Although the Sprinter began service in March 2008, the eastbound platform of the station remained closed for several months due to construction to improve its platform. It finally opened in September of the same year.
The street Escondido Avenue station was renamed Civic Center Drive in 2010 in light of the construction of a large city hall complex. The station's name was again renamed Civic Center-Vista to differentiate it from the San Marcos Civic Center station.
State Route 607 was a state highway serving the Las Vegas Valley including Las Vegas, Nevada and North Las Vegas. The highway followed Eastern Avenue, a section line arterial in Las Vegas and continued on Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas. The route was turned over to local control by 2008.
Route description
State Route 607 began at Sahara Avenue (SR 589) at the Las Vegas city limit. It followed Eastern Avenue northward towards Owens Avenue, where the roadway entered the City of North Las Vegas and changed names to Civic Center Drive. SR 607 continued north to pass through downtown North Las Vegas before terminating at Cheyenne Avenue (SR 574).

North of the "Five Points" intersections with Charleston Boulevard (SR 159) and Fremont Street (SR 582), SR 607 shifted slightly eastward to run over the former 25th Street alignment as it headed towards North Las Vegas.
Nevada DOT had plans to abandon the route from the state's highway system. By January 2008, the route had been completely relinquished to local control.
The Civic Center is bounded by Market Street on the south, Franklin Street on the west, Turk Street on the north, and Leavenworth and Seventh streets on the east. The Civic Center is bounded by the Tenderloin neighborhood on the north and east and by the Hayes Valley neighborhood on the west; Market Street separates it from the South of Market or "SoMa" neighborhood.
Charleston Civic Center is a municipal complex located in the downtown area of Charleston, West Virginia. In 1953, the first in a series of general obligation bonds was approved by city voters for the construction of a civic center in the downtown area of Charleston, West Virginia between Lee Street and Quarrier Street on the banks of the Elk River just before the Elk River empties into the Kanawha River. When the original Civic Center opened in January 1959 at the cost of $2.5 million, it consisted of a 6,000-seat arena and the 750-seat "Little Theater."
The Civic Center underwent its first renovation and expansion in 1964 when 2,400 additional seats were added to the arena and a paved parking lot and an ice rink were added to the facilities. The $1.5 million project was financed through the sale of revenue bonds.
The Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center is a theater located in the SoNo district of Atlanta, Georgia. The theater, which seats 4,600, regularly hosts touring productions of Broadway musicals, concerts, seminars, comedy acts, and high school graduations and commencement ceremonies for Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. In addition to performances, the civic center can host conferences and exhibits as well, with 5,800 square feet (540 m²) of meeting space. The civic center is owned and operated by the Atlanta city government’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, but brings in enough revenue to be self-supporting .
The Atlanta Civic Center was built in 1967 on the site of Ripley Street and part of Currier Street in the Buttermilk Bottom slum. It was partly built as the city's convention center, a role now largely filled by the state-run Georgia World Congress Center . It once served as the home of "Theatre of the Stars", a summer series of Broadway musicals featuring well-known stars of the entertainment industry. The Balanchine production of "The Nutcracker" was performed there annually for several years. The Civic Center also served as the site for the 1996 Summer Olympics cultural program.
