Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a 2014 American science documentary television series. The show is a follow-up to the 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which was presented by Carl Sagan on the Public Broadcasting Service and is considered a milestone for scientific documentaries. This series was developed to bring back the foundation of science to network television at the height of other scientific-based television series and films. The show is presented by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, who, as a young high school student, was inspired by Sagan. Among the executive producers are Seth MacFarlane, whose financial investment was instrumental in bringing the show to broadcast television, and Ann Druyan, Sagan's widow, a co-author and co-creator of the original television series. The show is produced by Brannon Braga, and Alan Silvestri provides the backing score.
The series loosely follows the same thirteen-episode format and storytelling approach that the original Cosmos used, including elements such as the "Ship of the Imagination" and the "Cosmic Calendar", but features information updated since the 1980 series along with extensive computer-generated graphics and animation footage augmenting the narration.
Cosmos is a 2015 French-Portuguese film directed by Andrzej Żuławski. It tells the story of two friends who spend time at a countryside guesthouse where they discover mysterious and frightening signs. The film is based on the novel Cosmos by Witold Gombrowicz. The filmmakers label it as a "metaphysical noir thriller".
Cosmos was Andrzej Żuławski's first film in 15 years. It was produced through Paulo Branco's Alfama Films in collaboration with the Portuguese company Leopardo Filmes. Principal photography took place from mid-November to late December 2014.
"Cosmos"(孤妄 〜コスモス〜,こすもす Kosumosu) is a Japanese-language song, and the third single, by Japanese band Antic Cafe. The song peaked at No. 91 on the Japanese singles chart. The two Japanese characters are pronounced kosumosu (こすもす).

Odyssey is a science fiction novel by Jack Mcdevitt. It was a Nebula Award nominee for 2007. It's set in the 23rd century and "explores the immorality of big business and the short-sightedness of the American government in minimizing support for space travel."
Literary significance and reception
Carl Hays reviewing in Booklist said "McDevitt's energetic character-driver prose serves double duty by exploring Earth's future political climate and forecasting the potential dangers awaiting humanity among the stars".Kirkus Reviews was slightly more critical calling it "a low-key, reasonably surprising and involving tale, although not among McDevitt's best." Jackie Cassada reviewing for Library Journal said "the author of Chindiand other novels featuring the Academy succeeds in visualizing a believable future of space exploration as well as believable personalities whose lives and loves put a human face on scientific speculation."

In 1959, when the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) was established, its classes were initially held in the canteen building of HBTI until IITK had its own campus. HBTI is the mother institute of the National Sugar Institute (in 1936, then known as Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology), the Government Central Textile Institute (in 1937), now known as the Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute, and the Glass Institute. It was also one of the 127 technical institutions in India which were the recipients of funding from World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) in the phase one (2004-2009) of the Technical Engineering Educational Quality Improvement Project (TEQIP) - the first World Bank project in Higher education in India.
Odyssey is the fifth album by Norwegian jazz guitarist Terje Rypdal recorded in 1975 and released on the ECM label.
Reception
The Allmusic review by Michael P. Dawson awarded the album 4½ stars calling it "A magnificant effort that combines crushingly powerful rock/jazz with long, brooding electric ruminations".

The album's first appearance on CD was in a single-disc version released in 1994 with "Rolling Stone" omitted. In 2012 ECM released a three-disc box set with the complete original track listing, plus Unfinished Highballs, a previously unreleased live recording from 1976.
