On July 8, 1889, published by Dow Jones & Company, the first issue of the Wall Street Journal appeared, which was four pages long and costing 2 cents. In 1882, Charles Dow, Edward Jones, and Charles Bergstresser formed the financial news agency Dow Jones & Company, which produced daily handwritten bulletins, the flimsies, delivered by messenger to subscribers in the Wall Street area.
