On April 22, 1978 the line opened between Belvedere and Central stations. At the time (and for another 37 years) the system consisted solely of the single line. It was not named the Capital Line until 2012 when expansion plans were revealed for additional lines.
The 1980s were a decade of expansion for the Capital Line. It expanded northwards toward Clareview in 1981, and westwards toward Bay and Corona, under the downtown core in 1983. Another underground extension was completed in 1989 with the opening of Grandin Station.
One station opened in the 1990s, University, in August 1992. The underground station was connected to the downtown leg by the Dudley B. Menzies Bridge.
Äetsä is a former municipality of southwestern Finland. The municipality was founded on 1981 when municipalities of Keikyä and Kiikka were consolidated to a single municipality.
On 1 January 2009, it was consolidated with the municipalities of Vammala and Mouhijärvi to form a new city of Sastamala.
The municipality had a population of 4,797 (November 30, 2008) and covered an area of 241.95 square kilometres (93.42sqmi), of which 8.38km2 (3.24sqmi) was water. The population density was 20.54 inhabitants per square kilometre (53.2/sqmi).
Protein C-ets-2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ETS2gene. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ETS family of transcription factors.
Protein C-ets-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ETS1gene. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ETS family of transcription factors.
Function
There are 28 ETS genes in humans and 27 genes – in mice. They bind the DNA via their winged-helix-turn-helix DNA binding motif known as the Ets domain that specifically recognizes DNA sequences that contain a GGAA/T core element. However, Ets proteins differ significantly in their preference for the sequence flanking the GGAA/T core motif. For instance, the consensus sequence for Ets1 is PuCC/a-GGAA/T-GCPy. On the other hand, many natural Ets1-responsive GGAA/T elements differ from this consensus sequence. The later suggests that several other transcription factors may facilitate Ets1 binding to unfavorable DNA sequences.
Ets1 binds to DNA as a monomer. Phosphorylation of serine residues of the C-terminal domain (in the nucleotide sequence they belong to exon VII) known as autoinhibition makes Ets1 inactive. There are several ways to activate Ets1. First, Ets1 can be dephosphorylated. Second, two Ets1 can be activated If two Ets molecules homodimerize. The homodimerization occurs if DNA binding sites are present in the correct orientation and spacing. Thus, the exact layout of binding sites within an enhancer or promoter segment to either relieve or allow autoinhibition of Ets1 to occur may strongly influence whether or not Ets1 actually binds to particular site. Third, Ets1 can be activated by Erk2 and Ras at Thr38. The truncated isoform cannot be phosphorylated by the Erk2. It is localized in the cytoplasm and acts as a dominant negative isoform. Contrary, another isoform that misses exon VII is constitutively active. Many Ras responsive genes harbor combinatorial Ets/AP1 recognition motifs through which Ets1 and AP1 synergistically activate transcription when stimulated by Ras.
The Elerslie slave plantation was built on the lands of Captain Thomas Hobbs given to his daughter Amelia. Jasper and Amelia Peddicord built a twin side-by-side house around a log hunting lodge built about 1763. In 1830 Richard Snowden purchased the land for a wedding present. In 1835, Nicholas Snowden of Montpeiler married Elizabeth Ridgley Warfield. Richard and his sons left to pursue the California Gold Rush. The House was purchased in 1845 by Basil Crapster who expanded the house to a mirrored layout. In 1945 Jaessie Hakes and his wife purchased the manor and 132 acres of surrounding land plus adjoining properties which have been subdivided for residential construction.
The manor is a two and one-half story house with stone construction. Outbuildings include a stone spring house and wood barn built in the late 1700s.
The Ellerslie neighbourhood includes the Wernerville country residential area, which is designated a special study area within the Ellerslie Area Structure Plan and is recognized as a locality by Statistics Canada.
The Ellerslie neighbourhood is bounded on the south by Ellerslie Road, on the north by the Anthony Henday Drive corridor, on the east by 66 Street, and on the west by 91 Street. Wernerville comprises the easternmost portion of the neighbourhood. Immediately north of the Anthony Henday Drive is the Mill Woods area of Edmonton and the neighbourhoods of Satoo and Menisa.
The most common type of residence in the neighbourhood is the single family dwelling. According to the 2005 municipal census, two out of every three residences (66%) were single-family dwellings. Row houses make up another one in five (20%) of residences followed by apartment style condominiums which make up 12% of all residences. The remaining 2% or residences were duplexes. Substantially all residences in Ellerslie are owner occupied.
