Kerry is the 5th largest of the 32 counties of Ireland by area and the 13th largest by population. Uniquely, it is bordered by only two other counties: County Limerick to the east and County Cork to the south-east. The county town is Tralee. The diocesan see is Killarney, which is one of Ireland's most famous tourist destinations. The Lakes of Killarney, an area of outstanding natural beauty are located in Killarney National Park. The tip of the Dingle Peninsula is the most westerly point of Ireland.
Baronies
There are nine historic baronies in the county. While baronies continue to be officially defined units, they are no longer used for many administrative purposes. Their official status is illustrated by Placenames Orders made since 2003, where official Irish names of baronies are listed under "Administrative units".

A former UK Parliament constituency in Ireland, returning two Members of Parliament. In 1885, it was split into four constituencies. From the time of Irish independence, the area was no longer represented in the UK Parliament, as it was no longer part of the United Kingdom.
Boundaries
This constituency comprised the whole of County Kerry, except for the Borough of Tralee.

The island's geography comprises relatively low-lying mountains surrounding a central plain, with several navigable rivers extending inland. The island has lush vegetation, a product of its mild but changeable climate which avoids extremes in temperature. Thick woodlands covered the island until the Middle Ages. As of 2013, the amount of land that is wooded in Ireland is about 11% of the total, compared with a European average of 35%. There are 26 extant mammal species native to Ireland. The Irish climate is very moderated and classified as oceanic. As a result, winters are milder than expected for such a northerly area. However, summers are cooler than those in Continental Europe. Rainfall and cloud cover are abundant.

Kerry | Every County Has a Story | RTÉ 1916
EVERY COUNTY HAS A STORY
RTÉ 1916 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH IRELAND 2016
Every single county in Ireland has a connection with the 1916 Rising. In an effort to explore these connections and stories, RTÉ, in partnership with Ireland 2016, embarked on an ambitious project to produce 32 one minute films or shorts – one for every county.
The films explore the individual connections with the events of 1916 in each county or a particular story around the county’s particular commemoration of Easter 1916. This initiative is dedicated to allowing each country tell its own story about how it was touched by this momentous turning point in Ireland’s history.
Films for all counties will become available on rte.ie/1916 over the coming weeks.

County Kerry in Ireland | Euromaxx
We visit Dingle Peninsula which attracts one-and-a-half million tourists from around the world each year. The main town and tourist centre is Dingle-- a fishing port of about 1200 inhabitants. However, Dingle's most famous resident doesn't live in the town -- he resides offshore. He's Fungie, the Dingle Dolphin, who showed up about 30 years ago and decided to stay. We actually get to meet him!

Driving The Ring Of Kerry In 1 Day: Amazing Sites To See In Ireland | Killarney National Park
Continuing our Ireland road trip, we left Cork and headed to Killarney where we spent 2 days seeing the sites and driving the Ring of Kerry. First on the list was a stop at Killarney National Park to visit Muckross House, Ross Castle and the Gap of Dunloe. We then drove the Ring of Kerry in one day and saw some amazing sites including the Kenmare Stone Circle, Staigue Stone Fort, Derrynane Beach, the Kerry Cliffs, and Portmagee. If you’re planning a trip to Ireland, we highly recommend making time to drive or take a tour of the Ring of Kerry. Killarney is also a great home base to explore around County Kerry.
We stayed at an Airbnb in the heart of Killarney that was a few minutes walk to the main streets full of restaurants, shops and pubs. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/34019211?source_imp...

We stayed at an Airbnb in the heart of Killarney that was a few minutes walk to the main streets full of restaurants, shops and pubs. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/34019211?source_impression_id=p3_1703965673_tGMIwffDYRrrtkxc

The Ring of Kerry, Co. Kerry, Ireland in 4K | A Cinematic Travel Film
The Ring of Kerry like never before. I had the pleasure of being able to stay in the Dingle Peninsula during the summer. The area is absolutely beautiful with vast mountain ranges, stunning cliffs and beaches. I wasn't able to capture all of it, but this is what I did capture.
I highly recommend visiting The Ring of Kerry, it is truly amazing and the views will not disappoint.

If you drive the Ring of Kerry in a day, how much can you really see? Take our road trip guide and see the top things to do in a day.
The Drive starts in Killarney National Park at Ross Castle, moving on to Muck Ross House and then the short walk from there to Torc Waterfall.
Driving out of the Park we head up into the hills and see Panoramic views of the lakes and National park at Ladies View, stopping for an early lunch.
Hugging the coastline along Kenmare Bay, there are plenty of places to pull over and take in the views.
Arriving at one of the furthest points Park Plaza we can see Skellig Michael (even though overcast) this was a famous filming location for Star Wars The Last Jedi
Continuing round the route Ballycarberry Castle now derelict and sadly not accessible close-up, but you can still get some good pictures from 100 metres away. It is also near to the Leacanabuaile Stone Fort. On top of the hill you get panoramic views of area and Castle.
It took us about 9 hours to do the drive, before starting to head for Dingle our stop for the night. From there we will tour the Slea Head Drive, and see how it compares to the Ring of Kerry.
There is so much to see and do. We have shown you just a small amount of things and really stuck to the road route. You need a few days to explore all the attractions in the centre of the Peninsula.
