Russian President Vladimr Putin's biggest mistake was his military cooperation with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
Vladimr Putin first thought that this partnership would help him and the war in Ukraine.
At first, Putin tried to conceal this supply of troops.
For this reason, it was claimed that these soldiers, arriving on ships from the Pacific Fleet, were brought from the autonomous regions of Russia.
But the truth soon emerged.
More than ten thousand North Korean soldiers had officially started fighting for Russia in Kursk.
This was a critical period for Putin to understand why the use of North Korean troops in Kursk was seriously damaging his partnership with Jong Un.
It was during this period that North Korean soldiers were unable to communicate adequately with Russian forces on the battlefield due to language differences.
It was even revealed that North Korean soldiers fighting for Putin were even targeting Russian troops.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, eight Russian soldiers were eliminated by North Korean forces in a friendly fire incident in Kursk.
Undeterred by this tragic situation, Putin and Jong-Un continued to use North Koreans on the battlefield.
This time, however, the Ukrainians were targeting them.
Most recently, in Kursk, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces eliminated 77 North Korean soldiers in one go alone.
Even these setbacks could not dissuade the Russian and North Korean leaders from their joint military alliance.
Putin and Jong-Un continued to use North Korean troops in Kursk.
But both leaders were shaken by the revelations of what had happened to the North Koreans on the battlefield and how many total casualties they had suffered.
The battle at Kursk showed Putin and Jong-Un the harsh realities in stark relief.

Today, there is interesting news from the Kursk direction.
Here, the Russian military, bolstered by North Korean forces, attempted a bold assault to eliminate a critical Ukrainian bridgehead east of the Psel River. This move set off a series of intense battles and revealed the lengths Russians would go to keep North Korean involvement a secret and take credit for their victories.
The Russian objective, supported by North Korean troops, in this sector of the Kursk salient, was clear: to neutralize the Ukrainian presence east of the Psel River, which posed a significant threat to their operations. This strategic move aims to neutralize a possible Ukrainian penetration toward Borki and potentially Giri, which Ukrainians have already reached once early in the Kursk offensive. Such a repeated advance would disrupt Russian operations across the Kursk salient, as it would force the redeployment of troops and resources to this sector, away from their efforts in the northwest.
The key position here was Plekhovo, which was defended only by a small Ukrainian contingent due to its location in the lowlands and the connected logistical disadvantages, being separated from the rest of the Kursk salient by the Psel River. Exploiting these vulnerabilities, North Korean troops advanced through minefields and reportedly achieved a breakthrough by seizing the village in a highly attritional operation lasting two hours. Geolocated footage from the region confirms the huge columns of North Korean troops advancing to achieve their first success in the area. Despite this, tensions quickly emerged as Russian forces started looking for a way to claim credit for the victory after initial reports suggested that Russian units only entered Plekhovo after the North Koreans had secured it.
In a brutal twist, reports from Ukrainian intelligence and President Volodymyr Zelensky indicate that Russian forces started to burn the faces of deceased North Korean soldiers to conceal their identities. This grisly act, confirmed by drone footage, underscores Russia’s effort to obscure the presence of foreign troops on its soil and avoid acknowledging its reliance on North Korean forces to reclaim its own territory. Additionally, Ukrainian officials have alleged that North Korean soldiers are being disguised as Russian personnel, highlighting the Kremlin’s desperate attempts to maintain the facade of self-sufficiency.
Following the capture of Plekhovo, Russian forces sought to capitalize on their momentum, and achieve a propaganda victory by advancing toward Oleksandriya and into Ukrainian territory, as Russian state TV was quick to claim a success. Unfortunately for Russians, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces thwarted this attempt with precision strikes from drones and ambush tactics, forcing the Russian saboteurs to retreat to their own territory, however Ukrainian units decided this was not enough. They pursued those that went past the border and eliminated both them and the remaining enemy forces, dealing a quick blow to Russian aspirations of further gains and spoiling the desired propaganda effect.
Undeterred, Russian commanders decided to once again rely on North Korean troops, this time deploying them in a high-risk river crossing assault on Kurilovka. Lacking the tactical advantages present at Plekhovo, and forced to storm without cover, the North Korean forces were decimated by Ukrainian drone operators while still trying to cross the river. The aftermath of the failed assault left the water littered with the bodies of North Korean soldiers, marking another devastating failure for them in the region.
Overall, Russia’s continuing reliance on North Korean troops highlights a pattern of attritional and questionable tactics. Despite their initial success near Plekhovo, the North Koreans have suffered staggering losses, with Ukrainian intelligence estimating over 220 casualties in just a few days of combat. These heavy losses, combined with Russia’s efforts to conceal their presence, paint a grim picture of the exploitation of the North Korean fighters in the war. The Kremlin’s reliance on North Korean troops underscores the challenges it faces in sustaining its operations. While these troops provide numerical support, their lack of combat experience and the brutal treatment they receive from their Russian counterparts limit their effectiveness. Ultimately, the deployment of North Korean forces serves as a desperate attempt to bolster Russia’s faltering campaign in Kursk while exposing the depths of its logistical and strategic vulnerabilities.

North Korea remains a mystery to the outside world, with much of what we know coming from defectors who endured great hardship. One common story is of mandatory military service under Kim Jong-Un's regime. For women, this experience is particularly challenging, shaped by societal pressures, harsh conditions, and often unspoken systemic abuse.

North Korean Soldiers Who Did Not Want To Fight For Russia Have Joined The Side Of Ukraine!

Hello ANKA DALIY NEWS viewers, we are here with a remarkable development regarding the increasingly complex dynamics of war. Today, the balances in conflict zones are not limited to the parties to the conflict; unexpected elements can profoundly affect international relations and military strategies. Recent news reports indicate that troops from a country not directly involved in the war are moving towards Ukraine. While this situation has caused widespread repercussions in the world public opinion, it leaves many questions in mind. Who are these soldiers, why are they involved in this war and what is the extent of their role on the ground? Moreover, how will this development affect the course of the war in Ukraine?
The presence of these troops is a factor that could affect the current balance of power on the ground. However, according to reports, their combat experience, equipment and motivation levels raise questions about their ability to be an effective military force. Lack of training, lack of modern equipment and low morale are among the factors that severely limit the performance of these soldiers. Nevertheless, information from the field suggests that they are not merely playing a passive role, but are exhibiting extraordinary behavior that can influence the situation on the ground.
Particularly noteworthy are allegations that some of these soldiers have unexpectedly switched sides. Reports from the field suggest that some soldiers have been influenced by previous events. The reasons behind these individual or collective behaviors are intriguing. Past traumas, ideological leanings or logistical difficulties are among the reasons for these sudden changes of heart. This situation reveals once again that war should not only be associated with its military dimension, but also with human psychology and motivational factors.

North Korea held its five-yearly parliamentary election on March 10, the second time the polls have been held since Kim Jong-un came to power.
But in keeping with one of Pyongyang's most enduring slogans – "Single-minded unity" – the red ballot sheets only have a single name of the local Workers' Party of Korea-selected candidate.
In 2014, a similar election was described as attracting a 99.9 per cent turnout rate, with 100 per cent of votes cast in favour of Kim’s ruling party.

It's no secret that China cracks down on its own dissidents inside the country. But in recent years, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) seems more willing than ever to ignore international borders as it wields its hammer into other sovereign countries.
And that includes South Korea, an American ally where our parents and grandparents fought and died to keep them free from communism.
There, a U.S.-based dance company is faced with censorship for exposing the persecution of faithful people in China.
Why has CCP infiltration been so successful in South Korea? How is this even able to occur under a pro-American president? And what are the conseque...

Kim Jong-un's new year message
The North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, has said his resolve for complete denuclearisation remains unchanged but he may have to seek a 'new path' if the United States continues to demand one-sided disarmament by his regime. In his new year address, Kim said there would be faster progress on denuclearisation if the United States took corresponding action. He added that he is willing to meet Donald Trump at any time to produce results that the international community would welcome.

In the video aired by the North's state-run television station, KRT, soldiers performed multiple shows of strength: smashing items, breaking free from chains, lying on glass and throwing knives.

And what are the consequences for America if that country changes its color to become a communist country or a de facto ally of the CCP? Join us in South Korea for an exclusive investigation.
“That power runs into every sphere of Korean society. It’s the reality, unfortunately,” says Lee Ji-Yong, professor at the Department of Chinese Studies at KeiMyung University, when telling us about Chinese infiltration in South Korea.
“China, of course, regards South Korea as a vulnerable, weak link in the American encirclement of China,” says Kim Tae-woo, senior research fellow at Korea Institute for Military Affairs.
“I worry about that because of just how important South Korea is in stopping the advance of communism. I'm really, really concerned about their infiltration,” says Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.).

STORYLINE:
North Korean leader Kim Jong II welcomed Vietnam's Communist Party chief Nong Duc Manh to Pyongyang on Tuesday.
APTN North Korea filmed the rare sight of Kim at the airport greeting a visiting dignitary, who he embraced as he descended from the aircraft.
Nong Duc Manh, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and other senior party and government officials, is only the second Vietnamese leader to visit North Korea in 50 years since the visit by President Ho Chi Minh in 1957.
As such, the visit was marked with considerable fanfare.
Men and women holding flags and waving coloured flowers looked on as Kim and Nong walked the red carpet inspecting troops, with Kim stopping to salute various soldiers along the way.
In the middle of the tarmac Nong was presented with flowers by a women in traditional costume and was later given a scarf worn by young people who had performed a synchronised dance.
The three-day visit is aimed at boosting ties between two of the world's few remaining communist countries, according to state media and officials in Hanoi.
Speaking at a regular press briefing last week, a Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Vietnam would not lecture North Korea in adopting Vietnam's methods to help it emerge from international isolation.
Vietnam has embraced free market policies to become one of the world's fastest growing economies, but remains a long-term ideological ally of Pyongyang's.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has watched an extreme martial arts demonstration by soldiers at a military event marking the 76th founding anniversary of its ruling party.

In the video aired by the North's state-run television station, KRT, soldiers performed multiple shows of strength: smashing items, breaking free from chains, lying on glass and throwing knives. Kim smiled and clapped as he watched the show at the Defence Development Exhibition 'Self-Defence-2021'. During the exhibition, Kim said his country's weapons development is necessary in the face of the US' hostile policies and a military buildup in South Korea.

The Chinese Communist Party is profoundly influential both inside and outside China's borders. But few know of its early history, and until recently, the most prominent narrative of its origins came from the Party itself. But the recent release of two collections of documents reveals a more nuanced story than the official narrative. On this episode of Behind the Book, we speak with Tony Saich, Daewoo Professor of International Affairs and Director of the Ash Center at Harvard Kennedy School, about his new book, "Finding Allies and Making Revolution: The Early Years of the Chinese Communist Party," which provides an in-depth study of these new documents.

Xi Jinping, president of China and general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party since 2012, is one of the most powerful political figures in the world. By initiating an unprecedented third term as China’s leader in October, 2022, Xi has signaled that he may plan to remain in power for life – making him the first Chinese leader since Mao Zedong to hold unchecked power over the People’s Republic of China.
But Xi’s connection to Mao goes deeper than a shared outlook that emphasizes unifying the party around a single leader. When Xi was just a young boy, his family – who had held elite party status thanks to his father’s pivotal role in Mao's “Long March” in 1935 – was denounced during Mao’s Cultural Revolution, a chaotic decade of purges and persecution that saw even Mao’s closest allies removed from power. During this time, a teenaged Xi was forced to work hard labor in the countryside outside of Beijing, and his father was imprisoned.
Xi’s subsequent rise after Mao died in 1976 was a methodical process in using his restored elite status as leverage to gain prominent party positions in rural provinces around China, culminating in his promotion to the all-powerful Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in 2007.
From there, Xi pulled from Mao’s playbook: purging his political rivals and promoting those with whom he shared close personal ties. This process undid the work of Mao’s successor, Deng Xiaoping, to prevent the consolidation of power around a single leader in China.
By the time his third term began in October 2022, Xi had reshaped the party and Chinese military leadership to be fully packed with Xi loyalists. And even in the face of social upheaval surrounding his failed Zero Covid policy, Xi has shown no sign of giving up any of the power he has consolidated since taking over as leader of the country.
