Cubes: VIP Tour of Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal
Dow Jones got to keep its home in the Midtown Manhattan News Corporation building after the parent company divorced itself and split into separate print and broadcasting units.

The guys were greeted by one of the legendary standing receptionists, got as close to a Pulitzer Prize as they're ever going to get, took a color-toned glimpse into the paper's past with wall sized silkscreens of old newsroom photos and managed not to end up as gossip fodder on the twitter page of the lobby's chandelier.

The Original Dow Jones Companies
For many people, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is the measure of the health of the overall stock market. In reality, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is really just the performance of a collection of 30 blue-chip stocks.
The index was created in 1896 and back then there were only 12 stocks in the index, and most of them are no longer household names.
Learn more about the original companies which made up the Dow Jones Industrial Average and what happened to them over the last 125 years on this episode of Everything Everywhere Daily.

Dow Jones got to keep its home in the Midtown Manhattan News Corporation building after the parent company divorced itself and split into separate print and broadcasting units.
Wendy Bounds,WSJ Editor and host of "Lunch Break," showed the kids at mediabistroTV that everything's going to be OK by giving them a tour of the multi-floored heart of Dow Jones.

The Dow Jones, S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite are the 3 main stock indices in the United States. A stock index is simply a measure of the performance of a group of stocks. Stock market indices are mainly used as indicators of how a specific country’s stock market and economy are performing.
Stock market indices are also used as benchmarks for investors to compare the performance of the stocks they own. For example, an investor with a strong stock portfolio will match or outperform the performance of the index it is being compared to. There are hundreds of stock market indices around the world such as the DAX which measures the performance of 30 major German companies on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Nikkei which measures the performance of the 225 most important companies in Japan, but let’s take a closer look at the top 3 indices in the United States and how to invest in them.

You’ve probably heard of names like the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite being used frequently in daily financial news or even in general conversations about the stock market, but what do these names represent?
