Downstream is a 2010 post-apocalyptic film that takes place in a near-future dystopia where gasoline is scarce and a drifter tries to reach a rumored utopian city, Plutopia, powered by clean energy. The film is directed by Simone Bartesaghi and co-directed, written, and produced by Philip Y. Kim.
In the year 2010, there was a dramatic increase and prominence in the use of 3D-technology in filmmaking after the success of Avatar in the format, with releases such as Alice in Wonderland, Clash of the Titans, Jackass 3D, all animated films, with numerous other titles being released in 3D formats.
These are the top grossing films that were released in 2010.
Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland both grossed more than $1 billion, marking the first time that two films grossed more than $1 billion at the box office in the same year. Even more impressively, both films were released by the same studio—Walt Disney Pictures. Toy Story 3 is the first animated film to gross $1 billion, and is the third highest-grossing animated film ever worldwide (behind Frozen and Minions). Two other films—Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Inception—are also among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time. This is also the first time that five animated films have been present in the Top 10 highest-grossing films of the year, and two of them are in the Top 5. The year saw four films debut with more than $100 million, breaking the opening record of 2007 with three releases, and 2004 with two releases.
Film is a 1965 film written by Samuel Beckett, his only screenplay. It was commissioned by Barney Rosset of Grove Press. Writing began on 5 April 1963 with a first draft completed within four days. A second draft was produced by 22 May and a forty-leaf shooting script followed thereafter. It was filmed in New York in July 1964.
Beckett’s original choice for the lead – referred to only as “O” – was Charlie Chaplin, but his script never reached him. Both Beckett and the director Alan Schneider were interested in Zero Mostel and Jack MacGowran. However, the former was unavailable and the latter, who accepted at first, became unavailable due to his role in a "Hollywood epic." Beckett then suggested Buster Keaton. Schneider promptly flew to Los Angeles and persuaded Keaton to accept the role along with "a handsome fee for less than three weeks' work."James Karen, who was to have a small part in the film, also encouraged Schneider to contact Keaton.
The filmed version differs from Beckett's original script but with his approval since he was on set all the time, this being his only visit to the United States. The script printed in Collected Shorter Plays of Samuel Beckett (Faber and Faber, 1984) states:
In fluid dynamics, lubrication theory describes the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a geometry in which one dimension is significantly smaller than the others. An example is the flow above air hockey tables, where the thickness of the air layer beneath the puck is much smaller than the dimensions of the puck itself.
Internal flows are those where the fluid is fully bounded. Internal flow lubrication theory has many industrial applications because of its role in the design of fluid bearings. Here a key goal of lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume, and hence the forces on the bearing components. The working fluid in this case is often termed a lubricant.
Free film lubrication theory is concerned with the case in which one of the surfaces containing the fluid is a free surface. In that case the position of the free surface is itself unknown, and one goal of lubrication theory is then to determine this. Surface tension may then be significant, or even dominant. Issues of wetting and dewetting then arise. For very thin films (thickness less than one micrometre), additional intermolecular forces, such as Van der Waals forces or disjoining forces, may become significant.
A bioprocess is a specific process that uses complete living cells or their components (e.g., bacteria, enzymes, chloroplasts) to obtain desired products
Transport of energy and mass is fundamental to many biological and environmental processes. Areas, from food processing to thermal design of building to biomedical devices to pollution control and global warming, require knowledge of how energy and mass can be transported through materials (mass, momentum, heat transfer}.
Cell bioprocessing
Cell therapy bioprocessing is a discipline that bridges the fields of cell therapy and bioprocessing (i.e., biopharmaceutical manufacturing), and is a sub-field of bioprocess engineering. The goals of cell therapy bioprocessing are to establish reproducible and robust manufacturing processes for the production of therapeutic cells. Commercially relevant bioprocesses will:
Produce products that maintain all of the quality standards of biopharmaceutical drugs
Supply both clinical and commercial quantities of therapeutic cells throughout the various stages of development. The processes and production technologies must be scalable, and

2010: The Year We Make Contact - The Best Sequel You Never Saw
Crafting a sequel to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY sounds like a fool’s errand. Being that it’s one of the most acclaimed films ever made, in order to be judged any kind of success the sequel would have to be some kind of masterpiece. 2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT isn't a masterpiece, but it's pretty darn good. In 1984, director Peter Hyams, coming off the success of CAPRICORN ONE and some mid-level studio programmers (THE STAR CHAMBER, OUTLAND) decided to give it a go. He based it on author Arthur C. Clarke’s well-received sequel to the book the original 2001 was based on, and MGM, celebrating their “diamond jubilee” (60th anniversary) gave him a healthy $28 million budget. With star Roy Scheider coming off BLUE THUNDER, and co-star John Lithgow having recently had back-to-back...

Note: My film selection process was fairly open; anything that was either produced or distributed in 2010 was fair game (I also consulted this Wikipedia entry). This is why some movies are labelled 2009 or 2011 on IMDB. Also, this by no means constitutes a comprehensive list of films that came out in 2010. That would have been exhausting.
