Hip Hop was the mascot of the Philadelphia 76ersbasketball team. A rabbit character, Hip Hop usually entertained Sixers fans during halftime and time-outs by performing acrobaticslam dunks off of a trampoline, often over an item or person, such as a motorcycle, a Sixer Dancer, a fan, or a ladder.
Hip Hop also appeared at various Sixers publicity events and fundraisers.
He has a sidekick named Lil Hip-Hop. He also has helpers named the Hare Raisers, who help him out at every home game.
It was revealed Hip-Hop would not be returning post lockout under new Sixers ownership. The decision was unanimous both from the new owners and the fan base.
Since it has eight faces, it is an octahedron. However, the term octahedron is primarily used to refer to the regular octahedron, which has eight triangular faces. Because of the ambiguity of the term octahedron and the dissimilarity of the various eight-sided figures, the term is rarely used without clarification.
Before sharpening, many pencils take the shape of a long hexagonal prism.
Hip is a slang term sometimes defined as fashionably current, and in the know. It has also been defined as "an attitude, a stance" in opposition to the "unfree world", or to what is square, or prude.
Hip, like cool, does not refer to one specific quality. What is considered hip is continuously changing.
Origin of term
The term hip is recorded in African American Vernacular English (AAVE) in the early 1900s. In the 1930s and 1940s, it had become a common slang term, particularly in the African-American dominated jazz scene.
Research and speculation by both amateur and professional etymologists suggest that "hip" is derived from an earlier form hep but that is disputed. Many etymologists believe that the terms hip, hep and hepcat derive from the west AfricanWolof language word hepicat, which means "one who has his eyes open". Some etymologists reject this, however, tracing the origin of this putative etymology to David Dalby, a scholar of African languages who tentatively suggested the idea in the 1960s,
and some have even adopted the denigration "to cry Wolof" as a general dismissal or belittlement of etymologies they believe to be based on "superficial similarities" rather than documented attribution.
Hop, occasionally written HOP, is an abbreviation for Hsp70-Hsp90 Organizing Protein. It functions as a co-chaperone which reversibly links together the protein chaperones Hsp70 and Hsp90.
Hop belongs to the large group of co-chaperones, which regulate and assist the major chaperones (mainly heat shock proteins). It is one of the best studied co-chaperones of the Hsp70/Hsp90-complex. It was first discovered in yeast and homologues were identified in human, mouse, rat, insects, plants, parasites, and virus. The family of these proteins is referred to as STI1 (stress inducible protein) and can be divided into yeast, plant, and animal STI1 (Hop).

The gene for human Hop is located on chromosome 11q13.1 and consists of 14 exons.
Structure
STI proteins are characterized by some structural features: All homologues have nine tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) motifs, that are clustered into domains of three TPRs. The TPR motif is a very common structural feature used by many proteins and provides the ability of directing protein-protein interactions. Crystallographic structural information is available for the N-terminal TPR1 and the central TPR2A domains in complex with Hsp90 resp. Hsp70 ligandpeptides.
Hopkins was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, son of Daniel Hopkins (1800–1849), surveyor, and his wife Sarah, née Carter. He was the thirteenth of 14 children. His family were Methodists, and his upbringing was somewhat hard and puritanical. When his father died, his mother was left with a home and a small estate. The boy went to the district school, and from the age of 14 years worked at various avocations until 1864 when he enlisted in the 130th Ohio Volunteer Regiment to fight in the American Civil War when 17 years old. He had very little active service, as the regiment's term of service was only three months.
In computer networking, a hop is one portion of the path between source and destination. Data packets pass through bridges, routers and gateways on the way. Each time packets are passed to the next device, a hop occurs.
Since store and forward and other latencies are incurred through each hop, a large number of hops between source and destination implies lower real-time performance.
Hop count
The hop count refers to the number of intermediate devices (like routers) through which data must pass between source and destination, rather than flowing directly over a single wire. Each router along the data path constitutes a hop, as the data is moved from one Layer 3 network to another. Hop count is therefore a basic measurement of distance in a network.
Hop count is a rough measure of distance between two hosts. A hop count of n means that n gateways separate the source host from the destination host. By itself, this metric is, however, not useful for determining the optimum network path, as it does not take into consideration the speed, load, reliability, or latency of any particular hop, but merely the total count. Nevertheless, some routing protocols such as RIP use hop count as their sole metric.

Here we’ll look at how to work out the faces, edges and vertices of a hexagonal prism.
We’ll start by counting the faces, these are the flat surfaces that make the shape. A hexagonal prism has 8 faces altogether - 2 hexagons and 6 rectangles.
Next we’ll work out how many edges the hexagonal prism has, which are where two faces meet. A hexagonal prism has 18 edges.
Next we’ll count the corners of the shape (the corners). A count will show there are 12 vertices.

How Many Faces, Edges And Vertices Does A Hexagonal Prism Have?
Here we’ll look at how to work out the faces, edges and vertices of a hexagonal prism.
We’ll start by counting the faces, these are the flat surfaces that make the shape. A hexagonal prism has 8 faces altogether - 2 hexagons and 6 rectangles.
Next we’ll work out how many edges the hexagonal prism has, which are where two faces meet. A hexagonal prism has 18 edges.
Next we’ll count the corners of the shape (the corners). A count will show there are 12 vertices.
