Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith, KG,PC,KC (12 September 1852– 15 February 1928), served as the LiberalPrime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1908 to 1916. Until 5 January 1988, he was the longest continuously serving prime minister in the 20th century.
As prime minister, he led his Liberal party to a series of domestic reforms, including social insurance and the reduction of the power of the House of Lords. He led the nation into the First World War, but a series of military and political crises led to his replacement in late 1916 by David Lloyd George. His falling out with Lloyd George played a major part in the downfall of the Liberal Party.
Before his term as prime minister, he served as Home Secretary (1892–95) and as Chancellor of the Exchequer (1905–08). He was known as H. H. Asquith until his elevation to the peerage (1925), when he became Earl of Oxford and Asquith.
Asquith's achievements in peacetime have been overshadowed by his weaknesses in wartime. Many historians portray a vacillating prime minister, unable to present the necessary image of action and dynamism to the public. Others stress his continued high administrative ability, and argue that many of the major reforms popularly associated with Lloyd George as "the man who won the war" were actually implemented by Asquith. The dominant historical verdict is that there were two Asquiths: the urbane and conciliatory Asquith, who was a successful peacetime leader, and the hesitant and increasingly exhausted Asquith, who practised the politics of muddle and delay during the Great War.
Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson (Icelandic:[ˈhɪlmar ˈœr̥tn̥ ˈhɪlmarsɔn]; born 23 April 1958), also known as HÖH, is a musician, an art director, and allsherjargoði (chief goði) of Ásatrúarfélagið ("the Ásatrú Association").
Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson was a pioneer in the use of computers when composing music and cleared the path for new ideas in recording and arrangements. He has worked on ambitious, experimental and original projects with various musicians, such as Psychic TV, Current 93, Sigur Rós, Steindór Andersen and Eivør Pálsdóttir.
From early bands to the birth of Þeyr
From 1972 to 1975 he was playing drums in a school band called Fatima with guitarist Jóhannes Helgason, bassist Birgir Ottóson and singer Guðmundur Eyjólfsson. In 1974 singer Eiríkur Hauksson replaced Guðmundur and guitarist Sigurgeir Sigmundsson joined them and a year after they broke up.
The .375 Holland & Holland Magnum (9.5×72mmB) is a medium-bore rifle cartridge. The .375 H&H was only the second cartridge ever to feature a belt, now common among magnum rounds. On these new rimless cartridges the belt replaced the rim in ensuring the correct headspace, which otherwise might be unreliable, given the narrow shoulder of the cartridge case.
The British company Holland & Holland introduced the cartridge in 1912 as the .375 Belted Rimless Nitro-Express. It initially used cordite propellant which was made in long strands – hence the tapered shape of this cartridge, which also ensured smooth chambering and extraction from a rifle's breech.
The .375 H&H often is cited as one of the most useful all-round rifle cartridges, especially in shooting large and dangerous game. With relatively light bullets in the region of 235 to 270 grains (15 to 17 g), it is a flat-shooting, fairly long-range cartridge ideal for use on light to medium game, whereas with heavy bullets of 300 grains (19 g) and greater, it has the punch necessary for large, thick-skinned dangerous game. In many regions with thick-skinned dangerous game animals, the .375 H&H is seen as the minimum acceptable caliber, and in many places (in Africa, primarily) it is now the legal minimum for hunting such game. African game guides, professional hunters, and cullers of dangerous game have repeatedly voted the .375 H&H as their clear preference for an all-round caliber if they could only have one rifle. A similar preference has been expressed by Alaskan game guides for brown bear and polar bear country
In chemistry, the Henderson–Hasselbalch equation describes the derivation of pH as a measure of acidity (using pKa, the negative log of the acid dissociation constant) in biological and chemical systems. The equation is also useful for estimating the pH of a buffer solution and finding the equilibrium pH in acid-base reactions (it is widely used to calculate the isoelectric point of proteins).
The equation is given by:
Here, [HA] is the molar concentration of the undissociated weak acid, [A⁻] is the molar concentration (molarity, M) of this acid's conjugate base and pKa is −log10Ka where Ka is the acid dissociation constant, that is:
In these equations, A⁻ denotes the ionic form of the relevant acid. Bracketed quantities such as [base] and [acid] denote the molar concentration of the quantity enclosed.
For bases
For the standard base equation:
A second form of the equation, known as the Heylman Equation, expressed in terms of where is the base dissociation constant:

Sullen hours of the evening Wait, I heard a bird, it's singing your song Even though you didn't have one. I can't help but think of you Why do I bother? Are we speaking the same language? Miss communication going round & round Spinning back around. I need to know how you feel. Why don't you come back with me tonight? Think I like you Why did you come back with me tonight? Is this love, or just infatuation for you? Sleeping in my arms tonight Wait a minute I never told you how I feel Probably because I don't really understand you. Spin! Swim! Scream! [x3] When I think of you I get tired I get tired Can I let you in, let you in? Can I really trust you, I don't know? I want to fly now. Think to myself. You should say what you mean. We are now You were When you were When you were When you were When you were We are We are more We are no more I'll take her there Until she don't wanna be with me Painted flowers in the restaurant The air there wasn't clean I'm missing you, that's all I know "Lights reflect the water Wind blows quietly The Water doesn't care. It's dark and the lake is frozen Wait for something wild. The trees are dead and dried out Wait for something wild..." Do we sail? Do we try to sail? In the lake it has a beauty That in her I also see. Well I thought it was a strange world. Still do, Too many making my confusion Just where are we now? I've been dreaming of a beautiful world, Its could be someday, maybe with you. Are you an illusion? Talk with me again one day Do you ever make sense of yourself? You were always in the back of my mind Thinkin' of you I could never understand why Now I know I always want to be there for you. May not be the same as before At least I'm with you You never let me know how you feel Probably because I always confuse you. [Mikee Outro] Spin! Swim!
