My online sorces tell me that they had a stegosaurus or something pop up at some point and also a herd of Dimetrodons... I don't know, I could be dead wrong here..... No unnmade / scrapped concepts here either such as the Therizinosaurus that was suppose to appear in season one or the Charcharodontosaurs that was later ultimately replaced by the Giga as... What's the point? Yeah, they are technically part of Primeval's history but since we've never seen them, it just kinda feels like a bit pointless! Anyways, make sure to hit the like button if you enjoyed this video, subscribe to the YouTube channel and ring the bell next to the big red "SUBSCRIBE" button so you can get notified the moment new content is being uploaded into this YouTube channel and remember... Mantova 🏰 Italy's sleeping beauty city 🏰 Travel Vlog 2020
Mantua is a tiny medieval city that punches way above its weight in history, architectural splendor, and delicious cuisine. Considered one of the main artistic and cultural hubs in Northern Italy, its Centro Storico, or historical city center, and nearby Sabbioneta form a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site. Italian people tell that Mantua is known as La Bella Addormentata, a sleeping beauty that hasn't changed since the middle ages.

Napoleon in Italy: Battle of Bassano (3/5)
In 1796, at the height of the Revolutionary Wars, Napoleon Bonaparte took command of French forces in northern Italy. He was just 26 years old and had never commanded an army before. Within weeks, he had turned his ragged, demoralised troops into a ferocious fighting force, defeating the Austrians and knocking Piedmont out of the war. With success, Napoleon began to believe it was his destiny to shape the fate of nations. In this series, we follow Napoleon's first glorious campaign step by step.

Mantua (Mantova), Lombardy - Italy: Things to Do - What, How and Why to visit it (4K)

If you are planning to visit the city of Mantua (Mantova), in Lombardy - Italy, here you’ll find the best tips on things to do in the city, to identify the most relevant points of interest to enjoy, so you can easily imagine and organize your trip: WHAT to see, HOW to plan your visit, and WHY to discover Mantua city.
In this video:
- WHAT are the major attractions that you can't go home without having seen, including ...Ducal Palace, Castello San Giorgio, Mantua Cathedral, Piazza Sordello, Basilica di Sant’Andrea, Rotonda di San Lorenzo and Palazzo Te.
- Then, I’ll describe to you HOW to follow a daily tour to better visit the city.
- Finally, we’ll discover WHY to visit Mantua city.
Mantova, a Unesco heritage, has ancient Etruscan origins and it is the birthplace of the Latin poet Virgil.
The city reached its splendour not only in the Middle Age but expecially during the long domination of the lords Gonzagas, who designed the city together with some of the greatest artists at the time.
Mantua is known as the "City of the Three Lakes” because the lakes: Laghi di Mezzo, Inferiore, and Superiore, and the Mincio River hugs the city.
Mantova is a city on a human scale where you can walk in narrow streets and lively or silent squares follow one another, but the best attractions not to be missed if you visit the city are:
- Ducal Palace: Once it was the royal residence where the Gonzaga family lived for almost 400 years.
- Castello San Giorgio, one the best preserved castle in all Lombardy, surrounded by a massive moat (fossato) and built over 600 years ago.
- Mantua Cathedral is one of the most iconic buildings in Mantua, and one of the most unlucky one, since there’s been many fires and events which has destroyed it a thousand years ago.
- Piazza Sordello
- Basilica di Sant’Andrea, was built in the 15th Century it took over 300 years to complete!
- The Rotonda di San Lorenzo is another shining example of why Mantua has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Just outside the ancient centre of Mantua you can find the Palazzo Te. Built by Giulio Romano almost 500 years ago, probably is one of northern Italy’s most beautiful palaces.
Don't forget to taste the Mantuan cuisine!
FOOD TIPS:
Bice La Gallina Felice: Via Antonio Carbonati, 4, Mantova, 0039 0376 288368

Mantua's compact historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage site with a dense concentration of historic buildings, some of which date back to the Middle Ages, and others reflect the strong Renaissance tradition of town planning.
These historic sites are so close together, concentrated around three adjacent piazzas, making it very easy to see a lot in a short period of time with a minimal amount of walking. Located in the Lombardy region in the north of Italy, even though Mantua is inland, it's surrounded by water including three lakes and a canal, with a green park along the lakeshore, as you'll see more of later.
This is the ideal city for discovering on foot where it is so easy to get around while exploring these endlessly fascinating sites. This visit is extra special because you will be enjoying a walking tour with a local expert, Giacomo Cecchin.

In 1628 – when central Europe was all aflame in the Thirty Years' War and catholic and protestant forces were busy fighting for power and religious righteousness – in the north Italian town of Mantua, a struggle for succession and inheritance between some minor dukes drew the mightiest powers of Europe into a conflict they all wanted to avoid. A conflict that included besieging an island, heavily fortified and under unintentional quarantine. This was a conflict characterized by political intrigue and complex family entanglements. We disentangled them and present you a simplified, yet comprehensive analysis of the Mantuan War of Succession.
Contemporary historiography tells this intriguing story as follows:
On the 22 of December 1612, peace turned into turmoil in the small Italian Duchy. On this day, Fran-cesco IV of Mantua passed away. His dynasty, house Gonzaga, had ruled in the Duchy of Mantua since the 14th century. House Gonzaga had even managed to extend its rule to Montferrat through clever marriage politics in 1531. But then Francesco Gonzaga turned up his toes without a male heir, he only left a daughter, Maria. His two younger brothers, Ferdinando and Vincenzo had both joined the church and lived in celibacy. They one after another took over the duchy but neither of them secured the male succession.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?
Welcome back to Dramatically Expatic! It's been a long time sine I made a good old travel vlog - so here we are! I missed my Italian travels a lot :D Today I'm taking you to Mantua (Mantova in Italian) to explore this lovely city with its art, history, and amazing Italian food! Watch this video 'till the end to find out how Mantua is linked to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (and thus, to Verona), what to eat in Mantua, what to see in Mantua (how about adult images from the Renaissance? :D), and which famous TV series was filmed in Mantua (let's imagine we're visiting the set!). Don't forget to like, comment and share!

ABOUT:
Hi! I’m Valeria and I’m an expat in Italy. I’ve moved here (almost) on a whim when my plans in Paris got ruined - without speaking the language and totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! Moving to Italy has definitely had its ups and downs, but I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. Here I post regular travel vlogs, tips on expat life, moving to Italy, personal growth and self-esteem as an expat woman living abroad.

Thank you for being here and may you have a wonderful day!
