Don Williams (born May 27, 1939, Floydada, Texas, United States) is an American country singer, songwriter and a 2010 inductee to the Country Music Hall of Fame. He grew up in Portland, Texas, and graduated in 1958 from Gregory-Portland High School. After seven years with the folk-pop group Pozo-Seco Singers, he began his solo career in 1971, singing popular ballads and amassing 17 number one country & western hits.
His straightforward yet smooth bass-baritone voice, soft tones, and imposing build earned him the nickname: "Gentle Giant" of country music.
When Don was three years old he sang in a local talent contest—his first public performance—and won first prize, an alarm clock. He began playing guitar as a teenager, which he learned from his mother. While a teenager, he played with country, rock n' roll and folk bands. He formed his first band with Lofton Kline, called The Strangers Two, and in 1964 was approached by Susan Taylor to form a trio which ultimately became the Pozo-Seco Singers, a folk-pop group. The band recorded a song called, "Time" on a local label called Edmark Records and it became a regional hit in their home state of Texas. Columbia Records, picked up the record, signed the group, and released a series of Top 50 hits and three albums. After releasing a fourth album on Certron Records in 1970, the group disbanded in 1971.
Dr Don Williams AO HonFIEAust CPEng FTSE (1937–2001) was born into a railway family. With sound business acumen and keen intellect he oversaw revolution in Australian railway practices during the 1980s and helped initiate reform processes that continued for many years after he left the railway industry.
Williams began his railway career in 1954 as an engineering cadet for the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR), and by 1959 graduated from the University of Western Australia, where he became a Design Engineer, a position he would hold until 1964 when he briefly became the Acting Assistant District Engineer based at Kalgoorlie. In 1965 Williams resigned from the WAGR on completion of his indenture.
After leaving the WAGR Williams undertook further university studies. He undertook post-graduate degrees specialising in bridge design at Rice University in Texas and Imperial College London, gaining a PhD in 1969. In 1971 Williams returned to Australia to work for Redpath Dorman Long, a British company tasked with the redesign and reconstruction of the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne, that collapsed during initial construction in 1970. He was the Project Engineer for the project, but left in March 1977 before the bridge was officially opened.
Donald Reid Williams (September 2, 1935 – December 20, 1991), nicknamed "Dino," was an American professional baseball player. He was a 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m), 218 lb (99 kg) right-handed pitcher who had a three-game, two-week trial in Major League Baseball for the 1963 Minnesota Twins.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Williams began his 11-year professional career in 1955. Eight years later, after a successful half-season with the Triple-A Dallas-Fort Worth Rangers, he was summoned by the Twins. He made his MLB debut on August 4, 1963, against the Kansas City Athletics, in whose farm system Williams had previously toiled. In that game, he pitched 1⅓ innings of scoreless relief, although he did allow an inherited runner to score and loaded the bases in his final inning. His other two outings, on August 13 against the Baltimore Orioles and August 17 against the Washington Senators, were less successful. Williams returned to the minor leagues and remained there through the 1966 season.
20 Greatest Hits may refer to:
20 Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Kenny Rogers released by Liberty Records in 1983.
20 Greatest Hits marks Rogers' third compilation album as a solo artist. This compilation covers the entire span of Rogers' glorious chart run through the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Among the 20 tracks on the album is Rogers' early smash hit "Lucille", which made Rogers a world famous solo superstar. "The Gambler" - Rogers' chart topping story song - also makes an appearance. The single that first appeared on Rogers' first solo Greatest Hits collection in 1980, "Lady" also makes it onto the album, as does "Love Lifted Me" from 1976 (his first solo single in ten years following his split with The First Edition).
Also included are popular duets with Sheena Easton ("We've Got Tonight"), Kim Carnes ("Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer"), and Dottie West ("Till I Can Make It on My Own").
Based on hit singles from the Billboard charts, this is the strongest Kenny Rogers single disc compilation album released. Another version came in 1987 (see below). It was also re-released on CD in 1994.
20 Greatest Hits is a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles that were number one singles in the UK and US. It was released on 11 October 1982 in the United States and 18 October in the United Kingdom and marked the 20th anniversary of The Beatles' first record release, "Love Me Do," in the UK in October 1962. 20 Greatest Hits was the last Beatles album to be released with variations between the US and UK versions (some Beatles hits in the US were not released as singles in the UK, such as "Eight Days a Week" and "Yesterday").
The UK version of the album comprised all 19 tracks from the 17 Beatles singles to top the UK Singles Chart (including both sides of the double A-sides "Day Tripper"/"We Can Work It Out" and "Yellow Submarine"/"Eleanor Rigby") plus the Beatles' first chart hit "Love Me Do", which peaked at number 17 in the UK.
The versions of "Love Me Do" and "She Loves You" on the album were produced in "simulated stereo", leaving "From Me to You" as the only mono track on the compilation.
Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits is a compilation consisting of American country pop music singer, Patsy Cline's greatest hits. The album consists of Cline's biggest hits between 1957 and 1963. It is one of the biggest selling albums in the United States by any female country music artist.
Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits was released four years after her death in 1967 by Decca Records, Cline's longtime record label and the one with whom she'd had the most hits. Among its twelve tracks, the album contains seven of Cline's Top 10 country hits between 1957 and 1963.
In 1971, MCA consolidated the New York-based Decca and Kapp subsidiary labels, plus the California-based Uni label into MCA Records based in Universal City, California. The three labels maintained their identities for a short time but were retired in favor of the MCA label in 1973.
Upon Cline's induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973, the album was reissued by MCA Records and went gold all over again. In 1988, the album was reissued again on a CD format with a different cover art and was retitled 12 Greatest Hits. In 2003, the album was digitally remastered and was reissued under MCA records again with the original 1967 cover art. Bob Ludwig digitally remastered the album in 2003, making the album sound smoother in sound than it originally did before.

Don Williams performing I Believe In You Lyrics: I don't believe in superstars Organic food and foreign cars I don't believe the price of gold The certainty of growing old That right is right and left is wrong That north and south can't get along That east is east and west is west And being first is always best But I believe in love I believe in babies I believe in mom and dad And I believe in you Well I don't believe that heaven waits For only those who congregate I like to think of God as love He's down below, he's up above He's watching people everywhere He knows who does and doesn't care And I'm an ordinary man Sometimes I wonder who I am But I believe in love I believe in music I believe in magic And I believe in you I know with all my certainty What's going on with you and me Is a g...

My world, your world, angry, happy
Downward spiral, system breakdown
Nauseous, panic, bring on havoc
So reach out with patience
And hold me while I hold you
I can't solve your problems today, oh no
But you can lean on me now
Distance grows fonder, sincere I wonder
Lover or ally, cleanse me, don't try
Torture, cave in, bruise me 'til I say when
'Cuz I've got no patience
So hold me while I hold you
I can't solve your problems today, oh no
But you can lean on me now
I can't solve your problems today, oh no
But you can lean on me now
I don't ever wanna see you cry no more, no more
I don't ever wanna see you cry no more, no more
I don't ever wanna see you cry no more, no more
I don't ever wanna see you cry no more, no more
No more, no more
(See you cry no more)
No more, no more
(See you cry no more)
I can't solve your problems today, oh no
But you can lean on me now
I can't solve your problems today, oh no
But you can lean on me now
