Michael de la Pole, 2nd Earl of Suffolk (1367–1415), son of the 1st Earl, obtained restoration to his father's title in 1398. They were again briefly forfeit in 1399, but almost immediately restored again in 1399
Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, 1st Viscount Lisle, KG (c.1484–22 August 1545) was the son of Sir William Brandon and Elizabeth Bruyn. Through his third wife Mary Tudor he was brother-in-law to Henry VIII. His father was the standard-bearer of Henry Tudor, Earl of Richmond (later King Henry VII). Suffolk died of unknown causes at Guildford.
Biography
Charles Brandon was the second but only surviving son of Sir William Brandon, Henry Tudor's standard-bearer at the Battle of Bosworth Field, where he was slain by Richard III. His mother, Elizabeth Bruyn (d. March 1494), was daughter and co-heiress of Sir Henry Bruyn (died 1461).
Charles Brandon was brought up at the court of Henry VII. He is described by Dugdale as "a person comely of stature, high of courage and conformity of disposition to King Henry VIII, with whom he became a great favourite". Brandon held a succession of offices in the royal household, becoming Master of the Horse in 1513, and received many valuable grants of land. On 15 May 1513, he was created Viscount Lisle, having entered into a marriage contract with his ward, Elizabeth Grey, suo jure Viscountess Lisle. The contract was ended and the title was forfeited as a result of Brandon's marriage to Mary Tudor in 1515.
By the 5th century the Angles (after whom East Anglia and England are named) had established control of the region. The Angles later became the "north folk" and the "south folk", from which developed the names "Norfolk" and "Suffolk". Suffolk and several adjacent areas became the kingdom of East Anglia, which later merged with Mercia and then Wessex.
Suffolk was originally divided into four separate Quarter Sessions divisions. In 1860, the number of divisions was reduced to two. The eastern division was administered from Ipswich and the western from Bury St Edmunds. Under the Local Government Act 1888, the two divisions were made the separate administrative counties of East Suffolk and West Suffolk; Ipswich became a county borough. A few Essex parishes were also added to Suffolk: Ballingdon-with-Brundon and parts of Haverhill and Kedington.
Andersonstown is a suburb of Belfast, Northern Ireland. The area was originally known as Whitesidetown after the family that owned the land but they were dispossessed for the support they gave to the Society of United Irishmen, resulting in a change of name. The district is sometimes colloquially referred to as "Andytown" or "A Town".
History
Andersonstown sits at the bottom of the Black Mountain and Divis Mountain and contains a mixture of public and private housing. It is largely populated by Irish nationalists/Irish Catholics. Andersonstown is an electoral ward of Belfast. The consensus view is that the area begins at the tip of the upper Falls Road, where it becomes the Andersonstown Road, close to the junction with the Glen Road. It is bounded at the western end by Shaw's Road, forming a large triangle.
The area rapidly expanded during the 1950s and 1960s as the local housing authority built hundreds of houses for people who were rehoused during the redevelopment of the lower Falls Road. Holy Child School and La Salle Secondary School were built, along with a library. As the population of the area increased Twinbrook and Poleglass housing estates were built further out of Belfast.

Was he a careless cad with the lives of a cat; or did he know exactly how far he could push the limits of taste, decency and Henry's temper to achieve the maximum reward?

He had a chequered marital career, running through woman after woman and producing several children until he made a spectacularly advantageous union with Princess Mary Tudor, Queen of France in 1515. She was the widow of Louis XII and the sister of Henry VIII and Charles was lucky that marrying the French Queen and making himself Henry VIII’s brother-in-law without that King’s permission didn’t cost him his life. After paying heavy fines though, the Duke managed to get back into the King’s good graces and stay there. He and Mary had two surviving children, Lady Frances Brandon (mother of Lady Jane Grey) and Lady Eleanor Brandon and their father’s career is a handbook in how to survive in Tudor England and especially at the court of Henry VIII.
When his royal wife died in 1536, he married again within months to his former ward, the 14-year-old Katherine Willoughby, who had been engaged to his son. Together they had two sons. Charles knew all of the six wives of Henry VIII (all of whom were his sisters-in-law of course). He was made to mistreat Catherine of Aragon on Henry’s orders, disliked Anne Boleyn whose execution he witnessed, welcomed Anne of Cleves to England only to later help to arrange her divorce, accompanied Katherine Howard to the scaffold and saw Catherine Parr become great friends with his final wife. Charles Brandon died in 1545 and was buried in St George’s Chapel at Windsor.

Charles Brandon Duke Of Suffolk in his youth and early manhood was universally considered extremely handsome. In his day, Charles was a splendid sportsman, the most skilful in the jousting arena, and an aim so sure with the arrow.
