Graham Simpson (13 October 1943 – 16 April 2012) was a founding member and bassist of Roxy Music, and friend of Bryan Ferry. On their eponymous first album (1972), his bass notes made distinctive contributions to the tracks "Ladytron" and "Chance Meeting". However, not long after the album was released, Simpson, who was suffering from depression following the death of his mother from cancer, was given an open-ended choice to remain with or take a hiatus from the band by Ferry. Simpson chose to leave the band and never returned to the line-up. He used his band royalties to travel the world learning about different cultures and religions, particularly Sufism, returning to London in 1982.
Simpson was the founder and medical director of Eternity Medicine Institute (EMI) in Dubai, reportedly the only clinic in the UAE to offer Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), and the first clinic in the Gulf region to open a compounding pharmacy. A BHRT expert and an advocate of natural progesterone, he questions the use of synthetic or artificial hormones as replacement therapy.
Promoting a holistic approach to living and to maintaining good health, Simpson suggests that “inner peace” can have healing properties and blames grudges and hostility for the “release of histamines, which can trigger severe broncho-constriction in people with asthma, and can also cause chemical changes in the body that increase the risk of heart disease.”

Mighty Trailer 2019
This is the story of Graham Simpson. Roxy Music's missing bass player.
In London, 1969, Simpson co-founded the band with Bryan Ferry, then disappeared off the face of the earth in 1972, straight after recording the band's seminal debut album.
In 2010, Graham wrote the word 'MIGHTY' on a noticeboard while on a temporary stay in a local mental health unit. A star was born. Against all the odds, Graham Simpson has made it back to humanity, back into the spotlight and a potential reunion with his long lost band mates.
Mighty is a human story as much as it is a Roxy Music story. It is a story of friendship found and friendship lost, travel and mysticism, prescence and abcense. And of course, a deep love of MUSIC.
Simpson's mysterious re-emergence was first documented by the artist and ph...

The film will celebrate Simpson's life as co-founder and original bassist of Roxy Music, as well as the more personal aspects of his life before and after the band.
Graham sadly since passed away peacefully in Ladbroke Grove in 2012 - but will be remembered by not only those that listened to his 'melodic basslines' - but by those that knew him and still searched for him. Graham was a much loved character in and around Ladbroke Grove, loved as much for his dry wit and wisdom, as the ever present sparkle in his eye..........
