Dallas Texans Soccer Club is a youth soccer club based in Dallas, Texas. The club is one of the top youth soccer clubs in the United States, and one of the largest in Texas. The club has affiliates in Houston, San Antonio, and Austin along with its base in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Additional teams are located in Pensacola, FL and Ottawa, Canada. Founded in 1993 by Hassan Nazari, the club has produced many players who have played professionally at various levels in the U.S. and overseas, including United States men's national soccer team captain Clint Dempsey and players Brek Shea and Omar Gonzalez. The club's teams have found success in many major tournaments in the United States, including state titles, regional titles and more than eleven USYSA National Championships. The club has also experienced great success in some of the most prestigious tournaments in Europe, such as the Gothia Cup.
The Texans are only American club to have won the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup supergroup.
The Dallas Texans played in the National Football League for one season, 1952, with a record of 1–11. They were one of the worst teams in NFL history, both on (lowest franchise winning percentage) and off the field. The team was based first in Dallas, then Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Akron, Ohio, during its only season. The Texans were the last NFL team to fold.
History
After the 1951 season, the financially troubled New York Yanks franchise was put on the market. Ted Collins had founded that franchise in 1944 as the Boston Yanks, moved it to New York City in 1949 as the Bulldogs, and renamed it the Yanks in 1950. Unable to find a buyer, Collins sold the team back to the league.
A few months later, a Dallas-based group led by a pair of young millionaires, Giles Miller and his brother, Connell, bought what was ostensibly a new franchise—the first-ever major league team based in Texas. However, it also acquired the entire Yanks roster. Thus, for all intents and purposes, the Millers bought the Yanks and moved them to Dallas. Home games were scheduled to be played at the Cotton Bowl. The Millers originally wanted to name the team the Rangers, but later decided to name them the Texans instead.

The character Jenna Wade, who will be portrayed by series regular Priscilla Presley in later seasons, also returns for two episodes, now played by Francine Tacker. Longrunning supporting actors Jared Martin (Steven "Dusty" Farlow). George O. Petrie (Harv Smithfield), Stephanie Blackmore (Serena Wald), Tom Fuccello (Dave Culver), Jeff Cooper (Dr. Simon Ellby), Dennis Patrick (Vaughn Leland) and Barry Corbin (Sheriff Fenton Washburn) make their debuts. Mel Ferrer (Harrison Page) appears in two episodes as Pam's immediate supervisor at The Store after her promotion to Buyer. Stephen Elliott (Scotty Demarest) and Martha Scott (Patricia Shepard), who appear in one and two episodes, respectively, will return as "special guest stars" for seasons 8 and 10 (Elliot), and 9 (Scott). Characters Gary (now played by Ted Shackelford) and Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark) appear for one and two episodes, respectively, promoting DallasspinoffKnots Landing, premiering in December 1979.
