Proving The Fundamental Homomorphism Theorem | Abstract Algebra
We introduce and prove the fundamental homomorphism theorem (also called the first isomorphism theorem), which states that every homomorphic image of a group G is isomorphic to the quotient group of G by the kernel of f, given that f is a homomorphism from G onto H. To prove this we will use some prior results. We previously proved that a quotient group of G is a homomorphic image of G, so we now have that a group is a quotient group of G if and only if it is a homomorphic image of G (or isomorphic to one). So homomorphic images and quotient groups are somewhat interchangeable. #abstractalgebra #grouptheory

Chapter 6: Homomorphism and (first) isomorphism theorem | Essence of Group Theory
The isomorphism theorem is a very useful theorem when it comes to proving novel relationships in group theory, as well as proving something is a normal subgroup. But not many people can understand it intuitively and remember it just as a kind of algebraic coincidence. This video is about the intuition behind the idea of homomorphism - functions preserving group structures, and the closely related isomorphism theorem.
This channel is meant to showcase interesting but underrated maths (and physics) topics and approaches, either with completely novel topics, or a well-known topic with a novel approach. Visual Group Theory, Lecture 4.3: The fundamental homomorphism theorem
The fundamental homomorphism theorem (FHT), also called the "first isomorphism theorem", says that the quotient of a domain by the kernel of a homomorphism is isomorphic to the image. We motivate this with Cayley diagrams before formally stating and proving it. This gives us a 2nd way to prove that two groups are isomorphic, which is often easier than constructing an explicit isomorphism. We conclude by applying the FHT to construct cyclic groups as natural quotients of the integers.

Apparently, when I was typing the description (after the video is edited), I knew that the name "homomorphism" is probably mistranslated from German. Originally, it was supposed to mean "similar", not "same".
This video series is about understanding the group theory intuitively, complementing how most people learn about it, because it is usually introduced as part of abstract algebra.

Visual Group Theory, Lecture 4.3: The fundamental homomorphism theorem
The fundamental homomorphism theorem (FHT), also called the "first isomorphism theorem", says that the quotient of a domain by the kernel of a homomorphism is isomorphic to the image. We motivate this with Cayley diagrams before formally stating and proving it. This gives us a 2nd way to prove that two groups are isomorphic, which is often easier than constructing an explicit isomorphism. We conclude by applying the FHT to construct cyclic groups as natural quotients of the integers.
