which is a freeway. This figure will grow in the next few years as additional segments are extended both northward and southward from the existing section of the road. As of 2013 some segments were under construction while others were undergoing statutory approvals and permitting processes.
OR 6 begins (at its western terminus) at a junction with U.S. Route 101 and Oregon Route 131 in downtown Tillamook. From there it winds eastward though the Northern Oregon Coast Range along the Wilson River, and through a portion of the Tillamook State Forest. The stretch through the Coast Range is well known for its scenic beauty (as well as frequent accidents; the highway is a highly traveled route despite numerous twists and turns and steep grades). Emerging from the Coast Range, it passes through a few foothill communities. At the base of the Coast Range, Oregon Route 8 forks off to the east, heading towards the communities of Gales Creek and Forest Grove; whereas OR 6 continues to the northeast. OR 6 soon passes south of the city of Banks, where it has an interchange with the Nehalem Highway (OR 47), and Wilkesboro. A few miles east of Banks, OR 6 ends at an interchange with U.S. Route 26, the Sunset Highway. Travelers generally continue east on US 26 (which is a freeway east of the interchange) into Portland.
Highway 6 is a paved undivided major provincial highway in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It runs from Montana Highway 16 at the Saskatchewan border with the US near the Canada customs port of Regway to Highway 55 near Choiceland. Highway 6 is about 516.6km (321.0mi) long. The CanAm Highway comprises Saskatchewan Highways from south to north: SK 35, Sk 39, Sk 6, Sk 3, as well as Sk 2.203.1 miles (326.9km) of Saskatchewan Highway 6 contribute to the CanAm Highway between Corinne and Melfort.
Israel (/ˈɪzreɪəl/ or /ˈɪzriːəl/; Hebrew:יִשְׂרָאֵלYisrā'el; Arabic:إِسْرَائِيلIsrāʼīl), officially the State of Israel (Hebrew:מְדִינַת יִשְׂרָאֵלMedīnat Yisrā'el[mediˈnat jisʁaˈʔel]; Arabic:دولة إِسْرَائِيلDawlat Isrāʼīl[dawlat ʔisraːˈʔiːl]), is a country in the Middle East, situated at the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. It shares land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories (which are claimed by the State of Palestine and are partially controlled by Israel) comprising the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. It contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. Israel's financial and technology center is Tel Aviv, while Jerusalem is both its self-designated capital (unrecognised by the United Nations) and its most populous individual city under the country's governmental administration. Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem is internationally disputed.
Israel David Bascón Gigato (born 16 March 1987 in Utrera, Seville), known simply as Israel, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder.
During the 2006 off-season, in August, vastly underplayed at Betis due to the presence of Joaquín in his position, Israel spent time at Chelsea on trial after a move to Real Madrid Castilla failed to materialise. His trial was unsuccessful, however, and the player then left for Mérida UD on a loan deal.
The Land of Israel (Hebrew: אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵלʼÉreṣ Yiśrāʼēl, Eretz Yisrael) is one of several names for an area of indefinite geographical extension in the Southern Levant. Related biblical, religious and historical English terms include the Land of Canaan, the Promised Land, the Holy Land, and Palestine (q.v. Israel (disambiguation)). The definitions of the limits of this territory vary between passages in the Hebrew Bible, with specific mentions in Genesis 15, Exodus 23, Numbers 34 and Ezekiel 47. Nine times elsewhere in the Bible, the settled land is referred as "from Dan to Beersheba, and three times it is referred as "from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt” (1 Kings 8:65, 1 Chronicles 13:5 and 2 Chronicles 7:8).".
These biblical limits for the land differ from the borders of established historical Israelite and later Jewish kingdoms; over time these have included the United Kingdom of Israel, the two separated kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah, the Hasmonean Kingdom, and the Herodian Kingdom, which at their heights ruled lands with similar but not identical boundaries.
Last year, Dork in the Road, Dual ADV and myself tackled Oregon Back country Discovery Route 6. We had it on good authority the best way to ride it is West to East, because some of the best motorcycle camping opportunities are at the eastern end, and would be a great finish to the ride. This is one of the unofficial OBCDR routes, provided by the Oregon Off Highway Vehicle Association, and can be found at https://www.oohva.org/ (not affiliated)
It was our experience that the provided BDR route is not very well updated, and you will likely have to do a bit of poking around to find your way through at times, but that is part of the fun of what we do.

My First BDR! Riding Over The Coast Range and Motorcycle Camping: Oregon BDR Route 6, Day 1
My first full-length (unofficial) Backcountry Discovery Route adventure was an amazing one! Two friends and I set out to tackle Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route 6, which runs from Coos Bay/Reedsport Oregon all the way over the Oregon Coast Range and the Oregon Cascades to Crescent Lake, Oregon. OBDR Route 6 is short enough to do in a few days, and that's exactly what we set out to do on this trip.
Here on day 1, we meet up as a group and head out from my house in Albany, Oregon down the freeway, through Drain and Elkton, Oregon, and finally to the start (technically the end) of Oregon Back Country Discovery Route 6 just south of Reedsport, Oregon. From there, we headed up into the wilderness and through the Elliot State Forest, before settling down at a convenient logging landing fo...

ADV Bikes on a Jeep Trail, Accidental Horseradish, and Crescent Lake: Oregon BDR Route 6, Day 3
The third and final day of our Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route 6 trip was easily the most momentous and amazing of my entire adventure motorcycle riding career so far. After a fun motorcycle camping morning in camp at Crescent Lake, we geared up and headed out to complete our somewhat unorthodox run on Oregon BDR route 6.
This time, we started from the Crescent Lake end of OBDR route 6 and were promptly rewarded with the most difficult adventure bike off road riding of the entire trip. The first ten miles were a treacherous, technical, muddy jeep trail that led all the way to Summit Lake. After pushing my adventure bike offroad motorcycle riding skills to their absolute limit through a muddy 30 foot descent into a mud hole with an off camber muddy climb on the back side, we finall...

WARNING! THIS IS A PSA FOR ANYONE TRAVELING OREGON BACKCOUNTRY DISCOVERY ROUTE 6!
The section on NF 422 is totally washed out as of 8/29/2020! It looks like it has been for years honestly. I'm a little pissed that people are still being sold the map without being told that crucial bit of information.

After pushing my adventure bike offroad motorcycle riding skills to their absolute limit through a muddy 30 foot descent into a mud hole with an off camber muddy climb on the back side, we finally broke through to the well-maintained gravel roads we had been enjoying for the rest of our time on the Oregon BDR. The views were amazing and we even stopped at a beautiful waterfall along the way before reaching the point where we'd ducked out after rerouting around the Rough Patch fire the previous day and completed our run of OBCDR Route 6.
After returning to camp, we enjoyed a few beverages, had dinner at a tavern in town, and just hung out and rested up after our long three days of adventure motorcycle travel before loading up the following morning and heading home and back to reality.

Route 6 - Cascades to Coast.

From there, we headed up into the wilderness and through the Elliot State Forest, before settling down at a convenient logging landing for an evening of motorcycle camping, dinner, campfire, beverages and a Mr. Puff Puff.
Multi-day motocamping trips like this are amazing, especially when you get to explore awesome areas like the OBDR route 6 with good friends. Thanks for watching this ADV riding and moto camping adventure!

Join us faithful viewers as three Tacomas travel into the Cascade wilds on a summertime adventure! SPOILERS: This time we won't get stopped by summer snow!
Route 6 - Cascades to Coast.
