Woody Woodpecker in "The Mad Hatter" by Dick Lundy.
This Woody Woodpecker-cartoon was written by Webb Smith and Ben Hardaway, whilst the animation team consisted of Emily Laverne Harding, Ken O'Brien and Fred Moore. All working under the direction of Dick Lundy. This short premiered in 1948(on the 16th of February) as the first Woody Woodpecker-cartoon to be published by United Artists.
Receiving a telegram inviting him to start working as an actor gets the ever-jolly Woody jumping with glee. On This Day in Disney History - Jun 9th
On This Day in Disney History….it’s Donald Duck’s Birthday! Donald Duck made his very first film appearance in 1934’s The Wise Little Hen, a Silly Symphony short by Walt Disney. Donald's appearance in this cartoon, as created by animator Dick Lundy, is similar to his modern look except his features are more elongated, his body plumper, and his feet bigger. The short features the voices of Clarence Nash as Donald Duck, Pinto Colvig as Peter Pig (who would also go on to voice Goofy) and Florence Gill as the Wise Little Hen. So make it a Ducky Day and celebrate Donald Duck’s birthday today!

A Remake of an older video that got taken down due to copyright.
Michael Richard Lah (September 1, 1912 - October 13, 1995) was an American animator and director during Hollywood's Golden Age of Animation. He is best known for his work at MGM where he spent most of his time at but is primarily known for his work for Tex Avery's unit.
Mike Lah began working for Disney in the early to mid 30's. He left to go to MGM in the late 30's where he worked for the Hugh Harman unit working on Barney Bear Shorts. He was briefly moved to the Will Hanna and Joe Barbera unit to work the Tom and Jerry shorts in the mid 40's. In the late 40's he was briefly assigned to direct a few more Barney Bear shorts before being assigned to the Tex Avery's unit where he arguably animated his best work. In May 1950, Tex had a nervous mental breakdown due to overwork and had to go into therapy for about a year. As a result, Dick Lundy took over his unit and Lah found himself animating for Barney Bear once again. When Tex returned in June of 1951, Mike Lah continued animating for Tex. In March 1953 however, Tex unit was shut down with Tex leaving MGM for good in June. This left two cartoons, "Deputy Droopy" and "Cellbound" unfinished and had to completed by Mike Lah. In 1955 when Will and Joe took over producers, they gave Lah the directing job after Tex declined to return. Mike Lah would go on to make seven Droopy shorts until the studio's closure with "Droopy Leprechaun" being the 2nd to last cartoon to be released by MGM. He then briefly joined Hanna Barbera and eventually joined Quartet Films where he animated on various commercials.
Mike Lah animation style was very angular and crude and was fast paced which was a perfect fit for Tex Avery's sense of timing.
Music:
Earl Hooker- "Lucky You"/ Jody Williams - "Lucky Lou"
Cartoons:
Doggone Tired
Daredevil Droopy
Wags To Riches
Rock-a-Bye Bear
Little Rural Riding Hood
Droopy's Double Trouble
Part Time Pal (Tom and Jerry)
The Chump Champ
Magical Maestro
Homesteader Droopy
Solid Serenade (Tom and Jerry)
