Throbbing Gristle were an English music and visual arts group formed in 1976 in Kingston upon Hull. The band comprised Genesis P-Orridge (born Neil Megson; bass guitar, violin, vocals, vibraphone), Cosey Fanni Tutti (born Christine Newby; guitars, cornet, vocals), Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson (tapes, found sounds, horns, piano, vibraphone, synthesizer) and Chris Carter (synthesizers, tapes, electronics).
Evolving from the experimental performance art group COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle are widely viewed as early pioneers of industrial music along with contemporaries such as Cabaret Voltaire. They disbanded in 1981, but the individual members went on to participate in other projects, and reformed in 2004 for a second stint before disbanding again in 2010 after the death of Peter Christopherson.

Greasy spoon is a colloquial term for a small, cheap restaurant or diner typically specialising in fried foods. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the term originated in the United States and is now used in various English-speaking countries.
The name "greasy spoon" is a reference to the typically high-fat, high-calorie menu items such as eggs and bacon. The term has been used to refer to a "small cheap restaurant" since at least the 1920s.
Many typical American greasy spoons focus on fried or grilled food, such as fried eggs, bacon, burgers, hash browns, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, deep fried chicken, and sausages. These are often accompanied by baked beans, french fries, coleslaw, or toast. Soups and chili con carne are generally available.
Since the 1970s, many Greek immigrants have entered the business. As a result, gyro and souvlaki meats are now a common part of the repertoire, often served as a side dish with breakfast and as a replacement for bacon or sausage.

Andrew's Cafe may have been gutted, but our memories of the kitchen takeovers that transformed a greasy spoon into a silver spoon endure. Organiser Daniel Young of Young & Foodish drew culinary superstars like Giorgio Locatelli and Nigella Lawson out of their comfort zone to prepare comfort food for a roomful of very special people. Star chefs from the UK as well as France, Italy, Portugal and the USA could be spotted behind Andrew's flat-top griddle at these sold-out pop-up dinners, on any given BurgerMonday or SpagWednesday. The landmark workingman's "caff" (British for "diner"), in a listed building at 160 Gray's Inn Road, has been all but gutted. But happily, Andrew's and its cherished all-day breakfasts have moved into a new home nearby at 59 Gray's Inn Road.

“The act of a man speaking for a woman can not often be described as Feminist. “I am a woman,”claims Fender, speaking for his heroine in the July release ‘Greasy Spoon.’ His character’s portrayal is not, as we have heard many times, a view of a woman through the prism of the male singer’s affection, or a description of physical charms, but rather a mostly third person narrative description of her professional life, commute and daily struggles. The story is hers. Fender has no fictional involvement other than to hear her through the walls. Of course under a different spin, Fender’s portrayal could so easily be criticised – “But it’s a woman’s story! In a man’s voice! Only a woman can say what it’s like to be a woman!”(?) But this snapshot of a life spent in discomfort is triumphant in its e...

Persuasion
You gotta get some
Persuasion
You gotta get some
Look at me I touch your breast
Look at me I touch your knees
And I persuade you
Like always I persuade you
Like always I persuade you
Persuasion
Look at me I touch your head
I say the words and you go to bed
My sister and my mother
My father and my son
Do everything I want them to
With persuasion
One lot of persuasion
Like always persuasion
Now there's lots of ways to persuade you
I could do it with money
I could look at you
I could show you all that
You might as well do it anyway
You might as well choose to play the game
After all you've seen yourself before
What difference does it make if I take your photograph?
What difference does it make if someone else sees it too?
All your friends do it
I mean nobody will know it's you
Anybody, it could be any body
I mean, these magazines, you know,
They only go to middle aged men
So why don't you do what I suggest
I persuade you
With words I persuade you
Persuasion
I've got a little biscuit tin
To keep your panties in
I've got a little biscuit tin
To keep your panties in
Soiled panties, white panties, school panties, Y-front panties
By the canal, by the canal
And I persuade you
Like always I persuade you
Look at me
Look at me
There's a certaing word and a certain touch
A certain way and a way too much
There's a little bit here
And a little bit there
When you've done it all it's too late to care
Oh I persuade you
Like always I persuade you
Look in my eye
Under your covers
I touch you
And tell you what to do
Do it because I tell you
Do it because I love you
And I persuade you
