Explaining Financial Assets
A financial asset is intangible property that represents a claim on ownership of an entity or contractual rights to future payments. Common types of financial assets are cash, stocks, bonds, bank deposits, options, futures contracts and derivatives. Types of Assets: Financial, Tangible, and Intangible
How do people get rich? Rather than having very high-paying jobs, wealth is more easily accumulated through ownership of assets. This is anything of value that can be converted into money. Of course we know about assets like houses and other properties, or even expensive collectibles, but there are more subtle assets that are totally intangible as well. What could these be? Let's find out!

Real assets vs financial assets | FIN-Ed
In this video, I will talk about different types of assets that an investor can buy. I assume you already have a clear understanding of investment and savings. If not, you may want to check my previous video, where I discussed the difference between investment and savings. The link to that video is given right here and, in the description, below.
The productive capacity of an economy determines how wealthy a society is. This capacity is linked to the goods and services its members can create. Assets that you need to produce goods and services are real assets. These assets are land, building, factory, equipment, human capital, etc.
In contrast, financial assets are the claims on real assets.

Join us in this insightful interview with Mark Yusko, as he delves into the transformative power of Bitcoin and its unparalleled potential in the world of finance. 🚀
Mark Yusko, renowned investor and founder of Morgan Creek Capital, shares his profound insights on why Bitcoin (little b, the network) is the most powerful computing network ever created, far surpassing the capabilities of supercomputers like CERN. He explains why Bitcoin is set to become the new base layer for money, replacing gold’s 5000-year reign.
In this video, you will learn:
• The distinction between Bitcoin as a network and Bitcoin as a token.
• Why price is a deceptive indicator and how value truly lies in the ownership of the Bitcoin network.
• The critical importance of owning a piece of this revolutionary asset and how to accumulate it effectively.
• The impact of inflation on fiat currencies and why Bitcoin offers a hedge against this financial erosion.
• The role of Bitcoin in a diversified portfolio, especially for young investors.
• The historical perspective of gold as a commodity and a currency, and how Bitcoin parallels this trajectory.
• Predictions on the future adoption and valuation of Bitcoin as a dominant financial asset.
