Its most prominent MP was Winston Churchill, who served as Prime Minister during the Second World War for the latter part of his tenure in the seat. In the 1955 and 1959 general elections, the celebrated cricket commentator and journalist John Arlott stood as the Liberal Party candidate.
Boundaries
1885-1918: The Sessional Divisions of Dunmow (except the civil parish of Thaxted), Epping, Harlow, and Ongar.
1918-1945: The Urban Districts of Buckhurst Hill, Chingford, Epping, Loughton, Waltham Holy Cross, Wanstead, and Woodford, and the Rural District of Epping (the civil parishes of Chigwell, Epping Upland, Great Parndon, Harlow, Latton, Little Parndon, Magdalen Laver, Matching, Nazeing, Netteswell, North Weald Bassett, Roydon, Sheering, Theydon Bois, and Theydon Garnon).
The Moselle "twists and turns its way between Trier and Koblenz along one of Germany's most beautiful river valleys." It flows through a region that has been influenced by mankind since it was first cultivated by the Romans. Today, its hillsides are covered by terraced vineyards where "some of the best Rieslings grow", and numerous ruined castles dominate the hilltops above wine villages and towns that line the riverbanks. Traben-Trarbach with its art nouveau architecture and Bernkastel-Kues with its traditional market square are two of the many popular tourist attractions on the Moselle river.
Name
The name Moselle is derived from the Celtic name form, Moseal, via the LatinMosella, a diminutive form of Mosa, the Latin description of the Meuse, which used to flow parallel to the Moselle. So the Mosella was the "Little Meuse".
The Moselle was a riverboat constructed in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was built between December 1, 1837 and March 31, 1838. The Moselle was considered one of the fastest river boats in operation at the time, having completed a record setting two day, sixteen hour trip between Cincinnati and St. Louis. On April 25, 1838, the Moselle, piloted by Captain Isaac Perin, suffered a boiler explosion just east of Cincinnati, killing 160 of the estimated 280–300 passengers. The boat had just pulled away from a dock near the neighborhood of Fulton, when all four boilers simultaneously suffered a catastrophic failure resulting in the total destruction of the ship from the paddlewheels to the bow. The ship drifted approximately 100 yards before sinking to the bottom of the Ohio river. Negligence may have been a factor in the explosion: many eyewitness reports claimed that Captain Perin had intended to race another riverboat at the time of the explosion, and therefore the pressure in the boilers was excessively high.
Mosel is one of 13 German wine regions (Weinbaugebiete) for quality wines (QbA and Prädikatswein), and takes its name from the Mosel River (French:Moselle). Before 1 August 2007 the region was called Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, but changed to a name that was considered more consumer-friendly. The wine region is Germany's third largest in terms of production but is the leading region in terms of international prestige. The region covers the valleys of the rivers Moselle, Saar, and Ruwer near Koblenz and Trier in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The area is known for the steep slopes of the region's vineyards overlooking the river. At 65°degreesincline, the steepest recorded vineyard in the world is the Calmont vineyard located on the Mosel and belonging to the village of Bremm, and therefore referred to as Bremmer Calmont. The Mosel is mainly famous for its wines made from the Rieslinggrape, but Elbling and Müller-Thurgau also contribute to the production. Because of the northerly location of the Mosel, the Riesling wines are often light, low in alcohol, crisp and high in acidity, and often exhibit "flowery" rather than "fruity" aromas.

Our Guide to living in Epping
Epping is a large market town and forms part of Essex County’s Epping Forest district. Although best known for the famous forest, Epping itself lies about a mile to the north of the forest area and the M25. Connections to London are still excellent however, with the Central line offering just over 30 minutes’ journey time in to Stratford, and an hour into Liverpool Street. The tourist industry is healthy here with plenty of attractions and local history to draw visitors to spend time and money in Epping. This has also had a beneficial effect on local businesses and trades able to cash in on the popularity of the area.Typical homeowners in Epping are professional couples/families and tend to move here with the intention of staying long term.
