A national aviation authority (NAA) or civil aviation authority is a government statutory authority in each country that oversees the approval and regulation of civil aviation.
Role
Due to the inherent dangers in the use of flight vehicles, NAA's typically regulate the following critical aspects of aircraftairworthiness and their operation:
Design of aircraft, engines, airborne equipment and ground-based equipment affecting flight safety
Conditions of manufacture and test of aircraft and equipment
Depending on the legal system of the parent country, the NAA will derive its power from an act of Parliament (such as the Civil or Federal Aviation Act), and is then empowered to make regulations within the bounds of the act. This allows technical aspects of airworthiness to be dealt with by subject matter experts and not politicians.

The Aircraft Accident & Incident Investigation Division investigates aircraft accidents and incidents.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation of Egypt (MCA,Arabic:وزارة الطيران المدني) is the ministry in charge of civil aviation in Egypt.

Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore launches first safety culture survey
A first-of-its-kind survey by civil aviation authorities to take stock of the sector's safety culture shows many seem to be taking the issue seriously. Nearly 4,000 workers from 400 aviation firms took part in the survey. Their roles include aerodome operators, ground handlers and freight forwarders. Eight in 10 agree with statements that they are keenly aware of safety risks to themselves, as well as risks they may be causing to others. Seven in 10 agree they are driven to seek improvement in safety, while six in 10 also trust that safety is the motivation of their actions, and operate on a mutual understanding of acceptable behaviours. Matt Driskill, Editor of Asian Aviation, shared his thoughts on the survey findings.
