High school league set-ups are up for change every two years, so the 2025-26 school year will see the same league formats as we have this year with the six-team DesertEmpireLeague and the four-team Desert Valley League and Sun Valley League.
The boys basketball season is in full swing and the start of the race for the Desert Sky and Mojave River league titles is just around the corner ... Valley leagues ... Cross Valley League ... Desert Sky League.
Oak Hills’ Keonahi'ilani Solaita highlights the all-league volleyball selections from across the HighDesert, as the 2024 season is officially in the books ... In the Desert Sky League, Barstow’s Emersyn Ebel took the Player of the Year award.
Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage shared the Desert EmpireLeague crown last season, and have teams that look solid so far this season ... In the Desert Valley League, Coachella Valley returns as league champs with a competitive group.
While we still don't know which teams will win league titles in the Desert Valley, Desert Empire and Sun Valley leagues, and which players will earn league MVP honors, we've compiled a list of players to watch closer over the next couple of months.
With the 2024-25 boys soccer season officially underway, it’s time to put together a list of players to watch from across the HighDesert... Agape League ... Lucerne Valley (9-1), 2 ... Silver Valley (5-4-1), 5 ... Cross Valley League ... Desert Sky League.
Apple Valley looks poised to defend the Mojave RiverLeague title, returning a core of starting players, most notably Jadyn Bechtel ... Meanwhile, in the Desert Sky League, Granite Hills is looking to capture a seventh-straight league title.
Palm Desert and Rancho ... In the Desert Valley League, Coachella Valley cruised to a league title, and Banning took the Sun Valley League title, though the Broncos are not among the area valley teams.
Yucca Valley QB Michael Ramos Jr ... After the season ended, Desert Valley League coaches voted Ramos as the league’s co-offensive player of the year, along with Coachella Valley’s star running back AaronRamirez.
The Coachella Valley High volleyball team completed a perfect season in the first-ever four-team Desert Valley League... The offensive MVP was an easy choice in Coachella Valley star LeslieDelgado ... Leslie Delgado, Coachella Valley (Sr.)Defensive MVP.
And while Coachella Valley High'sAaronRamirez didn't lead the valley in rushing, he recorded at least 1,000 yards for the third consecutive season in helping the Arabs to a Desert Valley League title.
Banning High School won the 2024 Sun Valley League football title, and this week the Broncos headlined the ... As a junior, Broach was the defensive player of the year in the Desert Valley League.
In a turn of events due to the league ...The newDesert Valley League does not meet that criteria so the Rajahs' championship teams do not get an automatic bid as they would've in seasons past.
