FRONTLINE spent months on the ground in West Africa, tracing the Ebola outbreak’s path through Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia in 2014 and 2015 and uncovering the hidden story of what happened before the world started paying attention. The documentary shared firsthand accounts from survivors and victims’ family members — from the forest region of Guinea to the bustling Liberian capital of Monrovia — including the father of a one-year-old Guinean child who was believed to be the first person to die in the outbreak.
With access to key global and local decision-makers and health responders, “Outbreak” exposed tragic missteps in the response to what would become the deadliest Ebola outbreak that the world had ever experienced. The documentary drew on revelatory and candid admissions of failure from key government and public health officials, some of whom were speaking publicly for the first time. The investigation raised prescient questions about whether governments and global health organizations had the capacity to respond at the right scale the next time the world faced a major infectious epidemic.

The young man from Liberia who may have Ebola starts vomiting blood everywhere without control and Lauren goes straight away to help him. However, when the patient is stabilised, Dr. Max Eggold realises that Lauren's globe has been punctured; she's been exposed.
From Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot": Dr. Max Goodwin shakes up the status quo on his first day as a medical director of New Amsterdam, while simultaneously dealing with his own personal issues.
New Amsterdam (2017) SYNOPSIS: Dr. Max Goodwin is brilliant, charming -- and the new medical director at America's oldest public hospital. While he's set on tearing down the bureaucracy to provide exceptional care, the doctors and staff are not so sure. They've heard this before, and no one else has delivered on those promises. Not taking no for an answer, Max disrupts the status quo and proves he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital -- the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers Island and the president of the United States all under one roof -- and return it to the glory that put it on the map. Inspired by Bellevue in New York City.

This is often due to low blood pressure from fluid loss, and typically follows 6 to 16 days after symptoms appear.
The virus spreads through direct contact with body fluids, such as blood from infected humans or other animals. Spread may also occur from contact with items recently contaminated with bodily fluids.Spread of the disease through the air between primates, including humans, has not been documented in either laboratory or natural conditions. Semen or breast milk of a person after recovery from EVD may carry the virus for several weeks to months.Fruit bats are believed to be the normal carrier in nature, able to spread the virus without being affected by it.Other diseases such as malaria, cholera, typhoid fever, meningitis and other viral hemorrhagic fevers may resemble EVD. Blood samples are tested for viral RNA, viral antibodies or for the virus itself to confirm the diagnosis.
